Just a couple of things About the new Amex offers:
1) Amex gets level 3 data from merchants on what you buy. This means they know specifically what you purchase. They have recently started cracking down on people who buy lots of gift cards, in some cases not giving sign up bonuses and in some cases shutting down accounts totally. My suggestion for anyone who has the offer is to not buy a ton of gift cards at one time, or start spending tons of money on the Amex all of a sudden. The idea is not to draw attention from Amex where someone will take a look at your account. The offer is good until mid November, so there is no need to run out to Lowe's or Staples and buy a ton of gift cards at once. You can read more details on the Amex shutdowns at

2) If you are buying Disney gift cards ONLINE from Staples, there is a $1.99 shipping fee and you may or may not get cashback from a portal. Almost every portal excludes gift cards, but sometimes they go through anyways. However, a word of caution, sometimes when too many people "abuse" these cashback sites they can have their accounts frozen/shutdown and the money taken back as what happened recently with giftcards at Office Depot and people using ebates cashback -you can read about that at
https://milestomemories.boardingarea.com/ebates-office-depot-in-store-cashback-clawbacks/ . I use the word "abuse" in quotes because it really should be the cashback portal's responsibility not to award the cashback in the first place but as far as ebates was concerned, they considered it abuse to them.
3) If you have the Staples Amex offer on the Amex SimplyCash Card, you earn 5% cash back at Office Supplies stores so it would be a total of 15% off. However, with the recent Amex crackdowns and the level 3 data that they get, I'm not sure if you still get the extra 5% at Office Supplies stores when purchasing gift cards.
