Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Which side of the resort are you interested in, the Villas or the Inn?

On the Inn Side of the resort there are a split of water view / garden view rooms that actually face the Village Green. Rooms 5273 - 5285 are all classified as Garden views and overlook the Village Green. Then next 6 lower numbered rooms have a good view of the Village Green but also a view of Crescent lake / Swan / Dolphin / Yacht Club / Beach Club.

Thanks for the great information! I'm looking at the Inn side. So 5273-5285 are garden view and 5271-5261 are water view? No wonder it's so confusing!

Thanks! I've been thinking about getting one. I don't usually like wearing a watch but I think this one might be worth getting used to it!
I didn't wear a watch of any sort prior to getting one so it did take some adjusting.
I recently started using a holder to keep the puck from a MB on my watch band too, so I only have to wear 1 thing at Disney. I wasn't sure I'd like it before I tried it but turns out, I love using the puck keeper. Some ingenious soul created them using a 3D printer and sells them in ETSY.

Hello Friends!

I just returned from an idyllic six-night stay at Disney's Boardwalk Inn. Hotel side, not DVC side. We were guests at BWI from April 29-May 5, 2018.

Ask me anything!! We had a rental car so I can answer all your parking queries, too!

(Lurker since 2012, but have stayed at CS and BWI in 2015 and 2018)

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip!

My DH and I are staying at BWI for the first time in September. We are curious about the layout of it, specifically how were the views from your room? Did you hear much noise from the Boardwalk? Was the walk far to the Boardwalk activities? Did you end up walking to Epcot or DHS, and if so, how was it?

You know, everything. :-)

Well, where can I begin!

We were SO surprised by how quiet and peaceful the Boardwalk Inn was, considering its proximity to so much action! It was just so pretty. Once we were on the grounds of the BWI, we were a world away from The World! The lobby, the pools, all of it. Just so quiet and lovely.

We booked a Garden Room and were assigned to room 5308 which had a balcony that overlooked not just the gardens, but also Epcot! We could see the Epcot sphere and the Eiffel Tower and THE FIREWORKS from our room. We were there for six nights but only caught the fireworks from our room on one night since we were so busy! But it was just lovely every single day. We walked down to Bellevue Lounge for coffee in our resort mugs and enjoyed from our balcony every single morning. The Bellevue also offers Croissant and other breakfast pastry. Mary, our hostess, was fantastic!!

It was an EASY 10 minute walk to International Gateway from our room every day. Hollywood Studios was longer and we just took the Friendship Boats which were right in the center of the Boardwalk. So enjoyable. No crowds. We spent more time at Epcot given the proximity than we would have on any other itinerary, because it was just so easy and enjoyable to walk or take the boats. Basically, you can walk if you like, or take the boat if you like. The Boardwalk itself is steps away. We loved having a cocktail and just gazing at the waterfront looking at the Yacht and Beach Club. Plenty of tables and seats. Easy to grab a drink at Joe's Margarita Shack. We sat and enjoyed the Boardwalk nightly, with our awesome Garden View room just an elevator away.

The Boardwalk Inn is idyllic. You will feel as though you are a world away, while just being steps away. It's hard to describe how perfect and magic and romantic it is. We're forever spoiled. Boardwalk Forever!!

Wow, that just sounds wonderful! I can't wait, and DH is really excited about staying at BWI too. :-)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me.

You are very welcome, and if you come up with any more questions, send them my way!!

You'll just love it. The Boardwalk Inn is perfect.

We just switched from BCV to BWV. I've never stayed at BW. What can you tell me? What is the work being done this summer? Are the pictures on page one updated ones (1BR)? Thanks.

Thanks for your report! Our Magic Bands arrived today and just 22 days till we arrive at BWV! Your report has made me even more excited. I've stayed at BWV 3 times before and just love it!

We stayed at a BWV 1BR last year overlooking the quiet pool and loved it. We probably had a HS fireworks view but was never there to see. Where we were was a bit of a walk to the elevators but convenient to stairs close to the front of the resort with buses or walkway to HS. Loved the fact that the AC was adjustable to cooler temps since we are from New England!

Just contacted the DVC member we rented points from and put in our request for our Boardwalk view BWV room in September! We requested a room on a higher floor, but honestly I'm just so excited to go! 125 days.....

Can someone let me know about laundry detergent? Do they provide any in the 1 bedroom villas? (If so, I imagine it would just be enough for one load.) Can it be purchased either in the laundry facilities or Screen Door General Store?

There will be one small box sitting on the washer when you check in. It is enough for one load. The BWV laundry room has a vending machine where you can buy more small boxes. In March the vending machine had Ares Free & Green Laundry Detergent. But looking at my picture from March, the boxes seem to be marked HE and I don't recall that the washers in the villas are HE. Somebody else might know.

They provided a box on check-in and another on day 4 but I honestly didn't open it because I brought my own laundry pods. I brought the arm and hammer ones that are powder pods, so no worries of them breaking and making a mess on the plane.

Eta I also brought my own dryer sheets

Just a note this is only for guests using DVC points as an owner or by renting points. The new box is provided on the 4th day during the Trash and Tidy visit.

If you made your BoardWalk Villa reservation with Disney, you are on a Cash reservation and you will get this consumable refilled after each use. As part of daily mousekeeping service.

Others have answered re availability of detergent. I just wanted to add that the W/D are stacked & apartment size. So “one load” is significantly smaller than what we’re accustomed to at home! DH & I have a load every 2-3 days!

Thanks everyone! Our reservation is cash, but knowing the loads will be smaller, I will pack some. The pods are a great idea! I love this thread :flower3:

I always bring powdered detergent from home, in a ziploc bag. I don't like unscented detergent, which is what DVC now provides, this way our laundry has a fresh scent.
I also bring dryer sheets, cut them in half before placing a few in a ziploc.

They stopped calling it Trash and Tidy when guests got upset with Housekeeping didn't clean up the villa. So now it has been Trash and Towels for a long, long time. If you book a cash stay through Member Services, not Disney Reservation Center, it is treated the same as a points reservation. So no daily full cleaning, just the DVC schedule.

I wil be staying in September I got a hold of a BW villa. I only got standard 1 bedroom. Can anyone tell me a good building or room to request?? I have had some back surgery and Do not want a far walk to get to Boardwalk to Epcot.. Thank you
