Hope ok to post here, but related to SWGE...

Anyone else think the opening of Runaway Railway is a little weird? The assumption seems to be it will debut before SWGE to offset crowds. However, it seems like WDW would want to get more squeeze out of the opening of a ride of this magnitude. I would have expected an announcement by now to attract summer guests. Maybe it won’t actually open until 2020? Maybe having an opening date before SWGE would make crowds worse?

I don’t think Disney expects people to rush out for this no matter when it opens. Star Wars is the big draw. It will open before Star Wars because the park capacity is a necessity.

Yes purple will be one of the options. Samuel L Jackson begged Lucas to get a purple lightsaber and after much begging Lucas approved but Jackson never said the reason for the color and he says he's taking that info to his grave

That is interesting about the color purple having some sort of meaning to Samuel L Jackson considering his character from the M Night Shamalon movies Unbreakable and Glass had purple as a symbolic color for him.

Just an opinion, but I believe it will open right before. They need it to eat up people that can’t get into GE.

I know purple is when you combine blue and red. I just figured it some sort of Metaphoric statement of the balance between good and evil.....

It might just be my thinking, but the fact that there will be no FP+ for a while opens up the door for them adding the paid FP.

I think the paid FP now is going to happen. How and in what form IDK but I think it very possible now. Just my thinking though.

New fantasyland opened in phases, Pixar Pier opened in phases, etc. Not really a new thing for them.

So just to review:
Pandora opened with two attractions and had four hour plus waits on both attractions.
Galaxy's Edge, which I would expect to attract several times as many people as Pandora is opening with one attraction.

I've got a bad feeling about this.

For the time, New Fantasypand has quite the hype and was the biggest update/expansion to aland in MK ever

Now, I don’t think anything or or will be as big as Star Wars Land - as it bring some in a second huge fan base to and existing one so just some uniqueness to this. So not trying to compare this to New Fantasyland, but at the time it was a pretty big deal

Can't speak for Pixar pier but NFL was hyped, not the same way as SWGE but there was the hype of the biggest expansion in MK since opening day . Ginnifer Goodwin, Jordin Sparks and voice actors from Beauty and The Beast and Little Mermaid were there, they did a big ceremony on the castle stage and then interviews at various locations inside NFL, 7DMT was not open this was the first phase of opening it was very, very busy that day, got a couple of pics of the two of them walking around the land
