I love credit cards so much!

I've read through Reddit but I'm not sure how best to do this. We're going to Disney next month and we were going to stay offsite but I've decided I need to stay onsite.

I need to book 2 rooms at Pop, it's available right now with a discount on Disney's site. I want to add the dining plan to one of them. I want to use UR to pay. I don't have enough time I don't think to get a room with dining (ticketless package) transferred before the final balance is due. Check in date will be June 24. So I'm thinking I need to at least book the one room directly with Chase.

If I call the travel/cruise dept, they should be able to get me the discount I see on Disney's site even though it's not coming up when I search the UR booking?

Or, can I book both rooms on Disney's site, then call to transfer them over, then add the dining plan once it's transferred over? I read on Reddit that dining can be added without tickets, but I'm not sure if that's after transferring or at the time if booking.
Little late posting but I’ve book directly through ur calling and have gotten the room and dining with no tickets. Actually just added another day today as a new reservation

Are you turning off the "verified resale" seats on Ticketmaster? And I'm sure that the best value seats are gone, but I looked at the first week in April in New York and there are good orchestra seats for $350, which is not a bargain in any absolute sense but is something of a bargain for Hamilton tickets. Chicago is even better -- the Friday after Thanksgiving I could get center mezzanine seats for $157.
I wish I lived near Chicago. My brother got DC tickets for $120.

So this is odd . . . I received both of my Sam's gift card orders today. Still no charges on my credit cards (neither pending nor posted). Also, still shows as processing on the Sam's site. No activation email either. Sigh. Did online chat and they are forwarding the issue to the gift card department so that they can activate the cards. What in the world!?
That's crazy! I received an email today that said my order couldn't be cancelled and to bring my items in for a refund when I receive them. There aren't even any Sam's around me. Keep me posted on how you make out!

Along with my FIVE letters to get my name changed on my Chase cards. There's a line on them where I'm supposed to write my name as I'd like it to appear on the card, and then FAX it in with a copy of my marriage license or driver's license. What is this, 1998?

Wait till you get to FB... 8 yrs later still no one will respond to my DW's name change requests. They flag it is 'fake' and won't let her change it.

Wish you luck! Got about $700 from Target once that were never activated (Drained my Target gift cards tho!), took hours on the phone with Target who were contacting Disney to verify ect. They showed them activated but Disney didn't. In the end I finally got them activated but surely lost any savings in time spent on the phone with them.

I am not sure it is worth it to cancel and try to rebook if you can not get the AP rates. Otherwise you can just cash out UR points for about the same value as you will get to transfer it to Chase. Universal seems to be very weird with their AP rates. Maybe Disney is the same, but I am not familiar. Last year I put in a 4 night reservation as soon as AP rates came out. I wasn't sure on the dates but knew it would be close. In the end I just needed 3 nights and I called to cancel just one of the nights and they wouldn't let me. They said they had no more AP rates. I argued that I already had AP rates and I just needed to cancel one of them but they said they had to cancel the whole reservation and rebook and then there would be no AP rates. I said but I have AP reservations so if I cancel then you should still have my AP rooms I can have back. Nope, does not work that way. So we stayed 4 nights instead of 3.
Something similar happened at Dolphin last year but SPG booking transferred me to the hotel desk where apparently their software can override these issues. Mine was actually that I booked 4 nights, needed 3 but the hotel was sold out. They somehow couldn’t just “remove”a night but actually wanted to rebook, which they couldn’t because it was sold out. Apparently only the hotel desk could do that, not SPG booking.

DH and I both have the older Chase Ink Plus. After one of us gets the CSR, is it ok to request both be product changed to Chase Ink Cash to avoid the annual fee? Any downsides (other than missing a small bonus on CIC)?

DHs CIP came!

