“Official” 2018 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party – Strategy and Itinerary Thread

I definitely need help! I love planning our Disney trips but for some reason planning for the party seems overwhelming. Travel party equals me (35), DS (11), DD (8), and my godmother (60). Party date is October 8th. We have Ohana breakfast at 11:55. After that we'll head back to the room to rest then head to the party around 4.

So this is what I'm thinking....
3:45-4:15- Enter the park
4:20-5:30- Meet Jack and Sally
Tag Team: Restroom Break, SotMK Card
5:30-6:30- Meet Moana
6:30-7:15- Rides and Photo Pass pics
7:15-7:30- Trick or treat on the way to grab dinner
7:30-8:15- QS Dinner- order via mobile app
8:15-9:00- Meet Belle and Gaston
9:15-9:30- Parade. Probably by castle
Tag Team: grab snacks while holding parade spot
10:15-10:30- Hallowishes
10:30-11- Dance Party
11-11:30- Rides
12- Hocus Pocus

We'll hit the trick or treat stations as we move around the park!

We will be at MK 1/2 day on another day plus we’ll be there the morning of the party. So if we get some rides in that will just be a bonus. I figure we’ll grab a Halloween treat and eat it during the parade. HELP!!!

Wow that float looks brutal.

We just cancelled our whispering canyon adr. I was really excited to try it but our whole point was to go for the antics. The food doesn’t look that great so we will be skipping it now.

Us, too! We had never been there and looked forward to being harassed lol. We have reservations the day of our MNSSHP but think we will cancel, too

I'm really excited as it is our first time to WDW and the party and I just got a reservation for Sleepy Hollow for 19th oct. We are celebrating my son's birthday and he loves horses!! He would be sorprised for sure!!

Just dropping in to post a quick note and will be back in full swing on Monday. First Happy Mother's Day to you! Since your son is celebrating his birthday at WDW you should check out the DIS thread "Disney Fort Wilderness" if you have any down time or room in your itinerary Fort Wilderness offers horse rides. Just a thought. You can even hang by the stables and on MNSSHP nights see the Headless Horseman. Is you son's birthday on Oct 19th?

Currently we have 5:05 Ohana dinner reservations on party day. I just snagged breakfast Ohana reservations for 11:55 that same day. Which one would you cancel?? We've done dinner at Ohana before but never breakfast. Our original plan for that day was 8:15 BBB reservations for my DD at MK. Grab quick service and head back to the room to rest. Head to dinner and then to the party.

Could you ask your daughter what she would rather do?

I could definitely ask my kids which would they would rather, but I'm trying to decide if Ohana at 5:05 on MNSSHP night is too late. We've never been to the Halloween party so trying to plan accordingly.

I personally wouldn't do Ohana that late, but that is my personal preference. When we pay for an upcharge event we like to use every second possible.

That is kind of what I'm thinking. We could spend the morning at MK, head to Ohana for breakfast at 11:55, go back to the room to rest then go back to MK for 4pm for the party. We could just get QS for dinner.

Our list of things we’d like to do....
•meet jack and Sally
•meet Moana
•meet belle and Gaston
•parade
•fireworks
•hocus Pocus
•trick or treating
•dance party

Hi and :welcome: to the party! I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! Is this your first time attending the MNSSHP? Ohana is a very lovely restaurant, one that you should take your time and enjoy all that they have to offer without feeling rushed. It is also notorious for running late which puts you at an even greater disadvantage for meeting Jack & Sally and Moana. Most likely you'll arrive at MK around 7:30+/- which by the then the party is at full swing and long lines for characters have been established.

I recommend you evaluate your other itineraries and move this ADR to a more conducive time to spend with your family.

I have added your itinerary to the MAIN page so please do not repost your itinerary. If you make any changes via the EDIT feature just drop a note I know where to find you. :-)

I was in your same shoes last year - on top of dealing with Irma.
@FoxC63 got me all straightened out!

No matter what, remember you're on vacation - and a bad day at Disney is better than a good day at work.
If the plan falls apart, it'll still be ok.

Thank you so much! I'm going check it out right now. I actually just posted that I scored a 11:55 Ohana breakfast reservation for that day. Was debating changing our reservations.
