We’re doing EMM in a couple of weeks and right now the plan is to head to HM around 8:55 and hit IASM on the way to breakfast. Do they let you on the HM line before the RDers or do they hold you back until they get into fantasyland?

Hi Everyone!
We are going for the first time on Aug 12 (first visit will be to MK), and we have the EMM booked for that day.
We are staying off site from the Disney bubble, so we don't have any resort transportation, but will be driving our car.
I plan to arrive ~7AM at the parking lot. Will there be any transportation available from the parking lot to the ticket center, and from the ticket center to MK gates?
I've read several conflicting posts that say there will be some form (monorail or boat or bus) but others say they hit snags and they had to get an uber somewhere else like one of the nearby resorts.

Any recent visits that can confirm if the monorail will be running at that time?
Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

We’ll be there the same day. We’re at Pop Century but may drive because we are going to hop to AK. There should be at least one form of transportation running from the TTC, but we haven’t done it ourselves yet.

I can only think of one why they are closed to new bookings if they are not sold out. My speculation is they are seriously considering raising the price. So, hold on to your wallets.

This experience is already priced out of our families budget. But, I'm sure there are plenty of others who will pay whatever. Get ready.
Ugh, I hope not. :faint:

Looking to do the same thing.

What are people’s thoughts about doing EMM on a day where there’s a ticketed event that night? For our trip in November, we already decided to do our first MK day on 11/13 to avoid the crowds of going the only non-party day that week. Party days are supposed to be fairly crowd-free until 4 anyway, so is it really worth the extra expense?
All the Christmas Party days I've been to have not been fairly crowd free!! At all! They are said to be less busy than a non party day that time of year, but still large crowds and high wait times for rides. I don't want you to be disappointed.

Hmmmm...interesting thought. I suppose better than the thought that they could be cancelling for October and November dates, which I have a reservation for. I do think it's odd that the glitch has gone on this long and no one has done anything to fix it. I wonder if they would raise the price after some already hold reservations for those dates? I suppose they could...there may not be a whole lot booked for October and November dates yet..just us crazy DISSERS!

Anyone else planning Space Mountain and Buzz directly after EMM at ropedrop? How much time do you think that will take? Trying to decide on ropedrop plan and not sure if I have enough time to do both and make it back to breakfast by 9:45 at latest?? Thoughts?

I would do EMM irregardless of a ticketed event if that's the day that worked for my schedule. The crowds may be less for the regular MK day, but not nearly low enough to allow you do ride SDMT over and over again with very little wait like you can do during EMM. We really enjoy EMM, it's just a fun way to get 3 easy rides, 2 of which are insanely popular and have long lines typically, and you also get a fun morning and a pretty good breakfast included.

Thanks for the responses. It seems like a cool event, but it is fairly expensive. You guys certainly tempt me toward it! Luckily my dates are among those currently not able to be booked, so I get a lot longer to decide.

The person I’m traveling with also qualifies for the DAS pass, so we can usually use that to help work around moderately sized crowds. I will say, if an EMM was offered in any portion of animal kingdom, we’d HAVE to get it, as that is his favorite park.

And thanks for the warnings about crowds! I had heard they were quite low on party days, so it’s good to know not to take it too far. Still, I think I’ll stick with going the day we’re planning on now. There are parties Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with EMH till 11pm on Wednesday. Even with the extra hours, I’d imagine that many parties will mean MK will be CRAZY the one weekday without one.

Absolutely. The better choice is still the party day! Other days will be nuts!

I think you could be right. Very good observation

That has been our plan the 2 times we did it. The second time, we were held behind PP & IASW until 9am. So just factor that in. But we were at breakfast by 9:45am. The first time we got lucky and Small World opened early because Mine Train was down, so I think we hit breakfast early because hubby was hungry.

We had planned to do this, but they held us back by the teacups until that RD crowd got to us which put the Space Mt RD crowd there way before us. The line that was filing in to space mt was almost back under the peoplemover track and we didn’t want to chance missing breakfast or be really rushed because of our FPs, so we bailed on Space Mt and rode Astro orbiter.

Here is my plan for emm in August; let me know if it seems worth it.

We will get there right at opening. Then, we are going to do Peter Pan, Pooh, and 7dmt all in that order, by that time, I’m hoping it will be time for the 8:30 breakfast to open.

We want to eat a quick breakfast, and then head straight to Frontierland to knock out Btmr, splash, pirates, jungle cruise, and haunted mansion early on.

We have fast passes for jungle cruise, voyage, and space all before lunch at liberty tree, and according to touring plans we should be able to be done all the rides we hope to do before lunch. (Not doing buzz because tsmm seems so much better)

Hmmm...I am really struggling with what to do at RD after EMM...thought this seemed like an ok plan, but not if they hold you until after the RD crowd! Yikes! I don't even know if getting 1 of those rides is feasible? Maybe just do Buzz? I was hoping to just save a couple fp's and use them on other things but maybe we will still have to fp Space. I really don't want to go all the way over to Splash and Big Thunder just to have to trek back for breakfast. And HM hasn't had too bad of a line later in the morning when we've been there...20 min max...so just not sure! Please continue posting reports of what works and what doesn't! Very helpful everyone!!

Not sure who is included in your group, but if you have little ones who are interested in meeting characters, that might be a good option right when the park officially opens.

Just curious, are you planning to ride each of the EMM options only once? Personally, I think that much of the appeal for the event lies in being able to get right back onto a ride you enjoyed, which is definitely not a normal occurrence at Disney! Also, those would be some pretty expensive single rides for the price of the event. I apologize if I misconstrued your post :).

We are going to try and do them twice if possible based on time :) but I figure this whole event ends up being a pretty good deal when you keep in mind that 3 extra fast passes costs 50 dollars a day; and this comes with the free buffet.

Was thinking the same thing. I actually plan to finish breakfast before ropedrop and just continue to ride stuff after so i dont have to backtrack to fantasyland again.

I have a circular route in mind:
BTMR > Splash > PotC > JC > Buzz > Peoplemover > Space (FP) > Barnstormer > Dumbo > Under the Sea > Belle (FP) > IASM > HM (FP)

Glad I saw this. I have EMM tickets and was thinking they were sold out.I came to this thread to get a idea as to how many tickets are sold, Based on the struggles I've had getting ADRs during our visit, I was gearing up for a massive crowd while we are there. It will definitely be worth it to our family. I plan to hang with the kids while the grown ups ride 7DMT. We will do the tea cups and carousel while they ride. I'm on the fence about princesses, as we will be doing a party as well as Park Fare and Bon Voyage to catch a few princesses.
What would you say is the ideal time for breakfast? I was thinking of grabbing a couple of early fastpasses but not sure about HM and Pirates as we hope to do them Halloween. We've read there may be special effects that night. We also plan to have a chill afternoon before coming back that evening. Our party day is on a different day from our EMM.

Just a note - the tea cups and carousel are not part of EMM. I’ve seen reports of the carousel being open from time to time. It was not open the day we did EMM. My son was below the height requirement for 7DMT (I’m hoping he will make it next trip), but we switched off doing Peter Pan and Pooh with him while the other ride 7DMT.

As far as breakfast, I think 9:30-9:45 is good. That way, you can do an attraction or 2 at RD.
