*** Yay May! OFFICIAL MAY 2020 THREAD!!! Flowers are starting to bloom! ***

So happy to have found this thread!! We're planning on May 1-9, renting DVC points. Either Old Key West or Saratoga Springs? Can't decide yet... :-)

I hadn't even considered the gondolas being a factor in Disney determining rates for AoA when I was planning for my pricing over the last year. Silly me! haha  I was surprised to hear that some of the fall rates are cheaper than the early May rates. I'm really hoping though that Disney causes a little sticker shock here and that overall bookings will be underperforming for the spring so that some discounts head our way. I planned for rack rate at worst case scenario but would realllllllly appreciate any break I can get in the rate.

Also, for those budgeting park tickets, I've read some rumors that rates may increase in October. If UT doesn't have them up by then, I think it would probably be worth considering buying them direct before the next price jump.

We are going back April 28th to May 7th staying at Shades of Green. We love going in May. It's our anniversary and the Flower and Garden Festival. Let the planning begin.

Wow!!! Our group is growing!

Welcome everyone! :jumping1:

Of all of the moderates, Coronado Springs seems more like a deluxe to me. I have no idea how the tower will change the feel, but the lighting and fountains and courtyards are so pretty at night. The only deluxe perk I missed was no balcony. Maybe the tower will have balconies.

We will be celebrating our “baby’s” 21st birthday at Boardwalk Villas with a group of 7 in May. We are possibly switching the 1st three days to a Copper Creek cabin or Poly bungalow to take advantage of the club level 90 day fast passes.

That sounds like a great way to celebrate! Do you want me to add you to the list? Let me know your dates!

Well, looks like I’ll be just able to stay in here. Yesterday I booked a trip over Memorial Day weekend. Then I found out my daughter won’t be going to vo tech next year which puts her getting out of school up to a week later, so I changed it this morning to May 31-June 4 staying at All Star Music

We are happy to have you here!

Hi All! Just found this thread today and so excited that the 2020 packages and pricing is out. It'll be myself, my husband and our son, who will be 9 by the time we travel. Planning on going from 5/11/20-5/15/20 at Pop Century. I can't wait to see the new rooms there and keeping my fingers crossed the pool refurb may be done by then. We've been going since my little guy was 2, so we're all huge Disney fans :) This will be a surprise trip for his birthday and our anniversary. Can't wait to plan with everyone!!

Planning is the best! I think the new rooms at Pop look nice.

I added your dates to the list, just let me know when you decide where to stay and I'll add that too!

It's our first Flower and Garden festival, we are very excited!

We booked our first DVC stay at Cooper Creek for May 9 - 17th. Was going in January, but this last winter we had flights canceled for a different trip. Making us rethinking our plans for next year.

We usually stayed off-site at Bonnett Creek and rented a car, but this time will do the whole on property thing since we are owners now.
Probably get the dining plan so its paid for and forget about it.

Hi there! :yay:

You are on the list! We went with the dining plan too. Now that you can get wine with your table service and quick service, it makes it more worth it for us.

@sixcats I've added you to the list! pixiedust:

Sigh, Boardwalk Inn with a Boardwalk View was our original choice this trip. Just didn't work out. Next time!

Hello May friends! :wave2:

Since we now are going to have the dining plan on our trip, I've really started thinking about where we want to eat. We are trying all new restaurants this time. We have 9 nights, doing one signature. Here goes in no particular order:

Biergarten
Wine Bar George
Three Bridges Bar and Grill (new restaurant at our hotel - CSR - Tower)
La Hacienda De San Angel
Homecomin
Boma
Yachtsman
Trattoria Al Forno (possibly)
Nomad Lounge (we've been here, pay out of pocket)

Thoughts? We don't have one in MK area, but honestly we aren't really looking to eat around there. Will probably do an MK day then Disney Springs dinners. On an MK night we will probably eat first at the hotel restaurant then head over to MK.
Obviously Boma and Noman will be our AK days.
Epcot will be...Epcot
Yachtsman and Trattoria will be DHS possibly. If DHS closes early like this year - make a late reservation, if open late, eat earlier then head to park.

The thing about May is no parks seem to be open very late, so I can book dinners around 9 just uber on over from a park if we want.

This is just a start, all subject to change when park hours, any Disney after dark hours are released, etc.

Where are you all thinking about dining?

Hi everybody,

My wife and I have booked a trip staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge from 29th April till 10th May. This will be our third stay at Animal Kingdom and is easily my favourite resort. Please could you add us to the list

Ask and you shall receive! Welcome to May, you've been added to the list!

That's a nice long trip. I love AKL too, but we haven't stayed there yet. Plan on it though!
:)

Got to be Ohana and Garden Grill for breakfast. Other than that we are pretty open minded at the moment.

Ohhh boy we decided to look at May and am torn between May 17-23 or 24th-30th. My daughter graduates college on the 16th so not sure about making her turn right around and go on the 17th but we want the smallest crowds possible. It has been so long we cant wait to go back!

We’re staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House May 10-17, 2020. Our first time staying at a Deluxe (renting DVC points) and also our longest (so far) on-property stay. We’re not telling the kids about the trip until Xmas, but my wife and I already talk about it constantly!

Gosh, I don't know! Does she like Disney? She might be excited to go right away! I would imagine the farther away from Memorial Day, the smaller the crowds.

Whatever you choose I'm sure it will be fantastic! Let me know when to add you to the list!

Welcome to May!!! I added you to our happily growing list. :flower1:

Long stays are the best! Time to be able to re-charge at the resort is great. And AKL is AMAZING!!!

Lol I was surprised because she is quite the globe trotter and went to the UK last summer for a choir tour and leaves in 2 days for a month in Hawaii to star in her first full scale opera and we mentioned missing Disney she perked right up and was all about going! She went last time at the age of like 14 and now is excited at 21 to be able to go back to the hotel if she wants or stay late if we poop out! I did something right raising her!
