Is 70's section (bldg 6 & 10) the best to request if you have a standard room booked and want to be as close to both the main building and transportation as that category allows, or is 60's section (bldg 4 & 5) a better request?
I would say go for the 70s section. We stayed there during our last trip and our walk to the food court and bus stops were 3-4 minutes tops.

I'm very curious about that. Hopefully someone who is there now (or soon) can check on that. It would be awesome if it can be moved! My concern is that even if it's not attached to the wall and can be moved, it might not be able to be moved very far because there has to be wiring for the built-in outlets on the top of it that must be attached to the wall in some way so I'm guessing there's not much slack in those cords. Now if the connection isn't hardwired, you might be able to just unplug the dresser and slide it one way or the other (but then those outlets wouldn't work). I'm really anxious to find out if it's possible to move that thing as that would be very helpful to people if it can be moved.
I'll be there in 17 days (but who's counting?? ME!!) and can check it out then if nobody else has had an opportunity too. Those same thoughts crossed my mind too as I thought of the outlets.

Loved our Pop stay -with just two of us it’s fine, small but ok. Beds as usual soooo comfy! We were rm 4419-connecting room and tub/shower combo. Our room faced another building-we were right by pool but on backside so we didn’t hear pool noise. Location was a preferred room. I usually walked to food court for coffee in am. Used the pool one night. Did a load of laundry that night. Pool bar was nice-just a warning that the Captains Mai tai can be strong :). Mousekeeping was great, she even arranged our shoes in pairs :). We’d just tossed them in a corner. DH often was there in afternoon working or napping and never had any interruption issues. Though he did always have the tv on the information channel that plays music lol.
Busses to parks generally ok-did wait almost 40 minutes for a bus to Epcot(?) I think it was- must have been a traffic issue as time kept getting pushed back.
The bus wait times feature is nice but know that the times can fluctuate by 5 minutes or more so don’t leave til last minute to get to bus stop!

You can't move the beds, so look into renting bed rails if you can.
You don't need to rent them. Call mousekeeping when you arrive and they will install them for you. Note they cannot be installed on the Murphy bed. We used them for our 3 year old last year, and will probably ask for them again later this month (he's 4.5 now, but a crazy sleeper).

Depending on how much your kiddos move in the bed, something I used with my daughter when I didn't have bed rails available was rolled up towels. I would roll up towels into tubes and then place them under the bottom sheet between the mattress and the bottom sheet then securely tuck the sheet back in. She would move up against them and then move away as it was enough resistance for her. Not sure if this would work for you but might help in a pinch during the 'bed rail phase' if you're somewhere that you cannot get bed rails. (Pic from google)

Very pleased with our first visit to POP July 17-24th. We arrived in Orlando at 1 PM and received a text that our room was ready as we were finding our way to ME pickup area at the airport. We requested connecting rooms on a high floor and request was granted. Rooms 4468/4469 which is 4th floor preferred, building #10. VERY close to transportation and Classic Hall. Our room had a shower; DGD's room had shower/tub. Room was very clean...including the floors. We did not opt out of Mousekeeping but only requested cleaning 3 times during our week stay. The first 4 days of the trip we received security check every day; none during the last 3. There were numerous soccer teams staying at the resort until Sunday which may explain the 4 straight security checks at the beginning of the week. We arrived at the resort around 2:30; I did online check in so we went directly to our rooms and deposited our carry on luggage before going to food court for a quick lunch. Our favorite meal was the turkey, mashed potatoes and vegetables; DD and DGD loved the Potato Soup and we enjoyed the Bounty Platter or Omelets for breakfast. We had friends staying at AoA and they walked over to POP twice to enjoy the turkey dinner. :goodvibes All very good; no complaints. Food court was never crowded during the day which was surprising with all the soccer teams staying there but was very busy each night we returned from the parks. Bus service from the resort was very good; not as happy with pickups from the parks though. Seems as if the bus stops for the value resorts have the longest walks from the park entrances. :headache: Resort was well kept, clean, very helpful CM's and rooms very quiet. We never heard any outside noise including doors closing or toilets flushing during the night. We had rain almost every day of our visit and there were a few spots with standing water after heavy rains. I had requested a surprise birthday cake for DGD's to arrive at 5 PM; it was delivered at 5 to 5, about 10 minutes after our luggage arrived. Our favorite resort is WL but will stay at the POP again when budget is tight. Very enjoyable week there.

I notice you opened the Murphy bed. I will be staying at Pop soon with 3 other adults. I’m a little afraid of how we’ll manage space. (All women, so I think we’ll be fighting for that sink. Lol) Anyway, I have 2 questions:
1. Are both beds queen size?
2. How tight is the room when both beds are open?
Thanks!

Yes, both beds are queen sized beds with identical mattresses on both.

Personally I feel 'how tight is the room when both beds are open' really depends on what you are used to at home. We live in a townhouse so are used to moving about in smaller spaces so we did not find the room to be too confining but for everyone who agrees with me you'll find someone else who will say they find it small.

I will say that the room between the wall and the regular bed plus the room between the 2 beds when they're both in use is tight. @HopperFan provided the following measurements on the Pop Century Room Renovations thread:

Space between bed and wall by bathroom is 17 inches. But with the bathroom/sink room door slid open, you lose some space so it's 14 inches.

Space between beds is 17.5 inches

Have you stayed at Pop before? I will say when both beds are down the room feels a bit tighter in the bed area than it did before. When the murphy bed is up it feels much more spacious.

I hope this helps a bit.

Yes...both are queen but the room will be tight when both beds are open. Luggage does fit under the stationery bed but as you can see, there is not a lot of room between the "dresser" and the bed.

Only the 3 drawers for storage; doors open to 2 shelf units but the top one has the safe that takes up 2/3rd's of the shelf. When murphy bed is down the 2 chairs need to fit in front of the window limiting that space as well as access to the "kitchen area". This is from DD and DGD's room and shows the refrigerator, coffee maker and work area...

You're sink is small but I liked the larger storage area. The "closet" is also very small...

DH and I were comfortable in our room and DD and DGD's were also but with 4 adults it will be crowded.:tink:

I’ll try to check this afternoon - if I remember. Which way do you want it moved? (Towards window/door or bathroom?)

Also, I currently have two suitcases and a bevy of shoes under the table bed. You need to navigate around the table supports but it’s definitely do-able :)

Is the number for Pop Century in post #1 the number for the front desk? I'm going to call and see if they will be able to store our grocery delivery from Instacart like they do with deliveries from Garden Grocer. If they will, that solves my dilemma of when to order our groceries :):)

There actually a few different places the chairs fit. In addition to in front of the window, they also fit in the vanity area between the closet and counter in front of the ironing board, between the dresser and bathroom if you are not using the connecting door and between the dresser and beverage station.
