Pixie Dust, or Pixie MOUNTAIN? A Grand (Roy) Disney TR *NEW TR LINK 8/11!*

Hi guys, we've been back a couple days now from our latest trip! It was another wonderful adults-only quickie-quickie's are always better when they're adult-only aren't they? I know I need to finish up Sept. 2018 before Sept 2019 but I want to do just a quick recap of this trip while it's fresh if you don't mind :thumbsup2

Despite the possibility of bad weather we made it out on time and even landed early. My stepson drove us to the airport. Since this was technically a "free" day as we were supposed to fly in the following day, I had no plans until we booked this extra night - Saturday - on Tuesday. Most of our stay was at the Beach Club but we couldn't get it at a reasonable rate - ie my TA rate - so we were staying at All-Star Movies We landed at 1:15 and were at the resort by 3:00, checking in to our preferred room in the Dalmations section which I have no pictures of.

The resort is cute! The theming is awesome especially for kids and the preferred room location is perfect. Unfortunately we didn't have a refurbed room and the need to redo these rooms, showed. We dropped our bags and headed out to DS for the dinner I'd booked:

Mmmm, Morimoto! I'd been wanting to try it here for awhile but we so infrequently eat in DS. I really, really, really want to do a dining review so I won't post all my food pics here; suffice it to say we LOVED it and will be back.
Next it was off to something else I reserved once we knew we were flying in early:

I was finally doing an After Hours! This will come as no surprise to you, but I booked this mainly for TOT. You are allowed in to the park at 7 with your DAH ticket but we didn't get there until 8:10. There's a special line/tapstile for party goers like us party: As we walked in the announcement was made that ovie Magic was starting at 8:15; I've only seen this one right after it began and I liked it so we got a good spot and watched. The party officially started at 8:30 which was also when Fantasmic! started; after Movie Magic we went directly to..............IMG_0660.JPG

Because where else? It was like, 8:28 and they were already just letting party peeps in line. And by line I mean walking right in to the library. We rode this twice and then grabbed popcorn and drinks on our way to TSL where we rode SDD first. The posted wait was 20 minutes and it ended up being about 15; it didn't go below a posted 20-30 through 11:00. Still better than during the day! After one ride we went over to TS which had a 5 minute posted wait; well that sucker was 20 also and I wasn't happy. It's fun but not waste party time fun for me! Then it was SDD again for 20 minutes and a partial wait for a possibly broken attraction that did not break but they did run a couple empty trains through to make sure.
Next it was Mickey bars and more TOT! By this point it was almost 11 and they weren't even running the pre-show video; they also only had 1 elevator running but it didn't slow things down. We rode 3 more times; now it was slightly after 11 with 30 minutes left to the party. We debated riding RnR since we hadn't been on it. But, and don't yell at me, we decided to end our night. Not before grabbing 2 boxes of popcorn and more drinks of course, but we'd had a long day and were feeling, done. I was happy with my 5 TOT rides and 2 SDD; we could have done more SDD but really I preferred to continue with TOT than wait 15-20 minutes after 15-20 minutes. I do like slinky and so does Steve, but we weren't feeling the waits.

Even though we didn't go crazy riding tons of rides it was well worth it! Loved being in the park with hardly any people (and the ones that were there were all in TSL). Weather was great and 5 rides on TOT is awesome. It was a great arrival afternoon/night!
Even with copious amounts of popcorn and ice cream thrown in, Steve was feeling the effects of no solid food since Morimoto so we had to stop in the ASM food court 15 minutes before closing. We sat for a few minutes while I watched him eat; and I told him that for all eternity he'll be :

:jumping1:

The next day was all about Epcot and the Festival of the Arts since I'd never been. Well, last year I was there for a few hours one night but really didn't get to see or do anything It was pretty cold but sunny and we started in FW with the living statues who had just come out. These guys are so cool so we stood and watched them interact with guests for a bit. Space was definitely the best!

IMG_0674.JPG

IMG_0676.JPG

IMG_0682.JPG

The other two statues were Motion, in gold, and the copper lady was.......Energy? I'm not sure now but it's amazing what they do. I've seen similar living statues elsewhere but they never interacted; all 3 of them did but as I said, Space was definitely the best at interacting.

IMG_0679.JPG

If anyone knows this lady, tell her it was fun watching her!

IMG_0680.JPG

Picture limit has been hit; to be continued!

We were about to watch my favorite parade in all of Disney:

img_8964-jpg.375948

Mine too!! I LOVE that parade!

