OP. I have another take on it.
If you are comfortable telling the manager at your resort that you are the victim of an assault and your fears with room checks, I feel they will go out of their way to accommodate at a time of your choosing. I don't think I am being optimistic. You can write the resort manger before your trip with your concerns which are certainly valid. You shouldn't have to "just go to another hotel/park that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable" when you want to go to WDW just like every one else. Good luck
