Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

This was my experience as well. I got a phone call a day or two after I booked BWI CL, but nothing after booking Poly CL. I did, however, receive a card for both trips. Definitely a lot of inconsistency with CL services.

I agree completely! I also got booklets in advance for all of my stays.

I am going to wait and spring it on DH when we arrive to check in to ME in a couple of weeks but I couldn't help myself, I switched our stay over Memorial Day from CSR to not only BWI but to BWI CL! DGD will be with us and we normally don't upgrade our stays when we bring her along since we tend to stay longer when she's with us but this one is only 6 nights at Disney, since she voted to do 3 nights at Universal (shhhhh, I know!)

Like many of you, we use the lounge offerings as dinner. And we can get a full breakfast up there too, so that leaves us only needing to buy 1 meal out in the park. That right there can cover a pretty decent chunk of the price difference. Not to mention adult beverages. DH and I can consume a chunk of the price difference in adult beverages too. Especially since BWI lets you grab beers and doesn't make you open them (as some lounges have done in the past at least)

So we'll start out early with breakfast in the lounge, head to the parks for 3, 4 hours, grab lunch, back to the resort for a swim, clean up, then back out to the parks after we grab something to eat in the lounge.

So, my trick I have up my sleeve is I'm going to pretend to bury my MB down deep in my bag when we fly in, having already made sure DH has his handy. That way, he's the first one to scan and he learns that we are going back to BWI, not CSR. Nothing against CSR but I really didn't want to stay there. We didn't have a great experience the one time we tried them and I keep saying I am going to give them another try, and I am. Just maybe on a shorter stay, in case things go south again

ETA - Forgot to mention our dates, in case anyone else is around at the same time
We check in 5/26, out 6/1
At least right now.
I am tossing around a split stay and moving over to POR for the last 2 nights, to get in a YeeHa Bob fix (DGD's favorite). I know we can go even without staying there but it would also cut the costs down a bit. If we do we'll go to Galactic Nights. If we stay put at BWI I'll likely not add that on
So happy for you! Enjoy your stay!!

How weird, that it is so inconsistent.
I have had at least 12, probably more CL stays, I don't remember exactly when DSS took over, and only received one card and that was earlier this year. I have a two resort split CL stay coming up and have not heard from them. For me it has been very consistent...i never hear from them.

I have gotten a card for all my maybe and finally kept trips booked .

I have gotten calls for some of them. I think mostly calls for trips with a
'Soon" date like less than 3 months away.

:offtopic:

I know there are a few 7/4’ers on this thread. FYI, park hours for 7/3 and 7/4 were updated today. Here’s a thread with more info: 7/3 & 7/4 Park Hours Updated

MK has some really attractive EMH time on 7/3... 12am-2am!
:scared1:! Those hours will definitely be attractive to my DD14 and her friend that is going with us...I guess I won’t get any sleep on the 3rd! Not that I will go with them, but they’ll wake me up when they get back:rotfl:!

Well I haven't got anything, but I don't need anything either.:) But I have gotten a card when we returned home from a couple of our other stays, which none were club level.

We are staying cl at wl in June... does the lounge there have water bottles that you can take with you to the pool or a park? Thanks!

From from I have read, this may be the one thing they may or may not have, which is absurd. I think it may be because the profit margin on water may be through the roof and they had rather sell it verses give it away. I always bring my own water with me to Disney to keep in our room, and I will do it next month as well, even for the nights we are CL.

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've posted here. DW and I have a forthcoming trip at AKL CL or Poly CL (can't decide yet), and we've been using DSS to help us make some reservations for umbrellas and cabanas at waker parks.

Specifically, we wanted to make advanced reservations for the, so-called, “private island” at Blizzard Beach. Last year, we “discovered” when we checked-in for our umbrella that this space had been recently converted to clamshells (slightly more expensive, though it does guarantees the location), so we asked DSS to make reservations for clamshells. However, we've just been told that advanced reservations could be made only for umbrellas and cabanas; clamshells were available directly at the water parks, only for same-day reservations.

We felt this is somewhat unexpected: why would not Disney be happy that we pre-pay for something several months before? We've not decided yet what to do, but we'll probably end up not going at Blizzard Beach as many days that we originaly planned: we're not going to pay for cabanas because we're going in August, and these are not shelter, and if we pay for umbrellas, why not go to Typhoon Lagoon that we enjoy more. Of course, we still have the possibility to make reservation for umbrellas, rope-drop in the hope to upgrade them to clamshells, but heck… rope dropping a water park, and take the chance to be disappointed if rules changed meantime and none of the clamshells are available is not how we plan to enjoy our vacation.

I'm sharing this here because I know many DISboarders use DSS to make reservations for the water parks, it might be helpful to someone!

In case it helps, we arrived at Blizzard Beach around 15 minutes after opening during our visit towards the second half of August last year and had no problems reserving the clamshells. We actually tried asking the CR CL castmember the day before we went to BB to help us check on the availability for cabanas, umbrellas or clamshells and he said he couldn’t do it nor would call to see if it were available. Maybe only DSS can do it? The kids ended up not liking the clamshells at all because there were many large black ants but the location was great.

Got a phone call today for one of our stays. I have to admit I couldn't tell when she said the dates if she said end of May, first of June or July. I'm guessing she called about the trip coming up since it's the one I just booked. I did the one in July a couple weeks ago

At least I had a good excuse to tell DH for a reason for the call. We were in the car, shopping for a new car of all things

It's weird the CR CL CMs were not able to help you with cabanas/umbrellas/clamshells reservation. We make a lot of reservation at the water parks, sometimes last-minute, and the CL CMs at the AKL and SL were always able to help up with that (plus they were also able to make cancellations).

Back to the clamshell topic, we know that availability in August should be fine. Our issue is that, we don't like BB as much as TL, but we do like the clamshells at BB, which means that, on the days we want to go to BB, we will make reservations for umbrellas and “hope” that there will be availability for the clamshells. If the rules change before we get there, or if we're just not early enough to have a clamshell, we'll probably be a little bit disappointed not being able to buy the upsell, and would wish we had rented umbrellas at TL instead.

I still don't understand this “no-advanced-reservation-for-clamshells” rule. There are so few clamshells anyway (only four), even if someone doesn't show up, they could re-sell the space to another family.

Hello! My niece and I just returned from a BWI club level stay last week. We had room 4261 which is right over the Flying Fish; it's the one with the big balcony.

This is the view of the evening busker from the balcony. It was a great view but you could hear the noise inside the room with the balcony doors closed. Regardless, I would love to have this room again! It was quite spacious with a small table and three chairs and still room to walk around!

The view of the balcony from inside the room gives a bit of a view on how big it was.

Hey that's MY room lol!

That room was great! Mom md I had it in November. I loved watching the action from up there. I even watched HEA/MK from there.