If you haven't stopped to listen to her and you're ever at a party - DO IT. She's hysterical with her guest interactions, both with children and adults!

She is hilarious! I have been lucky to catch her every time and she's never disappointed.

Speaking of, hello super early release date on party dates/tickets!

YES!!! But, waiting to see if they offer any AP Holder discounts.

I too LOVED Morimoto! I'm going to get to my review of it pretty soon. Probably after the 2nd half of my MK scavenger hunt update. The food was amazing and the restaurant itself was spectacular.

Your DAH night sounded delightful. You packed a lot in and I'd love riding TOT 5 times in one night. One of my top 5 rides!

The statues are so fun, aren't they? I've not seen these, but the ones at DS during the Halloween season are great! Fun interaction for sure!

I so need to do this! Five rides on ToT alone makes it well worth it! A great start to your trip indeed :goodvibes

It was pretty cold but sunny and we started in FW with the living statues who had just come out.
What?! Have I been living under a rock? I didn't realize they had living statues?! How cool!

Hi lady!! I'm happy you had a good trip!!!! Day 1 sounded AWESOME!!! I am personally dying to do a DAH event!!!!
I'm also glad you enjoyed Morimoto, as sadly, I didn't...I'm hoping it was just an off day when we were there a few years back...I am willing to give it another shot down the road...

Despite the possibility of bad weather we made it out on time and even landed early
Welcome Back :wave2:
Glad to hear you made it safely and early!
Gorgeous shot

I was finally doing an After Hours! This will come as no surprise to you, but I booked this mainly for TOT.

Is there any other reason to book DAH at HS than TOT :cool1:

Next it was Mickey bars and more TOT!
:hyper:

So sweet

The living statues look so cool love the interaction lol

Continuing with our January trip so I can eventually finish Sept!

After the living statues we began the walk to WS, but before food I wanted to make my mark on the mural you can paint. Steve made his mark, too:

IMG_0686.JPG

IMG_0688.JPG

After you paint they give you a postcard showing what the final picture will be but when we walked by the net day and saw it complete we realized our postcard wasn't the WHOLE final picture, but just the area we painted in:

IMG_0689.JPG

For our reference they change the mural every 2 days as that's when it fills up. Still cool though! We then began eating our way around the festival. I swear on my kids I'm starting a dining report in the near future so all I'll say here is the festival of the arts, while really cool, has absolutely ZERO on the F&W and F&G festivals in terms of food! I will post a picture of something we absolutely loved though because it was THAT GOOD:
IMG_0695.JPG

This Bloody Mary from the Outpost with Pork Belly was the BEST thing I had to drink the whole trip! I'm too lazy to find the description but you all can look it up under the festival menus :thumbsup2 Steve got one, I took a sip, and immediately got back in line for my own.

We ate some stuff, watched some entertainment, blah blah blah, had a good time :goodvibes Made our way to Norway and noticed that "my perfume guy" Geir Ness, was in Norway and signing autographs! If you don't know what perfume I mean it's the famous "Laila" that you smell as you pass Norway and that you cannot possibly get away from if you step food in the Fjording store You can hate on it that's fine! But I  it, wear it every day, buy a bottle each trip. I did meet Geir once already but didn't get his autograph! It's like a character &G for adults! So we had to go in. I did get a special set they had which was his signature hand bag with a large bottle of perfume and his hand lotion for $19 more than just the perfume, but more importantly I got massaged and lotioned up by Geir:

"Let me massage your hand" (emphasis on the "MA in his Norge accent :goodvibes)

IMG_0720.JPG

"I lotion your wife Steve, how 'bout dat!"

IMG_0721.JPG

I really don't know if I'm his......"type" or not and I don't are lol he's sexy.

I'm jumping to dinner that night which was at one of our old favorites Citricos. Many of you know we also have a favorite server there who remembers us time after time and this time was no different; we asked to be seated in Rony's section. This meant a wait of about 20 minutes past our reservation time but it was well worth it because when Rony saw us we each got a huge hug and our complimentary champagne, followed by top notch service. He's an awesome guy; the hostess told us we were the 4th party to request him that night which really speaks to how wonderful he is One difference was that this time I asked for a picture:

