Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hey, that phone picture is really interesting because if I recall correctly, Disney was removing some of the shortcut buttons on the phones in the guest rooms. If that is correct, this picture tells you how to call housekeeping and maintenance directly.

I wonder if that number really reaches the front desk or if it goes to an off-site call center.

Leaving for Beach Club this Friday and trying to find out info on the coffee makers in the room. Will K cups be compatible!! Thank you

I just found out the Beeches & Cream will be closed from Aug to Dec. I have reservations in August and I don't think the resort will be the same without Beeches & Cream being open. What do you guys think? Is it a Big Deal or not?

I thought they were going to have a temporary location? There are so many other awesome things to see and do we don’t always hit B&C on every trip, walk over to BW for a nice ice cream over there if you want also!

You could take the boat to.

Not that big of a deal IMO.

No big deal. Still lots to see and do around the resort, and a lot of good ice cream options nearby at either Ample Hills or The Fountain. Honestly, if you aren't actively eating there it is pretty easy to miss, it isn't as if it is Cape May and out in the open of the resort, it is enclosed and outside.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

The answer to your question about the coffee makers is unfortunately, "I don't know, probably not"

The standard BC coffee makers have been Cuisinart single-pod machines which are not K-cup compatible (see post 14, Other Useful info to see pictures)

But we have had reports that some of the BC rooms now have the Keurig machines, but we don't know how many or where they are or why/if all are being replaced.

Would not be a big deal for me.

I have only been to Beaches & Cream once, on my last trip, following 4-5 trips to the resort, so it has never been a priority for me.

As mentioned previously there is supposed to be a temporary location or you could make the short walk over to Ample Hills at the BW for a frozen treat.

I was thinking more about the resort atmosphere then the food. The outside area is going to be less lively without the popular restaurant. Also, there could be construction equipment and noise.

When I walk by there is never anybody outside except a cast member so I don’t think it will be less lively at tge resort with the restaurant closed. I think the work will be done inside so I wouldn’t rhink equipment and noise will be a big deal.

That's what I disagree with. I don't think that B&C adds that much to the atmosphere as it is completely contained, not open air and in the middle of the resort like Cape May. Sure, there are often some people sitting around out there waiting for a table or enjoying to go items, but I really don't think that adds to the atmosphere that much, at least for me. There are always people in that area going to and from SAB anyway, and there will be a temporary location so people should still be able to grab items to eat at the pool and such. I hope it doesn't impact you, I truly do not think that it will impact my September stay in the slightest even though I certainly make use of the to go area (see previous posts about alcoholic floats conquered and reported to my Dis friends in one of my recent stays).

If anyone is good at hiding construction, it’s Disney. I think the huge cherry pickers they used last year to repair & paint the outside of both resorts were more of an issue than any remodeling that will go on at B & C. And even then, for most people that was just a quick glance or a few extra steps around the affected areas.

I don’t really see the area as lively because of B & C. Inside B & C - sure, outside - eh. I think some people might be disappointed if they were counting on eating here, but otherwise, it won’t effect much.

Construction is usually something a person never wants to deal with, but if it’s Magical Disney construction I have no issue with that :cloud9:....:confused3.....magical Disney construction...:thumbsup2

We got upgraded from a standard view to a water view at BC last April, but our “view” ended up being scaffolding and strange men on our balcony at all hours. But we couldn’t complain, it was still an upgrade, it looked lovely at night, and our room was SUPER close to the lobby! :thumbsup2

I think its one of the candy apples that you get, with a character face on - if you google loads of them come up.

My wife, 18 month old, and I will be staying at YC in March for the first time. Was hoping y'all could help me with what kind of room requests I should make. I have a Garden/Woods view room booked. Since it is just two of us and a pack and play, I was thinking of requesting a King Bed. However, I looked on touringplans room finder and the king rooms didn't seem to have very good views. Any and all tips would be helpful! Thanks!

:welcome: to the thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

The number of rooms with king beds at the Yacht & Beach club are limited. I'm not sure exactly which rooms or where they are located, so I don't have any information other than anecdotal reviews from people who have stayed in one of these rooms. As posts in the last couple of pages indicate, the layouts of the king bed rooms at the resort vary.

As far as YC GV rooms, most people recommend a gazebo view. Some of the garden view rooms also overlook the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard.

Hi All! My husband and I will be staying at the Beach Club from May 22nd - May 26th. Can someone please tell me if the Marketplace sells 6 packs of beer? I did see pictures of what they sell, but it looked like only single bottles to me. Please forgive me if if this question has already been answered elsewhere. Thanks so much! :)

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list.

Thanks for your question, and to the helpful folks here who have responded with info.

Some random outdoor shots.

*snip*

There were some nice seating areas. One was just outside the elevator area and the 2nd was in the hall on the way to our room . Going home day I peeked on the other side of the resort and more seating there. It looked like a nice place to hang out while waiting for family etc.

Oh one family did have their breakfast one morning. What a good idea!

Thank you so much for the assorted pictures. I agree, the seating areas are a nice touch. We found a secluded spot with comfy chairs at the Yacht Club, on the second floor up the lobby stairs where Mark waited for me and caught up on emails on our last day while I took a final dip at SAB.

