Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I have been on the Yacht & Beach Club threads since 2009 and I have never heard of being able to get guest passes for SAB. If it were allowed, I can't believe we wouldn't have seen it on here.

I don't believe this is true unless NateBenMa tells me I'm wrong.

Hopefully @natebenma can confirm or deny. I know she has connections. :thumbsup2

Wow! That's a lot of pressure and confidence in me!!!

:rotfl:

I have never heard of day passes for SAB and I am not aware that this is something new that is available.

I suppose there may be rare cases that someone has asked for permission to let family/friends in and it has been allowed by a CM, but as far as I know, standard operating policy is that only registered guests of the Yacht & Beach Club Resort and the Beach Club Villas are allowed to use Stormalong Bay.

We are arriving at BC next week pretty early. I've already done the online check in, and we'll probably arrive by 9am. Since we probably won't be able to get into our room until later in the afternoon, can we still get wristbands for the pool? We had planned on just hanging out at the resort area.

Edited to add: Is there someplace I can check to see what the general cost if for the arts & crafts activities they run?

Thank you ! This is helpful. I know the kids will want to do some of these and I want to be prepared before I accidentally spend $500 on crafts on top of the already $3,000,000 we're already gotten ourselves into!

I don't have prices for all of the activities listed. I think I have some more detail on the ceramics on Page 1, Post 4.

Here is the board listing the August Solarium arts & crafts.

Also, from June, Shell We Paint, which I don't see listed. Kind of pricey!

Thank you! Only at Disney is painting seashells a $35 activity! I'm pretty sure we've got 10 of those holding paperclips from my daughter from preschool! I am all over the wine glasses though:love: !

Arethe bus wait times from beach club visible on mde app? I’m not sure if I can’t see them because I’m not checked in or if this facility is unavailable? Thanks.

Yes, you will be able to see the wait times at the BC on the app.

Although there was a thread a few days ago that indicating that the wait time feature on the app was not working properly. I didn't read if that has been resolved.

:sad2:

I was at Wilderness Lodge this month and I walked past the tie-dye table. I asked the castmember about pricing, which I assume would be the same at YC/BC. I can't find a note in my phone about it. If I find it in one of my pictures, I will post it here.

Sorry, if there has been a very recent problem with wait times on the app, I have not been aware of it. I do know that it had been functioning this month.

For some strange reason my online check in will not work on the MDE website or the app.

When I call later I just want to be prepared. What are the options for preferences with online check in for the Beach Club?

I am booked for a Water/Pool View.

The room request section doesn't work for any of the resorts - hasn't for quite a while now... I THINK the options are something like:
- close to elevator
- ground floor
- upper floor

That's what I remember... could be others.

OP, it won’t show transportation times until you’re checked in.

Bus times on the app were available Friday when we checked in and then only sporadically after that. Most of the week it read “departing every 20 minutes.” The electronic board at the bus area at the resort showed times.

The most common request is for a large balcony since only about 50% of the BC rooms have them. There are other things you can request like a daybed or close to elevator, or just about anything else you would like. :)

My choices (when the drop down menu appeared even though the feature wasn’t working) were: top floor, ground floor, upper floor, near elevator, large balcony. There may have been one other that I don’t remember.

The key to success is to pick the one most important thing and then a second thing and leave it at that. Also be sure the two things go together along with the view you’ve booked. For example, you can’t gave a large balcony on the ground floor (you’d have a patio on the ground floor).

On the subject of room requests, I don’t think I should do one of the TP requests because I don’t want to ask for anything that specific. All I want is a king bed. Nothing else matters. What is the best way for me to communicate this to the room assigners and how far in advance is best to submit it?

Are there any pool floatie restrictions at SAB or at the water parks? I have a special needs kiddo with some unique floaties but want to be sure they’re allowed before I pack them.

You can call 407-939-7630 and tell them you’d like to update your room preferences. You can tell them that your only request is a king bed and they will note it. Asking isn’t always getting but it’s worth noting especially if that is the only request.

ETA if you have a TP account you can still have them fax a room request that indicates your only preference is a king bed.

I want to be clear that I do not know Disney’s official policy on the matter and I’m sure some of what’s allowed is at the discretion of the life guard so YMMV.

This past week I noticed pool noodles, “puddle jumpers” (life vests with sleeves attached), life vests in addition to the ones Disney supplies, and floats for an infant (like a round floatie but with leg holes and a sun shade- I may not be describing this well) were allowed in SAB (in the swimming areas, I did not notice what went on in the lazy river section).

If your son needs any special floatie it can’t hurt to call and confirm (and jot down the name of who you speak with and when) just to be safe.

When you go to the ‘request room’ page on your trip that you’ve created in TP, just pick any room that looks good. Then when it goes back to your trip dashboard, the ‘request room’ will now be ‘configure fax’ instead. In the sections where TP has described your room request (two boxes) delete what they’ve written and type in your own words to describe what you want, in this case ‘king bed please’ or something to that effect. Keep it simple to avoid confusion. Fill in the rest of the necessary information and press save. They’ll fax that request about 5-7 day’s before checkin.

We always call in a request for a king bed and do the TP fax, and if it’s CL we get DSS to make a note too. As long as you request the same thing with each place, it can’t hurt to make sure they know what your preferences are.