IMG_0727.JPG

Great dinner with a great guy helping us out. Our night wasn't complete yet because we had more great people to hang with by way of Territory Lounge over at my favorite resort! Mr. and Mrs. @pepperandchips were also in the World and were kind enough to wait us out in the lounge (very difficult thing to do right?) We met last Nov. in Epcot so this was our 2nd meet but this time we actually got to hang and really chat while those around us cheered on their football teams and then either celebrated or lamented the outcome while we just...ignored it mostly ::yes:: We had so much fun with R and Melinda and I can't wait to see them again in May on our epic girls (and some guys) trip! Melinda took a really good picture of us that I do have but can't seem to download to my computer for some reason, so here's a grainy blown up one I do have:IMG_0744.JPG

And just like that I've recapped our first 2 days yet its' taking me months and months to do our Sept 4 day trip! I'll be back to respond to all your comments tomorrow, wanted to get this update done while I was hot!

This is such a cool idea! I love that they give you the postcard to commemorate participating in the mural's creation.

Your face is so cute--awestruck!! :)

I spent all night catching up on this report and love every single minute of it.
SO happy for you guys and all the pixie dust you were given!! :tink:

Whew! All caught up. I got way behind no thanks to work getting in the way. Still enjoying the TR but I was 10 pages behind so I'm not even going to attempt to comment on everything.

Hi guys, we've been back a couple days now from our latest trip! It was another wonderful adults-only quickie-quickie's are always better when they're adult-only aren't they? I
Lets hope for everyones sake the answer to this question is yes :P

We landed at 1:15 and were at the resort by 3:00, checking in to our preferred room in the Dalmations section which I have no pictures of.
Ariane and "Preferred" and "Dalmatians Section" are not words I would ever think go together :D

Mmmm, Morimoto! I'd been wanting to try it here for awhile but we so infrequently eat in DS. I really, really, really want to do a dining review so I won't post all my food pics here; suffice it to say we LOVED it and will be back.
So thrilled to hear you loved it. We definitely want to get back here next month.

I was happy with my 5 TOT rides and 2 SDD; we could have done more SDD but really I preferred to continue with TOT than wait 15-20 minutes after 15-20 minutes. I do like slinky and so does Steve, but we weren't feeling the waits.
I'm surprised that the waits were that high. I guess Disney is really pulling in extra people with these things. I hadn't paid too much attention to the MGM one, but saw next to no one was doing the AK one. I'm too cheap to do either unless they replace the mickey bars with some booze :P

She is hilarious. Did the guy just take her coffee????

You have me excited for nothing else at the festival but this deliciousness. I sent this picture to Donna who is coming with us again next month and she can't wait!

"I lotion your wife Steve, how 'bout dat!"

img_0721-jpg.378654
There is so much wrong yet so right with this picture. Though I think my favorite part is that he has a magic band on. Think he was gonna go hit up Figment after he lotioned the ladies :P

his meant a wait of about 20 minutes past our reservation time but it was well worth it because when Rony saw us we each got a huge hug and our complimentary champagne, followed by top notch service.
20 minutes for Rony and some free champagne sounds like its worth the wait to me!

So glad you 2 got to meet. We missed each other in August but can't wait for May!

The resort is cute! The theming is awesome especially for kids and the preferred room location is perfect. Unfortunately we didn't have a refurbed room and the need to redo these rooms, showed.
I only saw the Dalmations section from the outside but it looked nice enough. We were in the same section of Music. I would definitely pay extra for preferred again. I agree about the rooms being in need of an update. Hopefully they get Movies done soon and move on to Music.

on our way to TSL where we rode SDD first. The posted wait was 20 minutes and it ended up being about 15; it didn't go below a posted 20-30 through 11:00.
Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun. I will have to keep the after hours party in mind for another trip.

I too LOVED Morimoto! I'm going to get to my review of it pretty soon. Probably after the 2nd half of my MK scavenger hunt update. The food was amazing and the restaurant itself was spectacular.
I want those ribs NOW! Everything we had was absolutely delicious and yes the restaurant is gorgeous :goodvibes I'm interested to see what you had!

The statues are so fun, aren't they? I've not seen these, but the ones at DS during the Halloween season are great! Fun interaction for sure!
I'e heard about the ones in DS but never saw them; will have to make it a point when I'm down in Oct. :thumbsup2
a
You didn't ride RNRC? What the what?
:rolleyes1 I know, I'm sorry :guilty: I do love the ride but was so excited about re-riding TOT! And getting some SDD in, and eating a Mickey bar.........

