I love credit cards so much!

I should have known this would happen. Bought two $300 Visa GCs from Staples online on 11/29, triggering $15 RMN offer and to use the last of my 10% off AMEX offers. Every order I've placed with Staples (multiple, for anything from eGCs to Visa/MCGCs to actual items) has posted with the date I placed the order, even if it was pending for a few days.

These posted as 12/3

Trying not to think of what was available before we started in June!

I'm keeping my head down as much as possible to eliminate FOMO (Amex offers! Triple-dipping! Free nights!) and stay the Chase course for now. I've gotten CF, CSR, and SW personal since June. Next up will be the SW biz, fingers crossed, in January for the CP and then concentrating on getting whatever business cards I can get before finishing up Chase. Dh has the CSP and Hyatt. I think his next will either be United or Marriott---we need United ahead of booking for Australia in Sept/Oct and "free" nights are attractive.

Are you planning on the SW CP? If you haven't gotten the SW Biz yet then you'll need another way to earn RR points this year in order to combine with your SW RR signup bonus from this year. Or do the SW Biz next year and put a lot of spend on your SW cards next year. The combo of SW personal + SW Biz for a CP works if the signup bonuses combine on the same calendar year. I think it may be too late to apply for a SW Biz this year and have the points post this year. You could switch plans for P2 and have him go for the SW CP next year though.

Saks .com now sells eGCs starting at $25, but it appears they’re processed by a third party and no longer trigger the credit: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/a07phf/comment/eafxb75?st=JPB5N9ZO&sh=c15a24da

I believe physical gift cards purchased online still work, but the minimum denomination is $150.

Ah ha, king of reddit search :) I remembered reading about it but didn't see any of the updates after the initial post. It didn't seem promising as I figured if it worked there'd be a new post in the Discussions about it but I didn't notice it again. Too bad.

I just got the personal on the plane Saturday night, planning for 2019-2020 CP :)

Does it take awhile to get into The Marvelous Mrs Maisel? I’ve tried the first 2 episodes and never felt the urge to try anymore.
I think you either like it or you don't. We were hooked in the first few minutes.

Yes, you are correct!

Before the flight I had convinced myself I needed to put some more time between my last Chase app so I would wait until the New Year to apply for the SW BIZ and THEN the personal this spring. That plan went out the window when the offer popped up. So now I am confusing myself. Must be my blonde coming out. Maybe the 5 gallon bucket of frozen margarita DH and I were seen dragging behind us down the strip......nah, that couldn't possibly add to my confusion. Lol :drinking1:laughing:

LOL, whew, I thought I had missed something, and that a 60k offer would make the 50k inflight link out there no good (and I need it to still be good when I try again in January LOL)

I have met quite a few people from online in person. I have some friends made that I have travelled with, gone to their homes, stayed in their homes, had one stay with me in my hotel, etc. Granted yes, there are sure some scary people out there, but I have made some great friends online who have become real life friends.

I guess I’m a little confused about all of this SW talk. Does this apply to us? Dh just got his southwest biz card last week and we already met the MSR.

Is anyone else finding that the applying an AMEX offer from one card removes it from all cards, personal and business cards?

I just tested, being logged on two browsers, business login on one and personal on the other. I added the Hampton & Hilton Garden Inn offer (check your cards!) $40 off $175 on my BBP, and it then shut me out of adding it to my AMEX Gold. I've not seen that happen before, even when AMEX made the change earlier this year, I could still add an offer onto a business card even if I already added it to a personal card and vice versa. Grrr. All this does is make me cancel any AMEX AF cards that don't give me any value like a free night.

Sorry, I tried to follow along with the SW closing date talk, but want to confirm. DH was approved for the SW Biz on 11/21 and it looks like his first payment due date is 1/13/19. So his statement close date would be 12/10? So after 12/10 we can put charges on the card and they'll post in January?

