Disney Gift Card Deals

That's odd. I'm Elite as well and my purchases from 7/16 already show up in my reward history. The points that is. The certificate hasn't generated yet.

Same here, mine were showing up after the 15 day hold. I thought in the program terms it was 15 days for any level, I don't remember it being separated out by level.

I just checked and my 7/16 is pending but my 7/12 credited. So I'm not sure but it's not 30 days--that's what the CSR told me but I guess he was wrong.

This may have been already mentioned but I’m several dozen pages behind...
There is a deal using the SPG Amex. Spend $30 at samsclub.com and get $10 statement credit.
I bought $150 gift card for $142 and change. Then took another $10 off.
Just thought I’d share in case anyone else didn’t already mention.

Received a 10% back in BB rewards for one time use. I have been going to my local BB weekly , but will not have much time now that DD school and soccer is going to start back up. I have switched to purchasing $100 instead of $50 each time. I know im missing out on $$ but it is the best i can do. We are taking a big family trip to Disneyland and I am making the payments. I received a final payment from one family member of $1000. I think I will just try and buy $1000 in GC in one transaction. Use the 10% and SB. That should get be $125 right? If i break it down to $100 each transaction it only makes me $120. If my math is correct that is.

Using 10%
$100 in BB rewards
$20 in SB per dollar
$5 SB bonus

Buying $100/trans
$5 SB
$2 sb per dollar
$5 bb rewards at 2.5 per dollar

right? Am i missing something?

Our trip is coming up and I've accumulated about $1,500 in gift cards. Trying to figure out the best way to use them. I would accumulate more but I know mobile ordering is CC only. Also, I'll need to use the Disney Visa for the 10% off. It's all making my head spin really.

My understanding is that you can charge to the room and then each day pay the balance with the gift card. How often do they charge your room balance to the credit card on file? If I do it daily is that Ok?

Also if I do pay for a sit-down meal with a gift card or my Disney Visa Rewards directly how does the tip work? I know sometimes prepaid credit cards are difficult to use at restaurants with gratuities.

Also, I was going to Ralphs (kroger/publix) this week to pick up some more, but I don't see the 4x fuel reward coupon online.

They charge it when you get close to limit, which I think is $1500 for values and mods, and $2k for deluxes OR the night before checkout. For me, whenever I returned to the hotel for the evening, I went to the front desk and had them apply my GC to my balance. It worked fine that way. Unless you're charging a lot, you probably wouldn't need to do that (I just liked having the peace of mind and also knowing exactly how much I left to spend without keeping tabs...).

It depends on the level of the hotel you are staying at. The Value and Moderate Resorts have a $1500 threshold while Deluxe and Deluxe Villas have a $2000 threshold. Once you reach that limit (or come close to it), the resort will put the charge thru to the credit/debit card on file during the overnight hours. I say "come close to it" because they don't want you to be just a few dollars short of the spending cap at the beginning of a new day when you hit the parks. They don't want you to end up with a breakfast bill and a resort account that is over the limit.

You can go to the front desk or lobby concierge to pay it off each night, but the MDE app does keep track of MB spending, so you should have an idea of when you are approaching the limit and then you can just take care of your balance then.

You add the tip amount in when you make your payment with the GC or CC or MB payment. The total amount is deducted from the GC or applied to your CC or MB account.

For those on the fence buying a Sam's Club membership - Groupon's deal is currently $35 for a membership, $10 egift card, additional $15 egift card (after you make your first purchase of $15 or more online) plus a pizza, rotisserie chicken and cookies. If you're not interested in the food it's like getting the membership for $10 otherwise you're getting it for free plus additional free items. Ebates also offers 6% back for Groupon but promo codes are not able to be used on the Sam's Club membership.

I don't drive much so fuel perks don't work for me and Best Buy isn't convenient so that doesn't work well either. I personally just buy my Disney gift cards with discounted Wal-Mart gift cards at Sam's making my discount roughly 10%.

A CM friend showed me that she paid the tips in cash (which the CMs prefer), and then wrote in the word "cash" where the tip line is. I have done it that way at Disney World, ever since, when dining there.

This may affect many shopping at Kroger:

Editing as the link doesn't mention what it's about. A subsidiary has stopped accepting Visa and other stores may follow.
I saw this too and panicked. I don't think it's a long-term concern (more like when a cable company drops a network while they are negotiating) and it only applies to Visa credit cards at the moment. So if you use visa gift cards and use the pin, I think it wouldn't matter.

For those wondering the skinny is Foods Co supermarkets and gas stations (they have gas stations? apparently!) in Central and Northern CA will stop accepting Visa credit cards Aug 14. They are considering expanding the ban to other stores if necessary in their fight with Visa over fees.

Read CO Kroger chains (King Soopers and City Market) will not be getting into the fight...So, Coloradans, you can breathe a sigh of relief :D

I agree with @havaneselover though in that I think this will be very short-lived!