I so need to do this! Five rides on ToT alone makes it well worth it! A great start to your trip indeed :goodvibes
I 100% think this event is worth it! Really want to try DAH at MK

What?! Have I been living under a rock? I didn't realize they had living statues?! How cool!
 Don't worry you're not that out of it! They're just there for the festival of the arts

I am personally dying to do a DAH event!!!!
I'm hoping they have DAH at MK when we're there in May!

I'm also glad you enjoyed Morimoto, as sadly, I didn't...I'm hoping it was just an off day when we were there a few years back...I am willing to give it another shot down the road...
Ah that's too bad, I didn't realize that. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and will definitely go back! Bet it was an off night; did you try the ribs? Has the menu changed since you were there?

Welcome Back :wave2:
:thanks:

Is there any other reason to book DAH at HS than TOT :cool1:
 Not to me! I wouldn't have booked it if TOT wasn't open for it :D

This is such a cool idea! I love that they give you the postcard to commemorate participating in the mural's creation.
I knew they did this last year and thought it was a great idea; now I've told all my clients traveling during the festival about it because it's really so neat!

I spent all night catching up on this report and love every single minute of it.
Aw, thank you for reading through all these pages and :welcome: I'm glad you're enjoying it!

SO happy for you guys and all the pixie dust you were given!! :tink:
:thanks: It was a wonderful, amazing trip of a lifetime for sure :goodvibes

Whew! All caught up. I got way behind no thanks to work getting in the way. Still enjoying the TR but I was 10 pages behind so I'm not even going to attempt to comment on everything.

I'm the queen of getting behind lately! I'm behind on everyone's reports and I feel like crap because everyone keeps up on mine :( It's hard when stupid life interferes!

Lets hope for everyones sake the answer to this question is yes :P
Poor Unfortunate Souls :P

Ariane and "Preferred" and "Dalmatians Section" are not words I would ever think go together :D
You and me both baby! How about "Ariane will never stay in a preferred room in the Dalmations section again" :thumbsup2

I'm surprised that the waits were that high. I guess Disney is really pulling in extra people with these things. I hadn't paid too much attention to the MGM one, but saw next to no one was doing the AK one.
And it really didn't even seem crowded! I've seen the same thing AK DAH isn't crowded at all. I don't see much value in that other than FOP unless you have no other days to do AK and really really want to

I'm too cheap to do either unless they replace the mickey bars with some booze :P
 Well we got the AP discount so that was something!

She is hilarious. Did the guy just take her coffee????
Yes! She was originally standing in front of him but not facing him so her family could take her picture; he reached out and took the coffee from her :goodvibes He also took a little kids hat off his head lol
You have me excited for nothing else at the festival but this deliciousness.
I would book a trip net year just for this! I should start a petition for it to be available year round :drinking1

here is so much wrong yet so right with this picture. Though I think my favorite part is that he has a magic band on. Think he was gonna go hit up Figment after he lotioned the ladies :P

I noticed that and wondered why he has a gray one, he has to be familiar with the whole process! Maybe he feels gray is his color.........

would definitely pay extra for preferred again.
Preferred rooms at values and mods are totally worth it!

Merry Christmas and happy new year, I was SEVEN pages behind but I will catch up. It’s been a tough few months!

a weird donut with sugary sweet stuff on it.

I thought the tan stuff on top looked like shredded coconut and thought maybe it was rice pudding or something because the sign was missing that day, but then overheard someone say red velvet.

img_8918-jpg.371505

That's the red velvet cake, a macaroon, and chocolate pound cake; all delish and worth it. The stuff on top of the red velvet cake wasn't nuts, it was like a crunchy, slightly sweet topping of some sort that was different but suited the cake perfectly. T

Okay I am a total dweeb and I listen to the Disney wedding podcast now that I am already married and no longer at risk of demanding a Disney wedding. A lot of Disney brides have a “crunch” mousse filling in their wedding cakes and one time my EXTREMELY dorky self was trying to make an “at home” version of one of the most popular Disney cakes (almond cake with amaretto crunch filling) so I started looking into what made the “crunch”... I think these are it! All the wedding cakes are made at the GF bakery so that would totally make sense. Guess I need to book a GF CL stay so I can find out :rotfl: surely that would cost less than a Disney vow renewal just to try the cake

Ok back to catching up!

This makes perfect sense! Can you try making the Disney red velvet GF club lounge cakes with crunch topping :D

Awesome! Another thing I didn't know about... I'll just go back to under my rock now

If you don't know what perfume I mean it's the famous "Laila"
YES!!!! This is the best. :goodvibes