Most likely you are actually somewhere in he 12/16 - 12/21 range for the first statement posting. For personal cards it's been 3 days after the payment due date is your statement closing date. So if it was a personal card I'd bet money on 12/16. However, with business cards it seems a little different and you may get just 30 days from approval. My CIC first statement was a little odd as I was approved on the 22nd but my statement closes on the 1st of the month, so my first statement was more than 30 days, but with your due date being earlier than mine I don't think you were caught in whatever causes that.

Depends on if you were going for the CP in 2019 and 2020...if he already met the MSR...and his statement closes this month the points will likely post to his RR account in 2018...

If you were planning on getting a SW CP it applies. But if you were just getting the card for the RR points then no.

The SW CP lets you have a companion fly with you for free (+ $5.60 taxes/fees OW) for the remainder of the year that you earn it and the following year. You need to earn 110K RR points in a year to earn it, and the signup bonuses on the SW cards count toward the 110K. So 60K (SW Biz) + 50K (SW personal) = 110K = CP.

Several of us on the thread have SW cards opened in Q4 and plan to meet the MSRs in a way such that the 110K points post in January so that we had a CP for all of 2019-2020.

You got the dates in reverse order. If your payment due date is 1/13 then your statement close date is 3 days later so 1/16. I suspect since you don’t have a Dec payment due that you are in the clear now but if you want to be wait until 12/17 or later to complete the spend. You’ll just want to make sure you are done by say 1/8 or 9 so all of the transactions post in time.
On this same dead horse LOL, my payment is due 12/26, but it specifically says "your next statement period ends Jan 2, 2019". Can I safely assume that date is correct? I am not even going to come close to my MSR until Jan to be safe, but I would like to put a few bigger purchases on there before then, and would like them to credit to my SW account in 2019 not 2018.

5 of 25 at Pizza Hut on my SPG Lux and personal cards this morning.

Not much but we will use it, which I can't say for the multitude of wine offers I'm still seeing.

And, Amex sent me another offer for 6.99 interest rate. Where's my pay over time 10K??????

I'm actually letting the balance build on my new gold card instead of paying it off every time I charge something to see if it will generate the offer.

I just saw that this morning on my ED and signed into my SPG Biz hoping it was there for the restaurant category and what do ya know? Nope! We're not even Pizza Hut people anymore but for extra points and cashback we'll sacrifice :p So I added it but I don't think we'll be rushing out to use it. I'm hardly getting any food offers on the SPG Biz - but jeez I get every wine offer in doubles. TIL from AmEx offers, Virgin has a Wine club!

Yes, been doing that for a few months now since they fixed the glitch. There had been some offers that allowed you to still add them to multiple cards, but I haven't seen ones with that language in months. All the ones I get have the " Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels." which spans across all card types so different logins, different browsers don't work around it.

Oooooh okay. No we aren’t getting a CP because we don’t fly southwest that often. So it sounds like this doesn’t apply to us then. Thanks!

Can someone help me figure things out? My CSR and CSP are approaching a year old. Still not sure what I will do with them. But looking at my account, my CSR statement dates reset on 1/2. My AF last year posted on 1/1. Does that mean I am sol in trying to double dip the credits? I will have to pay the $450 fee before it resets, correct? Have I just been in lala land and this is how it works now? Or am I missing something?

Is it smart to apply for both the SW biz and the SW personal on the same day, or does it matter? I am at 3/24 so that's not a concern. We are flying on SW to WDW on 12/21, so I can apply for the personal then. I was thinking of getting the Biz now so I can put my WDW spend on it to meet MSR. But if that is a problem from a Chase standpoint, i.e. too many apps in a month or from a credit check perspective, I'll just wait to do the Biz til 12/21 as well, as I'll have other spend in the beginning of 2019. Thanks for any help!

Anyone else have a slice of free cheesecake on the way? I told some of my students about it and they were trying at 11:30am along with me, LOL. I told the delivery person to leave it on the porch. Depending on when it gets to my house I may run home between schools and it get it, LOL
