**September 2019**

Just want to say that everyone's research and optimism here regarding the opening of SWGE has made me feel SO much better. My friend and I discussed it and decided to keep our September 2-8 dates. If DHS is a zoo in the days leading up to the day we had planned to go to DHS, we will skip it and do drinks around the world in Epcot instead. We've booked MNSSHP, we got all the ADRs we wanted, and there are way too many things for us to look forward to on this trip to let SWGE dampen our spirits.

Plus, we're already looking ahead at a trip in 2021 with two DHS days, so if we have to skip DHS this time it's not the end of the world.

Tomorrow is our ADR day!! Trying for Storybook Dining on Day 5 of our trip! Wish me luck & pixie dust!! pixiedust:
Tomorrow (Tuesday) is our ADR day as well. Fingers crossed that there's no big website updates coming overnight to mess up the site for us. DS11 is helping me plan this year and wants to get up with me to make ADRs. If I get him up at 5am and the site is down and we have to wait until 6 to call, we'll both be grouchy.

I am still hoping that they have a similar event at Tony’s with parade viewing during MNSSHP like they did for the Christmas party.
Me too, this is the one extra I want to do, Parade viewing for MNSSHP. It's always a zoo with two very small kids trying to get a spot.

Please let me know how you go. Tonight (I'm in Australia) is my booking day and I need SD for my 4th day, which will be 11 Sept (our wedding anniversary)

Hello everyone! I’m new to these boards but have been following along since we booked our vacay late January. My husband and I are going 9/2-9/10, staying at Port Orleans Riverside, to celebrate our tenth anniversary and leaving the kiddos behind!!

Like everyone else we were shocked by the news of galaxy edge. We haven’t been to Disney world since we were kids, before animal kingdom even existed! We spent about an hour contemplating if we were going to cancel the trip but then said screw it lets do this (did I mention this is our first vacation since we’ve had children and our oldest is 7)! So we will be braving whatever crowds there are, Ive booked some ADRs into HS so we can hopefully get to the other areas especially toy story land, and maybe get a fly by selfie in front of the entrance to galaxys edge lol! We are going again next year with the kiddos so while we are disappointed with increased crowds, we know we will be back. Look forward to following along with you all and I’m sure I’ll be back with questions as I’m a newbie at all the disney world stuff!

Welcome to the DIS! I added you to the roll call. And ask away! The DIS has helped me SO MUCH over the years.

He bounced out of bed and we get everything we wanted!

As others have said, there were plenty of reservations to be had. We weren't making a lot, but there were even BOG lunch ressies left at the beginning of our trip.

Woo hoo! We got Storybook Dining!! And everything else! lol

September 9th - Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic breakfast @ 9:25
September 10th - Crystal Palace breakfast @ 8:15 & BOG lunch @12:55
September 11th - Garden Grill breakfast @ 8:20
September 12th - 1900 Park Fare breakfast @ 8:15 & Storybook dinner @ 5:25
September 13th - Tusker House Rivers of Light breakfast @ 8:15
September 14th - Akershus breakfast @ 8:15 & Ohana dinner @ 5:45

I booked Storybook first, then BOG lunch & then Ohana dinner & then everything else on the list.

Wasn't thrilled with my H&V time as the earliest I could get was 9:25...but I'm hoping they'll open HS early every day (like they did at AK when FOP was new) -- we could get in some early ride time before going to breakfast!

Glad you got it, we didn't get Storybook Dining on our 4th day. I had to get it on our 6th, which is a shame because it was our wedding anniversary dinner and now we can't do it.
Also I posted a thread about it but I can't book anything past 7 days. It won't let me do my 10 days.

Hope you were able to call in and get it straightened out. Frustrating!

I am having the hardest time rearranging my days. I really like the thought of adding more days, I was pretty set on it, only problem is I am not sure I am scheduling enough sleep :D

My wife and I are planning our first DW trip without the kids so we were looking for some different restaurants for this trip.
I finished making ADRs at 6:30 this morning and got everything we wanted:

Yak & Yeti
Chefs de France
'Ohana
Brunch at the Top
Be Our Guest

I actually watched some reservations fill up and go unavailable as I was making them. I had to adjust some times to get close to what I wanted.

The advice I've gotten from people on these boards was absolutely indispensable.
Get online at 6am (eastern) on the 180th day before you arrive.
Pre-load your credit card on the MyDisneyExperience before that day.
Know what reservations will fill up the quickest and get those locked in first.

I've also used the tips from these boards to successfully weather Christmas week crowds a few years ago.
We never waited more than 15 minutes for an attraction or a meal or our entire trip.
That said, the SWGE opening doesn't scare me at all. It may just take a little extra planning.

Sorry to dampen any optimistic spirits as I was starting to be optimistic myself but I just checked TP’s crowd calendar and all parks have already gone up 1 to 3 number levels since last month. On Jan 19th all parks were at a 1, 2, 3 crowd level range. Today they are at a 4, 5, 6 with one 7 range. Specifically I’m speaking of dates Sept. 21st-27th. Also according to TA’s most of their clients don’t book trips until 3 or 4 months out. It wouldn’t bother me so bad if my family had been to WDW before but this is our first trip. I had carefully crafted my touring plans (way early but I’m super excited) to be able to do everything according to the low crowd levels. I don’t think we will be able to tackle everything now and I’m kinda bummed.

Go with a great plan and you'll be fine (but realize you'll NEVER do everything - even with low crowds). I don't love TP, but that's just me. I feel like they give you a general guide and leave the rest to you to figure out. I prefer Kenny the Pirate and actually watched a FB Live video he did the other night that made me feel a lot better about being there the 8th-14th. He's realistic and experienced. He personally was in the parks for Pandora & Toy Story open. He will be at SWGE in Disneyland and Hollywood Studios. I feel like his advice is invaluable because it's coming from an individual who spends his time doing the legwork and then tells you how to navigate it based on his personal experience. He's done this before, and isn't afraid or a "Debbie Downer" about it. Adjust your expectations, be smart about your touring plan, and I think you'll be fine. That's what we're alllll telling ourselves, anyway. ;)

I'm so happy to read all these posts the last 2 days! Question - is your California Grill brunch for your arrival day? I am assuming your arrival day is Sunday, 9/7? We want Brunch at the Top for our second day and I just had no hope!
