Safe travels and key is to time the sleeping on the plane. I have some Advil PM for the return flight from Zurich to try and get aligned with WDW time as quick as possible.

Yeah me too. I have a big lunch (sitting in the Cheesecake Factory now) and then I tend to fall asleep on planes anyway when I don’t have the kids. so I should get around 6 hrs and then it’s morning in the UK. When I do the western leg I wake up stupid early the next day....

hi guys! I hope all is well.

I had not the best trip to WDW last week. What makes it bad is that it was my fault it was bad. I just kept doing things wrong.

i forgot my battery charger for my DSLR. And instead of just getting over it, and moving on, I kept carrying a dead camera everywhere, hoping to find someone with a charger. (In retrospect, i should have ordered it from prime the moment i saw i didn't have it. i'd have had it back for our Animal Kingdom day.

Then, we had 2 babies in strollers. One double stroller. again, fine. But we also have 4 older kids. I just did a crappy job making sure everyone was having fun.

Then again, my older kids LOVED the resort. I say this: If i am going to WDW again, and not going to the parks, then AKL is a wonderful resort to hang out at, watch the animals, and then leave to go to do things like play golf, Winter Summerland, or Disney Springs.

But it was still Disney. I just know i could have made it better than it was. And that's the part that sucks most.

When you know how to do it better, and you know you aren't doing it better.

But, I'm eyeing 2 future trips. Possibly 2020 offsite with friends, and then possibly January of 2022. We'll see...

Sorry it wasn't the best but a bad day at Disney is still a good day.

The usual chaos of the family vacation came and went with a hotel fire, rain out at Kentucky Kingdom, businesses locked up, and an early return.

Yikes! If that's the usual chaos, I'd hate to see what qualifies as real chaos.

So at least I’ll be tired on the plane.

Hope you can sleep on the plane. I have a hard time sleeping when I'm sitting up.

Spending the next 2 days in beautiful Los Angeles for training.not looking forward to trying to drive home Friday evening.

Top O the Mornin Dads and a happy Friday Eve! This traveling overseas and getting back the night before flying to DaWorld is a royal PITA. Gonna basically pack for DaWorld this weekend and organize things like magic bands, AP passes, TIWL card, etc all before I head to Germany on Monday to make sure I am fully ready rather than trying to do all that stuff late the night before leaving. I know, cray a river over going to DaWorld Have a good one gents!

Was thinking about APs, if that pixie dust goes thru. Why do you still get TiW? I thought you got 20% dining discounts with AP.

Not had the charger issue, but I always think I could make things better. After all those trips, mine don't remember much of the trips when they were that young. So, just relax and enjoy it. And yes, AKL is a great way to relax away from Disney. They used to offer a safari from the resort for guests staying there - not sure if they still do.

Not necessarily. Most places have 10% for DVC, 10% for AP and 20% for TIW.

Initially, when I got the TIW, I was questioning the value/wisdom, because they give you 20% off, but an automatic 18% tip, so essentially it's 2%. I despise the concept of an automatic tip when the person may do a horrible job. Then someone mentioned you're going to tip anyway (and I typically tip 20% or more). I suppose if the person does a horrible job where I wouldn't leave a good tip, I can simply talk to the manager. Fortunately, there has only been one instance on Disney property where I wanted to leave a poor tip.

Two things...
1) wish you'd let me know..would've been good to meet up again. On the other hand, maybe you wouldn't think that's good.

2) You should have told me...it's possible I have the same camera or compatible charger.

Morning Dads,

I went to youngest DD's Grade 6 school play/musical last night. They did Beauty and the Beast. It was fairly well done except some bad audio with their mics. DD was not one of the main players but was a villager/candle maker. I told her she was the best candle maker in the show. Of course she was the only candle maker in the show. But she did get to run up the middle of the gymnasium which a sword in her hand when they stormed the castle, so there's that. I can't say I've ever ran with a sword in school.

Nearly caught up and beginning to level off on the work load this week. TGIF...
