Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

When we booked our reservation I booked a preferred room - by the time my mom and sister booked 2 more rooms all that was left was King rooms. I was also hoping to have a connecting room with my mom since my husband will be leaving on Day 4. Any idea on where we would be?

There are king rooms that connect to regular rooms in the preferred section, but you might not be able to get that. We had 3 rooms booked, 2 preferred and 1 king (because like you, when the last room was booked there weren't any more preferred available). When we got there the preferred were adjoining, but the only king beds available were in Aruba. So my MIL was next door to us and my parents were across the resort. We had linked our reservations and everything, they just said the resort was completely full.

Is there still an internal shuttle bus at CBR? I thought I read somewhere that there is not... That seems crazy considering the large size of the resort. We booked a pirate room, which I have learned is the farthest away from everything.

Yes there is still an internal shuttle. It doesn't seem that huge to me, but I have a standard room booked. I'll be there next week. I'll report back my thoughts if that will help.

Thanks for the info! I am so jealous you will be there next week!

I feel like this has been the longest January ever waiting for our arrival date. When do you go? The last time I was at CBR was 2004 and I don't remember much about it at all except the room... a lot has changed, looking forward to it. I'll try to write up my overall thoughts when we get back!

What type of coffee makers are in the room? Any chance they have Keurig coffee makers like Coronado Springs? Thank you!

I have a few questions. I've tried to keep up with this thread, but there's so much information. We love CBR but have avoided it during the construction. Please help if you can.

1. This map shows freestyle machines throughout the resort. Are these permanent or were they just during construction?

2. What is the current bus situation. I read that there were two routes? What are the routes?

Thanks!

They do still have an internal shuttle. The walk to OPR and the pool really isn't that bad unless maybe you're on the far side of the furthest south building.

In relation to above... also whats the walking time from there to the main building? I too have a pirate room booked (for the kids enjoyment who will be all about it) for our first visit to CBR.

From 36 and 37, no more than a 10min walk at a slow stroll pace to OPR and the pool.

Would you suggest that building 36 or 37 as the best to request for Trinidad South? It looks like it is closest to the bus stop?

Personally I like 34, but 36 is good especially to be close to the bus stop.

There is. Though it's really not necessary.

From the furthest point of building 39 it's 10 minutes at a very leisurely pace.

I'd say that walking to OPR from Trinidad would possibly get you there quicker than the Internal Shuttle (depending on your mobility).
Firstly, there's an unknown wait time for the shuttle to arrive (although it runs on a constant loop). Then it would go to Jamaica - Aruba - Martinique - OPR (and possibly, in time, the Gondola Station will also have a stop)

2. From @oj01 a couple pages back. And still accurate.

Martinique - OPR - Barbados - Trinidad - Jamaica - Aruba
During busy morning period Jamaica and Aruba have there own bus.

We just stayed in a pirate room at the end of November. The internal bus still does run and it runs very regularly and we never had to wait very long. Since my mom was on a scooter most of the time, we didn't walk to OPR but it definitely seemed doable.

Just in general and not to any specific post, it seems the distance misconceptions that pop up come from a lack of scale when looking at a map without experience of being there? I guess I don't understand where all the worry comes from about distance, other than booking preferred and getting the value paid or those with mobility considerations.

That and reading people's exaggerated times. Can't tell you how many reviews I've read that state "it literally took 30 minutes to walk to the food court." Considering you could walk out of the food court, walk all the way around the lake and be back at the food court in about 17 minutes.

Yeah. I know what you mean.

DW and I are not young anymore (59 and 61) and our usual morning drill was to walk from Jamaica 46 over to Spyglass for our breakfast Cuban (that we share, it's that big and soooo good) grab some coffee, walk to OPR, grab some more coffee, walk to the island and finish the coffee on one of the seats there and finally walk back to the room to pick up the rest of our group (not breakfast eaters) and head off to a park.

We did this every day we were there. We never even think about the size of the resort. I mean, come on, there's no snow or ice, it's way warmer (even on coolish days like we had last week) than at home, so what's little walk?

I've been reading and following this thread for months and am amazed at the knowledge and helpfulness here!
Question: Is there floor space to put a twin air mattress if we decided to get one while there? Just as an option so two of our kids don't have to share a bed? I know if would be tight, but I'm hoping one would fit. Thoughts?
TIA!

Definitely. We do it often.
