Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Yes! That would be awesome!! We typically stay the second week in July but after reading all the fun you, GADisneyDad and others I had, I really hoped I could get a decent deal and stay over the 4th. My play is to just hang out at the resort all day on the 4th and hopefully get a cabana for part of the day. Can't wait!!

We did have a great time! It’s funny, you never know who’ll you’ll run into on the Dis! I’ve definitely met some great people... it’s so nice to put a face to a screen name!! We did the same thing on the 4th!! I loved just hanging around the resort, lots of fun things for the kids to do and the bars keep the adults busy lol I think you’ll have a great time! I’m sure we’ll take a walk over at some point!!

No, the 1/2 hour isn't such a big deal, just wondering if even two hours was too much.

I would not consider 2 hours at MCO to be too much, especially traveling with kids. The security lines can get long depending on the day & time you are traveling. Plus time if you need to check bags. A few trips ago, we were flying SW & departing on a Saturday evening. I think we got to the airport around 5:30, about 2 hours before our flight. The line to check a bag at SW was the largest we have ever seen, inside & out. We were able to check our bag with a skycap for a generous tip, but we were seriously panicking for a minute. We have precheck & have gotten thru security quickly with it, but the regular lines are usually pretty long on a Saturday.

Is it possible the car service is recommending the earlier time because of the government shut down? I know TSA is an essential service, but things can be affected all over when stuff like this happens.

Love your reply lol It was actually my 40th birthday trip, so I highly recommend it!!! Best birthday by far.

Love it - so fun! Last year, I was there for my birthday, but it was just a coincidence of sorts. My daughter had a group dance trip scheduled for November, but then in the summer they moved it to my birthday weekend in January. We had a blast, but it was just the two of us, not the whole family, and assorted dance friends and parents and limited free time - but it definitely planted a seed for this year! There was definitely no daily morning mimosa last year!

Thank you! Not sure about the government shutdown, but that makes sense. Although I scheduled the transport for two hours before, we could always ask the driver on our arrival day how things are at the airport and that point, and adjust pickup on departure day accordingly. Have to try to delay leaving WDW as much time as possible, of course! :flower1:

Sounds like fun, but definitely not mimosas every morning fun!! lol You’ll have to make sure you get that birthday trip booked!!! :drinking1

I had no idea what you were talking about, so I looked it up and yes, it does look like that  The traveling mimosa! Where will it go next?! lol

I had to look it up too.:D

It's the cutest movie- and definitely pro-travel!
I'm pretty sure that's where Travelocity got their traveling gnome theme.

Back in the day, my business partners and I stole something from from one of our other partner's office (can't remember what it was- a weird sculpture of some kind? It was so ugly we didn't want it around!) and took it all over. Then we would send him pictures of it. I took it to Hawaii and had it right in the little waves on the beach.:)

Oh, it's booked! Atrium CL at CR in two weeks :hyper: - I can't wait, although I appear to be in a bit of denial about the birthday part! I'm hoping the mimosas will help!

Not mimosa fun, more like hair buns, costumes and tap shoe fun! But my daughter did take a dance class taught by an octopus from the Finding Nemo show, so that's pretty cool! The best part was we spent most of our time with my daughter's close friend and her family. The kids had never been to Disney and the parents are fairly "anti-Disney" and were only in it for the dance, and thought it was going to be a nightmare. They entrusted me with the itinerary planning and they loved it! Triumph!

Don’t you love that?!!! We have friends who had only been to Disney once. About two years ago I asked them when they’re going again and my friend replied “we’re just not Disney people.” Not sure how, but this past summer we convinced them to come with us! They had the best time and said they couldn’t wait to go back! Long story short, we got them to come with us again in November! So they went from being non-Disney people to coming with us twice in one year! I truly believe it’s who you travel with, it can really change your experience!! We’re trying to get them to come again with us this summer!!

I hope you have a wonderful birthday trip!!! Make sure you take some mimosa pictures for us!!!!!!

What is the new AP discount for BWI for May? I'm thinking that the difference between that and the regular discount will more than pay for the upgrade to an AP, as it is deluxe club level.
I can't figure it out from the WDW website.

Thanks!

That’s hysterical!!!!!!!! Must have been fun!!

I'm so happy! I was able to get the summer discount this morning and book BWI CL and Poly CL for July 4th holiday. I have always wanted to stay at Poly CL for July 4th and we finally get to do it this year!! Super excited!!

We either rent a car or use a car service and always do 2 hours in advance, although I’ll caveat that we do curbside luggage check-in, have TSA pre-check, Clear, etc - all of those shave some time here and there. We probably cut things closer than other flyers would be comfortable with, but it’s our choice/preference. I know this sounds whiny but sitting around the airport too long makes me cringe - I do enough of that in real life.

We just left WDW yesterday and our car service also suggested we book something more than 2 hours but still gave the 2 hour option. We stuck with the 2 hours.

The airport did seem pretty busy at that particular moment in time, although not crazy. Although I’m always very thankful for Pre-Check at MCO.

Obviously YMMV!

Is it bad when I asked for 2 one time and she said ahh one for the wife, I said no I just don’t want to come back up right away!!!

Had she wanted one though I would have definitely gotten 3.....:D
Haha- reminds me of a cute joke our parish priest tells every spring:

Old Paddy O'Malley always visited the same pub in NYC every Friday night and asked for three pints at once.
One day, the waitress finally asked him why he did it that way and he said, "Oh, just to remember me two good friends back in Ireland."
And it went on like this every week... until one Friday he came in looking very downcast and sad, and asked for only two pints.
Gingerly, she set them down on the table and quietly asked, "Has something happened to one of your friends back in Ireland?"
And he said, "Oh no, m'dear, it's just that I gave up drinking for Lent!":teeth:

Thanks!

I just booked a standard view CL room at BWI for June 11-18 with the AP discount. The website states it is 40% off. My total for just the room was $3491. I couldn’t get the system to price a room with no discount, kept getting an error message, but I think my total works out to 40% off rack rate. Rack rate is $739 per night.

I’ve not stayed BWI yet. I tried to convince my family to try a deluxe room, but they protested the lack of a second bathroom, so we booked two rooms at BC. This is a trip for my oldest daughter’s 16th birthday. She knows where we’re staying but I’m hoping to keep CL a secret.

Hi - we are staying CL at the BC in May...we are soooo excited!!! We haven't stayed CL there since 2011 so I have a couple questions. I know it's in different location now. Is it bigger? Do we still check-in at the lounge or is it in the lobby? We stayed CL at the GF a couple years ago and they were checking CL guests in at the lobby at that time. And, is is true that they have ice cream in the evenings???? I will need to lose some weight before our trip if this is the case. Omg...I'll be in heaven.
