Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster to be rethemed

I thought it was a little early for this year's annual "RNRR Retheming" thread. A simple mix-up by the NYT - they probably just got distracted while checking out Steven Tyler's hat after he took the stage. I blame Bill St. James for that one.

If there was a re-theme, I'd be mighty worried they'd go budget with some of these recent cost-cutting measures and give us something like "SuperStar Limo - The Sequel".

They would create a fictitious band played by minimum wage actors for the preshow, and, to save on licensing fees, the band would only play Disney owned music.

If it were to be re-themed, I'd go Iron Man with an AC/DC "Back in Black" soundtrack.

It is part of the Hollywood theme. Its a recording studio for Aerosmith and you are on a tour of the studio in which you then get backstage passes to their concert.
Oh I understand it, but IMHO Hollywood is not a music thing, again IMHO. To me its like that old song on Sesame Street, "One of these things just doesn't belong" :)

Article has been updated, Disney says that the NYT article is incorrect about this.
There's a shocker, the NYT got something wrong... that's a first NOT! ;)

A random thought that occurred to me: who’s to say that they would even keep the existing ride and not scrap it for something entirely new? They just did it with GMR. Now granted, RnR still draws a good crowd, but will it still have the same appeal when Star Wars opens and it isn’t a main draw to be park anymore? It’s in quite a big show building, so it’d be an interesting blank slate to work with
It is the best Coaster on property, no way is it going away.

I’d say Everest is the best imo. RnR is fun, and I don’t think they’d do it, but I wouldn’t say it’s impossivle either

It is their only coaster with inversions though, so it is probably the "most intense" for the coaster crowd. It really isn't my favorite one either (ride-wise - I still love Aerosmith), but it serves a purpose as one of the few "big" coasters on property.

Yeah for sure. I think my one shortcoming on the ride is it’s literally off the shelf, in fact a clone of a ride in Europe.

The fact is it’s super unlikely they’d ditch the ride because of cost and it’s still extremely popular. But I do love hypotheticals

I feel like this a rumor that cycles around every couple of years.

I like the music, but I’m not attached to Aerosmith. I thought the Star Wars overlay for this year’s Galactic Night’s was pretty cool.

It's (extremely) unlikely to ever happen, but it would maybe be good if they allowed each rider to select their own track like universal do with rip ride rocket

But really that theme itself (backstage/movie making etc...) is dead at HS.