We have a reservation at BCV in March and it just dawned on me that the villas are quite close to the gondola construction. I'm wondering, for those who have stayed at BCV recently, do you hear the construction during the day?

I missed this trip!

I'll get you on the list posthaste!

:cool2:

We requested view of gazebo. We had room 2097. It was a king room with shower. The view straight out was the gazebo but when on the balcony we had a great view of the lighthouse and water. We watched illuminations from the balcony.

:welcome: to the forum.

Thanks so much for the excellent description of your room.

Any chance you have a picture or two of the view that you could either post here or email to me so I can add it to the YC Room View/Description thread?

We are doing a split stay (CR/YC) at the beginning of June. For our YC stay we have a water/lagoon view queen room. We’d like to be close to the lobby and still have a nice view of the lighthouse or lake. We probably don’t want to be over the pool b/c of noise. In my room request should I just specify “close to lobby” or is there any other way or group of rooms/area to ask for?
Also do I have specify a daybed or do all 2 queen rooms have daybeds already?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list.

As others have indicated, not all rooms have a daybed, so if you would like a room that has one you should include that in your room request.

Close to lobby is a good request. Quite a few WV rooms do overlook Stormalong Bay (and the pool beyond), so maybe you want to include that as well- not sure of the wording but perhaps...

"Daybed please. Close to lobby (away from SAB) if possible"

:cool1:

Beach Club room 5727, club level water view
- corner room all the way at the end of the 5th floor hallway, above Beaches & Cream
- king bed, sleeper chair, two Juliette balconies (one overlooking Stormalong Bay, one overlooking ugly roof and the YC loading docks
- can see past SAB to the lake and the Boardwalk beyond, can see the higher DHS fireworks
- bathroom area with two sinks, separate area for toilet and tub
- Keurig coffee maker and fridge (older fridge with no freezer section)
- two nightstands with two drawers each and USB charging ports
- desk with one chair in corner between balcony and sleeper chair
- sleeper chair can be moved but it’s really, really heavy
- wall-mounted TV in corner between the two balconies, dresser below with three drawers
- tons of open floor space, would be perfect for couple with infant in pack & play or an ECV user
- no hardwired internet ports, and wifi spotty (better wifi by open balcony door)
- no noise from hallway, and it’s not a connecting room
- lots of noise from SAB, can clearly hear music and pool games and trivia, even with doors closed

Thank you so much for the fantastic, detailed description of your room and pictures. I haven't been over to see if you have added these posts to the BC room view thread yet. I would greatly appreciate if you can do that- otherwise, I'll add what you posted above, eventually.

:thanks:

Hi all,

Checking in to the BC in a water view room in a couple weeks and can't wait to be back at my favorite resort!

Question: is there a recommended process around adding requests to a room reservation? I've called Disney three times now to input a request for a Crescent Lake view. I was told the second time I called (to confirm that the request was present) that the rep didn't see the request on the reservation. I input the request and just called again today to confirm that it was listed on the reservation (since I know room assignments happen soon) and the rep mentioned that, yet again, she did not see it listed. Have you all experienced this issue and/or should I be inputting these requests elsewhere? Not a huge deal whatever room we get assigned, of course, but just curious since it never seems that these requests actually make their way to the reservation record.

Thanks for your help!

Maria

:welcome: back!

I'll add your trip to the Be Our Guest list. I see in your signature that you have an awesome split stay planned!

That's a bit disturbing about your experience with the phone requests. Within a week to 10 days of your trip, you could also try calling the number I have listed in the Beach Club post (Page 1, Post 8) to see if they have a record of your request.

::yes::

Cabana update. Was surprised at progress based on what has been posted recently. If you can’t tell from the pics, there are 4 of them.

Awesome!

Thank you so much for these! Somehow I missed them when I was quickly looking at the thread last week.

:thumbsup2

Is the pricing information for the cabanas posted somewhere? And how do you reserve a cabana?

You have to call the special services number. The rate is seasonal and then you pay for either a half day (10-2 or 3-7) or a full day (10-7). You pay in full at time of booking, but can cancel/modify up to 24 hours in advance. I believe the cost for our full day summer rental was $318 after tax. Somewhere in the ballpark. It is posted on this thread somewhere. I believe it was $199 for a half day and $299 for a full day (plus tax).

Thanks!

The info currently can be found on Page 1, Post 1 and on Page 1, Post 2 where it will live permanently.

Do either Yacht or Beach Club have character apples in their gift shop/quick service area?

:wave2:

Thanks for your question. I hope the responses you received were helpful.

Do you have an upcoming trip to the resort?

:goodvibes

Is there a website that is BC-specific (or BC/YC-specific) with current information, recreational activities, etc. in one place? When we stayed at POFQ, there was a great website specific to that resort and I'm just wondering if there's a similar one for this resort? Thanks!

Have you looked at the first page of this thread? Dee works really hard at keeping the first few posts of this thread updated with real time information. She posts the current recreation guide at the beginning of every month. The first post has links to take you right to what you are looking for. Recreation is post 4, BTW. I can’t imagine any other website that would be any better than this thread.

Yes, page #1 of this thread.

Yes, I agree - I seriously love this thread and appreciate the mod :flower1:

I was just wondering if there was a website dedicated to the BC/YC like the one for the PO resorts, that's all.

Just wanted to let you all know I appreciate the kind words!
