Anyone venture to Target for vinyard vines this morning? I'm waiting until monday just to see what's left since most people aren't preppy here and there's nothing I need.

I was a little surprised to find a lot of items were still available online this morning. Seems like the resellers mostly focused on buying up the bags and other accessories.

I have an old Amex credit card that is called 'Optima Platinum'. It has no annual fee, and is from 2001 (I think). It's definitely not today's Platinum.

It gets offers and can do referrals for $100 statement credit and it's an MR card.

Does she have an online account, and if not can you set up one to see what's going on. You've got me curious!

There's a shop in SF's Chinatown that I pass by every now and then that still has an Optima card window sticker up. Real throwback.

I still like using Safari as my primary browser in iOS. Safari can now integrate with content blockers so I installed Firefox Focus. You just enable it within the Firefox Focus app and under Safari settings and you never have to look at the second app again. All ads gone with full Safari functionality :)

Lol sounds like a lot of work. I don’t mind using opera so I’ll probably just keep using that. It’s really easy to use and I only use it for the dis anyway

Just got off the phone with SWA the next date is now May 23rd according to the A list rep I spoke to. Trying to figure out the cost of flights to HI but they can get us there but not back. Well apparently you have to do two reservations one to the west coast and one to HI. the outbound are connecting but the inbound are not so that's why it says call them. Why their IT can't say book two flights instead of calling them. luckily the wait this time was only 2 minutes.

Any recommendations on getting to other islands? We did Oahu and now thinking to take the kids to Aulani and then check out other islands. Would you recommend Oct over Columbus week or Feb over Presidents day week? Trying to decide when we should go and start saving up. Thanks

Same. I have $6k of spend on retention offers, but there's nothing like the feeling of getting approved for a new card and chasing those big SUBs.

I can't comment on the timing of your Citi AA Biz apps. Maybe @SouthFayetteFan can chime in. But I think with the recent tightening of Citi SUB matches, I would go for the highest SUB offer available to you if you can meet the MSR.

As for Amex, I'd look at the BBP (Blue Business Plus). It's a no fee credit card that earns 2x MR on everything up to $50k/year. 0% APR in the first year, if that's useful to you. (But note that maintaining a balance on a 0% APR card could affect future approvals with Amex.) The SUB on the BBP is small, only 10k MR; but since both you and P2 have the Amex Plat, you can apply through each other's Platinum support link (preferable to self-support) and each earn 15k MR upon approval. The BBP is a good everyday/everything else card that earns a base of 2x MR, something you can put regular spend on to keep Amex happy, and is a no fee card that'll keep your MRs alive should you ever choose to cancel all your other fee MR-earning cards.

Thanks @Lain !

The BBP wasn’t on my radar but sounds like a great card. And a good way to keep P2’s MR’s after he likely closes the Platinum later this year. I have an ancient Blue card from ‘99 that I use to keep my MRs active but it’s just a basic 1x MR earner.

Thank you again!!

Weird online it still says May 30th...will have to keep looking

Random but interesting DP: MIL had the offer to upgrade her SPG Personal to the Brilliant for 100k/$5k spend, expired 4/24

Now she has the 15k/$1k spend offer. Her AF posted on 10/9/18.

Still waiting for an upgrade offer that may never come as long as I already have the Brilliant... Meanwhile, I'm settling for my retention offer.

I've been trying to decide on my next steps. My goal has always been an extended family trip to WDW in April 2020. Staying deluxe probably 8-9 nights. Me, DH, DD11, DS10, DS7. And I'd like to cover whatever I can for my parents.

I got into this game last May and here's what I have:
05/2018 CIP #1
08/2018 CSP
08/2018 CSR
11/2018 SW plus
01/2019 SW Biz
04/2019 CIP #2

I also have a Freedom that I got in 2011.

DH is a reluctant player 2. He has:
07/2018 CIP
03/2019 CSP

Here's what I'm thinking,
  • Cancel the CIP #1 once the annual fee posts, should be soon.
  • Cancel the CSP when the AF posts in August or September.
  • Product change the CSR to another Chase Freedom after the AF posts. I'd like to use the $300 travel credit for a second time before cancelling.
I'll soon have close to 600K URs which I'll put towards two rooms and I'd like to add the dining plan as well. I can add the dining plan by calling even if I don't buy a package with tickets, right??

I have 116K SW points plus a companion pass to use for flights for me, DH and kids - should cover all 5 of us or at least come pretty close.

Still need to cover park tickets.
Thinking my next card will be end of June/early July depends on when we meet the spend on CIP#2.
Probably Barclay Arrival plus for the 70,000 bonus, or Capital One Venture so I could erase the travel charges from Undercover tourist for the tickets.

Could I buy two park tickets (8-day with park hopper plus) through UT and just put $300 on my CSR and the rest on a Barclay?

Hoping to convince DH to also go for a Barclay Arrival Plus to use towards more tickets or a CIP#2, but that might be a harder sell for him.

Would there possibly be any issue with buying all the tickets separately?

Does this seem like a good plan? Anything else I should be looking at? I'm currently 3/24, should I go for a CIC or CIU before the Barclay? Or maybe I should lay off Chase for a little bit.

I was following a pretty clear path for the last year, but I'm not sure what my next steps should be now.
Any advice or thoughts are welcome. Thanks!

We started opening cards at the same time last year.......is your plan to cash out the URs towards deluxe WDW rooms dining plan etc

A lot of people here have started opening Citi AA business cards, since AA miles can be used to book onsite Disney rooms...I have no idea how many points you could need for 2 deluxe rooms

For additional Chase cards...I would keep the same spacing..every 3 months...and lower credit limits if needed

I asked about that but she said her info shows the new date is now 5-23. figure I just need to be ready to book starting tuesday and check every day. Can't remember what time its normally updated. I know when I checked at 6 am one time it wasn't there but showed up later that day.

Me too....It usually opens up between 6 and 6:30am EST...but has been later on some releases

Hello, I'm mostly a lurker here :) but I inquired a bit ago about tapping the Chase Sapphire Preferred 60K bonus offer. Thanks to some help, I determined that I am just past 5/24 and back to 4/24. I applied last night and was declined due to a chpt 7 BK in 2011. I called reconsideration today and am approved!

A failed business and marriage had me in ruins a decade ago, but with hard work, I'm earning steeply discounted trips to the mouse :)

Thanks for the fun and sharing all this great information.
Good for you for overcoming adversity AND for bravely calling recon. Congrats!!!!pixiedust:

Anyone else have an issue with disboards having a virus thingy? It’s the only site I frequent that has been glitchy lately on both my phone and iPad. It keeps redirecting me to spam sites where I can “win” things.
Yes on my phone it is unusable. On my laptop I noticed I have to reload alone lately b/c it freezes up and I get the little spinning wheel and can't do anything until I reload the page.

Yes, I'm planning to cash out the URs for Disney hotel rooms. Still holding out hope of course, that Chase puts them back on the portal.
I've read about the AA miles being used for Disney, but I don't know if I could accumulate enough by the time I'd want to book.

The best time to go for Citi AA Biz cards is yesterday. Since that’s not possible I’d say today haha!! :) :P

Didn’t make it to Target since I was taking DS and a friend (with our free AP ticket) to Hersheypark today. I did look online and few things I was interested in weren’t be sold at our local stores anyhow. Might look tomorrow or Mon just out of curiosity.
