Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

That just happened to me as well for our AKL CL stay. I got a call within days of booking it. Then about a week later we booked a split stay with the CR CL and didn't get a call for that. We have gone many times over the years and have never got a call before - I have received emails but not a call - it was nice. That is one of the problems with Disney is that their CL services is not the same across the board or even the same with each guest.

Enjoy the Poly - it is one of our favorite resorts.

This was my experience as well. I got a phone call a day or two after I booked BWI CL, but nothing after booking Poly CL. I did, however, receive a card for both trips. Definitely a lot of inconsistency with CL services.

Just FYI, since I mainly serve my kids lounge food for dinner (parent of the year)... most of the CLs we’ve tried (which is all but YC) do have at least one or two evening offerings geared towards kids. Generally PBJs, chicken fingers, mini pigs in a blanket, mini-corn dogs, apple slices, etc. BWI has been the only place we’ve tried that really didn’t have anything.

Last month at AKL the kids options were mini-corn dogs, cut up Uncrustables, apple slices with sauces, and chicken fingers (not all on the same night, generally two per evening on a rotation).

Thanks everyone for responding! We are parents of the year too, and have used the CL for dinner for our kids. Because it’s August we usually do a TS lunch for a break from the heat. This info will help me plan for some dinners if the CL food doesn’t work. Will take advantage of being so close to Epcot!

I stayed at Grand Floridian club level on my last Easter 2018 trip and was very disappointed in the food. I wrote about it in my trip report but not only was it very basic it was also badly stocked and some days they would literally just put out chunks of cheese and no crackers or bread or meat to eat it with. Not very pregnant, aged or child friendly in general. Soya milk was never put out for tea/coffee. I am very disappointed in the cheapness of whoever is doing the food ordering for the lounge. I don't come to Disney for cereal breakfasts and Mickey Waffles only every 3rd day. I don't want cheese and crackers when other CL lounges get sushi and make your own burgers. Not good enough.

The concierge team are beyond amazing and basically do everything for you. They were beyond great and from that aspect they make your trip a lot less stressful. That part was amazing.

Room was standard. Very standard. And the Theme Park View was not as good as the non-CL view. Very hit or miss!

I like to minimize time spent complaining on vacation, but if I am at RPC and I get served chunks of cheese and not much else, you better believe I am going to be making some noise. :confused3 :headache: :sad2: :hippie:

This is where I went wrong. The servers keeping the area clean were so kind and overworked cleaning stuff off the floor that people threw around (there was a kids food fight that I had the displeasure of witnessing) I felt so bad so I said nothing because I felt like I would be complaining to the wrong person. I should have gone to front desk and said something!

Yes. I ain't paying 1k/night for chunks of cheese. wth Portofino Bay in Universal puts out twice the food for half the price. I know it's Disney and all but chunks of cheese seems punitive.

re: kids food fight: I would have put on my best teacher voice (not a teacher) and had a word with the parents. Not acceptable.

I am going to wait and spring it on DH when we arrive to check in to ME in a couple of weeks but I couldn't help myself, I switched our stay over Memorial Day from CSR to not only BWI but to BWI CL! DGD will be with us and we normally don't upgrade our stays when we bring her along since we tend to stay longer when she's with us but this one is only 6 nights at Disney, since she voted to do 3 nights at Universal (shhhhh, I know!)

Like many of you, we use the lounge offerings as dinner. And we can get a full breakfast up there too, so that leaves us only needing to buy 1 meal out in the park. That right there can cover a pretty decent chunk of the price difference. Not to mention adult beverages. DH and I can consume a chunk of the price difference in adult beverages too. Especially since BWI lets you grab beers and doesn't make you open them (as some lounges have done in the past at least)

So we'll start out early with breakfast in the lounge, head to the parks for 3, 4 hours, grab lunch, back to the resort for a swim, clean up, then back out to the parks after we grab something to eat in the lounge.

So, my trick I have up my sleeve is I'm going to pretend to bury my MB down deep in my bag when we fly in, having already made sure DH has his handy. That way, he's the first one to scan and he learns that we are going back to BWI, not CSR. Nothing against CSR but I really didn't want to stay there. We didn't have a great experience the one time we tried them and I keep saying I am going to give them another try, and I am. Just maybe on a shorter stay, in case things go south again

ETA - Forgot to mention our dates, in case anyone else is around at the same time
We check in 5/26, out 6/1
At least right now.
I am tossing around a split stay and moving over to POR for the last 2 nights, to get in a YeeHa Bob fix (DGD's favorite). I know we can go even without staying there but it would also cut the costs down a bit. If we do we'll go to Galactic Nights. If we stay put at BWI I'll likely not add that on

Sounds like someone has caught the BWI CL bug.... :rolleyes1

Oh, we both did that years ago. It's our favorite by far. Most of the others we've done we can easily pass on. But I just can't go back to BWI and NOT do CL now.
Only other one we want to try again someday is WL. I want to try their new lounge sometime. If we ever get down there for DH's birthday we'll do that

I agree, bwi WITH cl is almost needed. I really enjoyed the conveniences with those long halls lol. All food is outside is not convenient (expect the belle vue lounge but doesnt offer much).

I showed DD23 that thing you mentioned on bwi thread for the apple watch and "puck". Of course she needs one now. Thx

Ill be at GF and plan on epcot 5/26 . Im the lady with the dole whip magic band.

YEHAA BOB IS THE BEST!!!
:offtopic:
I absolutely LOVE that man!
(Thanks for letting me chime in! Lol)

We are leaving for BWI CL tomorrow. I never got a phone call, email, or even a card. Nothing.

We are the same way. Stayed at the BWI regular room in 2002. In 2005 we decided to splurge and stay Club level. Have never looked back. Love everything about it especially the cast members. What an awesome group.

When we had Signature Services book our fastpasses there was a hold on Toy Story Mania fastpass I guess due to the expansion. I saw that they reopened to book fastpass for TSM so I called today and was able to get them so anyone going you may want to call if you were hoping for fastpass. Sitting here waiting for our Magic Bands it's showing delivery today of course it's 6:15 pm I'm thinking they aren't coming. Tracking says not delivered so I'm just hoping they didn't lose them o_O:earseek: 24 DAYS! :Pinkbounc

My ADR window for the non-CL first part of my split stay opened yesterday. I called DSS to see if they could book Hoop-Dee-Doo for me on our transition day since we would be staying CL that night and the CM was happy to help. She needed both reservation numbers and was then able to book it with the gift card. Not a huge deal I know but I had to call to pay with a gift card and I really didn't want to wait on hold for Disney dining, DSS answered within a couple minutes and about 10 mins later I had an email confirmation on it.
