I’m new to RMN. What do you buy at Staples? Disney gift cards?

Yes. Others buy visa gift cards, and then go to another store like Best Buy that also offers rewards through swag bucks or Ebates and get a further discount, but you have to do the math carefully to make sure the extra savings from the second level offsets the visa activation fee.

Some people wait until Staples offers a special where Visa fees are waived, or their credit card offers a percentage back for shopping at Staples.

Does anyone use Shopkicks? I have two $10 off $50 Sam’s Club cash back offers on my credit cards and I see Shopkicks is offering 10 kicks/$1 spent. That would put me very close to cashing out for a $25 Disney GC. I’m planning on buying Disney GCs from Sam’s and I know Shopkicks says no gift cards but i didn’t know if it would work anyways.

If it's an online offer you have to do it through the shopkick app. I did it once for groupon and it worked great. Otherwise they are in store offers but for a lot of stores there's no QR. Generally the only place I shop that I get kicks is TJ Max. I just had 10 post today from a $5 purchase a few weeks ago. I've never had issues with it not crediting.

That is the offer. It says no gift cards, but many people have reported it working on them. The only thing is that if for some reason it doesn't track, you can't appeal it to RMN the way you would a merchandise transaction that didn't track. FWIW, I have had success getting RMN to work with online Staples gift card orders.

I used a cashier. I had both groceries and 3rd party gift cards so I had meant to split into two transactions - paying for the 3rd party gc with my credit card and paying for the groceries with my Kroger gc. I goofed though and forgot. So the cashier rang me up, and I said something about having a Kroger gift card to pay, and she said it was allowed. And low and behold it worked! I asked her if I could pay with a Kroger gc when purchasing a Visa gc, and she said YES!

Now intrigued. Last time I tried (not even on purpose) I had a $25 Kroger GC and $50ish in groceries plus a $50 GC for somewhere else and it blocked it.

On another note, DH and I stopped yesterday and each bought a $500 Disney GC at self check out with our credit cards and had no issues, no ID checks etc.

No we are getting Kroger gift cards 10% off at Lowe’s using an Amex offer.

I used up my lowe's offer already but I wonder if mine would have them since our Kroger is a regional one in like 2-3 states. I've got to use my $5 gc from black friday before it disappears from my texts anyway so maybe I'll stop by the lowe's to see what they have. Do most of our grocery shopping there too so it wouldn't be a huge thing to get stuck with any. But I also know a few months ago mine wouldn't even let me buy a gc with a Visa gc, I shouldn't have asked and just did since I know you can buy gc with a cc. Oh well.

I plan to investigate this also! Too late for me to try on this weekend’s fuel points promotion, but maybe next time. I have a Lowes right across the street from my Kroger.
