Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I had issues when I was at BC with my MB randomly not working and not opening the door. It was super annoying but luckily I was right near the lobby so was able to go down and have them fix it. It was more annoying that it happened twice and each time was near check in time so I had to wait in line.

We have had issues in the past with the inability to get into the room. MBs were not working and this was pre-phone unlock feature in MDE. Ultimately, it was the door lock itself that was the problem. Maintenance came, changed batteries and all was well thereafter. Sounds as if the original room may have had issues with the lock rather than the MBs. Just a thought.

Yep tried both phones and neither worked. They were able to switch us to another standard room (no upgrade sadly) but our new room is so much better! Way closer to the elevator and not overlooking the roof. The roof is so ugly. We have a small balcony now but it’s actually kind of cute and we are overlooking where cars pull up (not sure what you call this). Our room seems much larger as well because we got a double vanity instead of just one and the room is laid out differently.
We are right above you on the fourth floor and I agree the roof is pretty disgusting. We knew it would be a pretty crummy room for the great rate that we paid so I was mentally prepared. Having the Juliet balcony discourages us from going out there anyway. The room itself is very nice and luckily even though we did a split stay our MB have worked fine. Have a great trip.

They had been doing some roof work over at YC recently, I thought they might have tried to at least freshen up or improve the appearance at both YC and BC...:confused3

I’m checking out today, 10/27, and I will have a few grocery items if anybody’s interested. A couple bottles of water, (16.9 ounce), some spreadable butter, half a dozen eggs, couple slices of bacon, cream cheese, pint of half and half and deli sliced American cheese. Otherwise it’s just going to get thrown away. PM me

I always ask bell services when they come to pick up our luggage if they would like anything I have left. They almost always take everything and told me they use it in the break room. If they don't take it, I leave it for the mousekeepers.

How is the noise from the arrivals? I have heard that there can be noise during much of the night. I am in a standard room in December, and I've been trying to figure out what my room request should be.

We only have the magic bands for this trip activated. All of our old bands are all deactivated. Since they moved us to a new room I won’t call but thanks for helping anyway!

We had a problem during our last stay at the Yacht Club. We have a lot of Magic Bands, but we didn't experience problems until they replaced the locks halfway during our stay. Most of our Magic Bands were inactive in MDE at the time. We were told that IT would need to remove them from the system completely (not just making them inactive in MDE). I searched on the DISboards, and it appears that others have had to do the same thing. On that trip, the Magic Bands that they fixed continued to work, so I didn't bother calling IT to remove them from the system.

That’s good to know. I usually leave it in the room. Wasn’t sure if it just got tossed.

In my opinion, leaving open food in the room for Mousekeeping just adds to their workload in cleaning and does get tossed. Unopened things are different

We ended up moving rooms so our view is better now. We had the full balcony and sacrificed that for a Juliet just to have a room closer to the elevator.

The noise wasn’t too bad. You can definitely hear luggage carts and some cars being locked or honking. We were pretty tired last night and slept until 11 this morning so I would say it didn’t bother us too bad lol. Much better than what we had at pop with our neighbors. The only sound I’ve heard from neighbors here is the toilet flushing.

I'm trying not to wonder what the water fire extinguisher that is sitting on the roof is for. This roof looks like a war zone but I guess we won't spend much time out in the balcony.

Hi, just returned from a wonderful 12 night stay at the Beach club. When we booked this trip in April 2017 our booking was classed as a garden view but I think it may be classed as a garden/woods view now.
Our 2 children are of different flavours and a very large age gap so we requested a day bed when booking and we did get one but were assigned room 2519 (I think that was the number) which is at the back of the hotel and overlooking trees. Went down to the desk and asked them nicely if there was a garden view available as my daughter had taken a very bad reaction to mosquito bites and being so close to trees would rule out using the balcony. I should point out that room 2519 had a full balcony, 2 queen beds and a daybed. The staff at the desk couldn’t have been more helpful and found another room for us and insisted on coming with us to check the room and make sure it was ok for us, I can’t remember the staff members name but I got it at the time and made sure I put a cast compliment in about him through Twitter.
The room was number 4567 and overlooked the volleyball court with a beautiful view of the water and the beach, also has a full balcony, daybed and 2 queen beds.
On arriving back to the room most days mousekeeping left us wonderful towel animals which I thought they didn’t do anymore but it brightened up our day when arriving back after a long day tiring day at the parks.
I will try to upload a room view picture and hope it works.

:welcome: to posting on this thread and on the DIS!

So glad to hear you had a wonderful trip and encountered an extremely helpful Cast Member. Thank you for going out of your way to recognize him. It really does benefit the CMs when guests praise them.

Pictures are not yet appearing. You can try to directly upload them using the button in the lower right corner of the posting window. Sometimes you have to resize the photo if it is too large. I do that by making a copy of the photo I want to post so I don't destroy the original, then I use Microsoft Paint to resize.

:thumbsup2

Thank you for the welcome and I will keep trying to get the room view up as this thread really helped when when choosing to stay at the Beach Club.

I don't have you on the Be Our Guest list.

When is your trip?

:goodvibes

I thought I was but I guess that was on the happy dance November board. We are staying at BC 11/27-12/4. 30 days until we leave! (We ended up with an extra day because the airlines canceled our flight so we had them put us on one the day before. We’ll be staying at a Marriott the 26th and then having an extra resort day.) I’m so excited! We are WDW newbies.

I hope my kids like the beach club. We booked it because it came recommended from my husband’s coworker, but then it turns out he doesn’t actually do anything at WDW except drink at Epcot and BC is close. Not exactly the most helpful recommendation for our family of 5. :sad2: The theming at one of the lower level resorts might have been fun for my kids. Hopefully the weather holds true to current predictions and we will enjoy SAB!

Thanks for the dates!

How old are your kids?

My boys were 8 and 11 on their first stay at the Beach Club. They love the resort.

Make sure to check out the activities schedule when it comes out in early November. There are lots of fun things to do at the pool and around the resort. The lobby of the Beach Club will be decorated with an incredible gingerbread and chocolate carousel and the lobby of the Yacht Club will host a huge train set and village.

I look forward to hearing your feedback after your family's stay.
