Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Has anyone dropped off a rental car at Dolphin? Thinking of renting a car from National at MCO for our first night since we're offsite, picking up some random supplies the next morning (like water bottles, maybe snacks, wouldn't object to grabbing a bottle of wine...) on our way to BC, we'd then drop the car at Dolphin walk on down to the dock and head to Epcot. Sounds easy in theory (originally we'd planned to Uber but after not great experiences last trip our own car is sounding nicer even for just one day and would allow us a supplies type stop) but I want to make sure I'm not making some glaringly obvious mistake (like "omg dropping rental cars at Dolphin is the most horrible experience ever") by doing this!

Dropping off at the Dolphin is easy. They are only open from 8:00 until 4:00 (I believe), but you can drop off after they close. (You can't get a car before they open, but that does not affect your situation.) You'll want to price it out though. Sometimes it costs more to drop off at a different location, sometimes it does not. I have no idea of the rhyme or reason for that, but it can give you different pricing. If you're good with the price, the Dolphin is convenient and easy.

I’m heading to Beach Club this week and I was planning on having dinner in Epcot Wednesday night. I had my heart set on the Norwegian Club sandwich at Kringla Bakeri and just found out that it’s closed until summer. I noticed on the menu for the Beach Club Marketplace they now list a sub your way and a salad your way. Has anyone tried these and have any info on ingredients, are they any good?

Thanks!

You may know this already, but in case not: The bakery in Norway is closed, but they opened a kiosk nearby with some of the same menu. Online shows the Norway club is available. I have not verified in person.

Also: Generally, I find the sandwiches at Marketplace just okay. YMMV.

Oooh do you have a pic of the hoodie????

Sorry, no. It is a plain white cotton hoodie with eh YC logo in blue on the upper left chest area. Nothing on the back. I love it but sadly, I won’t be getting it. I take a large/ size 14 normally. But the large hoodie was way too tight & they didn’t have extra large. The CM said the inventory was very limited & the staff was speculating that maybe they were going to be redesigned soon. Hope they make the sizing better!

Yes, I am aware that the bakery is closed, that’s why I posted. Thanks for the info about the kiosk, I’ll look for the club sandwich there. As for the Marketplace sandwiches, I believe this is a brand new menu so I was looking to see if someone has recent experience with the new items.

We tried the salad at BC marketplace this past November and it was really good. The choice of toppings was not that large but they were good choices. It was a huge salad so my husband and I split it.

Some desserts from YC: Mickey head flourless chocolate cakes, hot apple crumble mini pie, no bake cheesecake. All are wonderful. The Mickey cake is really like a moouse. The apple pie is served warm from one of the hot food pans. The desserts have been the same every night: Rice Krispie treats, frosted brownies, pana cotta, no bake cheesecakes, Mickey flourless cakes, warm apple pie, strawberry, vanilla & red velvet cupcakes & oatmeal, sugar & chocolate chip cookies. So while the options are all the same, there are quite a few of them.

Dee, I took a picture of the large shared balcony from the lounge. You can see by the awnings on the floors below that there are 3 rooms between the lounge & that balcony. The first long railing just to the right is part of the lounge area - it is the part that was expanded. The first rom number next to the lounge is 5170. So 5170, 72 & 74 are private balconies. Shared balcony starts at 5176.

Breakfast yesterday morning had the crepes which we did not try because we were eating at Cape May. This morning has the mini quiche.

These are from snacks Sunday, I haven’t seen danish or muffins in the afternoon before. Maybe they just had left overs from breakfast. The pita bread was new to me too. There were pita chips & hummus plus the pita bread but no chips & dip. Saturday & Monday has chips & dip.

We did that same thing a number of years ago and it wasn't a problem at all. We wanted a rental car for a few days, but then didn't need it after that. Sounds like you won't be walking back to BC from Dolphin, but if you were, just to keep in mind it's a bit of walk if you aren't used to walking much. Some people would find it a longer walk than others.

We booked our first stay at beach club for October 26-30! We are so excited to stay there and experience Halloween for the first time! We booked standard view through a ta. I think we want king bed most of all so that’s what I had her call in for us.
Hi! I'm not the official greeter of the group, but welcome. You will NOT be disappointed in your stay. Then again, everyone here loves BC so you won't get any arguments. We've stayed at a few different resorts, but BC is my favorite. Have a wonderful trip!

I do this every trip. Just pull up to dolphin, let them know you’re dropping off rental, the attendants there will come scan your rental car and hand you a receipt and off you go.

Thank you! We are really excited. We have never been in the fall and we both have wanted to stay at beach club for awhile. I’m really excited for the pool! You know when people say “my kid liked the pool best out of everything at Disney”? I’m that kid lol. The pools don’t beat everything but I love being able to swim when it’s cold back home.

Oh my goodness prepare to be SPOILED by SAB!!! There's nothing like this pool :)

The sand on the bottom looks awesome! I just hope we get good weather while we are there. I'm only planning one rest day, but we may have to move things around if it rains.

The sand bottom is our favorite part! We usually stay for only one night before our cruise and honestly, sometimes I look forward to that one day just as much as the cruise! September is a great time to go :)

Ooooo crepes! That's new to CL isn't it? I've stayed BC, BWI, & YC CL twice & have never seen crepes at breakfast. It's been awhile since I've checked in on this thread. I check in 5/12 for 2 nights CL before moving to BWV for 2 nights. I'm just hoping for chips. So sad they don't sell them at BC Marketplace anymore. They did have them at AKL CL in Feb. I think I ate my weight in them. I have no plans to hit the parks on check in day Sat. so I plan to camp myself in the lounge & make the most of the free snacks. ::yes::