Just weird, I changed my name in 2016 or 2017 and the Chase phone rep did them all over the phone. It was so bizarre, I changed almost all my cards over the phone with no documentation. I was like, crud should have done it years ago if i knew it was this easy! Silly me waited until I changed my name legally with the state first so I'd have gov ID to verify rather sending my marriage cert everywhere.only Amex and the airlines wanted any kind of proof. (Kinda scary but as long as I wasn't changing anything else like address too it seemed pretty safe) I guess Chase changed protocols in the last year, cuz I had 2 phone reps who did it all. Although I guess I could have got both rogues in the whole team :)

For my DH, he apps for all kinds of things he probably doesn't even know about. I want the bonus points. He will only carry 1 card at a time though. Maybe if you don't have your DH carrying multiple cards he wouldn't mind that you are app'ing for them?
Oh, it’s not so much he minds carrying them. It’s that he literally tracks every purchase on a credit card, except my Banana Republic and Target, in a spreadsheet. So it means another spreadsheet for him and another credit card to keep track of. I’ll have to start getting the Amazon gift cards so we can stop using the Amazon CC for him to track. :)

I bought my dream treadmill yesterday. Something I've wanted for a decade (seriously). But just never felt comfortable spending that kind of money. So I used a new card to get the bonus, right? Nope. Don't have my new Delta Gold yet and the treadmill I wanted was on a special sale... that ended yesterday. So it went on the Delta Plat for the Amex extra warranty. It is what it is. Womp Womp.

I don't think I've spent that much money at once without a signup up bonus since... well, forever. :rolleyes2

Congrats to everyone who can get that new Business Ink card!

DH’s CIC and my employee card arrived today! Let the MSR begin! One question: I tried to add it to ApplePay and got an error message that Chase does not support this payment mechanism for this card, or something like that. That’s jogging a memory of maybe reading on here that Chase biz cards don’t work with ApplePay? Can someone confirm? No biggie if that’s the case. Just though I’d add because I’ve become a pretty heavy ApplePaynuser wherever it’s accepted.

a few of us had plans on doing this... but we keep getting the recent rumors that the UR line wouldn't be combinable in the near future. If thats the case, we all believe that the CI+ is the best card to still have. My AF hit last month, ive continued with it still for that off chance that might happen. i think @calypso726 has similar thought. The choice is up to u though.

you are correct, no biz chase cards can use mobile payments. :(

Thanks! I called in tonight and I was able to do it. At first she couldn't find availability, but I told her I saw it on Disney's site so she then went and contacted Disney direct and was able to find exactly what I wanted.

Somehow in between choosing a standard view room and adding the dining plan, the room was switched to preferred view but I didn't realize until I got the confirmation number added to MDE. But that's okay I switched our other room to preferred as well. Not that much more money. Second room will stay with Disney and we'll pay it off with gift cards. Hoping I can somehow note that we're traveling together and would like to be close. We're all adults and don't need connecting, but would like the same building if possible.

I did ask if I could add a dining plan to a room I had booked direct with Disney if I transferred it to Chase, but she didn't really know if that could be done. So I can't be a DP on that.

Thanks everyone for the help! I'm so excited we're going to be onsite instead of offsite!

I wanted to share my experience on trying to transfer a room reservation at Universal to the Chase Cruise and Tours Department.

I booked an AP rate on the Universal website for $265 a night versus the regular rate of $374 (traveling in August). I had to put a one night deposit down but felt that was worth it to get the lower rate and then wanted to transfer to Chase and pay the balance with UR's. I called the Chase Cruise and Tours number listed on the reddit thread, 855-234-2542. The first rep I spoke with said it could not be done. Time to HUCA! Second time I got Terrence, at extension 8118. He said it could be done, it was just a slightly longer process than transferring from Disney. He put me on hold and called over to Universal. He then came back and said I needed to call the "rooms only" line 800-232-7827, and give them permission to transfer the reservation to the T.A. "Loyalty Travel". That went smoothly and I called Terrence back to let him know it was done and he could call them again.

This is where we ran into an issue. He was unable to take over the reservation because, according to Universal, I only had a "placeholder" on the rate. My balance isn't due until I check-in, at which time I need to show my annual pass to confirm the rate. If I had booked under the regular rate, it could transfer. However, I don't see why anyone would want to do that. if I were paying the regular rate, I could just book on the portal myself and not have to jump through all these hoops! Terrence did suggest I cancel my booking with Universal and he could try to book the AP rate if it is showing up and I call him. That rate isn't showing up anymore for the times I can go. I'll have to see if my two rooms go back into AP rate inventory after I cancel. I'm pretty much expecting to book with points at the regular rate though.

Just figured I would share my experience in case this helps anyone!

ETA: This is in reference to Loews Royal Pacific Resort

Thanks for sharing! I have been wondering about this process!
