Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi there... I have several questions about check in I'm hoping someone can answer?

- Can someone tell me what the pros/cons are to checking in early online vs in person?
- How can I specify that we want two doubles for our room? I went to preview the room location requests for YC and it only gives me upper floor, lower floor, ground floor or water view.
- I'm not sure what our hotel pin number is YIKES, it says I need to change it at the front desk, can it be done by phone at this point?
- Finally, any insight as to what this means?
MagicBand Order
Opting out of your new MagicBand may allow you to go directly to your room upon arrival. Just remember to bring an active MagicBand with you.

We have magic bands from 2 years ago but I'm guessing will get the new ones in the mail, will those let us go to our room upon arrival if it's ready?

I'm so very confused, everything is so high tech lol!

Thanks in advance for any insight!!!

A little out of order, but: for the 2 bed request (it is 2 queens at YC, not doubles btw), call the reservation line & add that as a request.

Did you customize your magic bands? If you did, you should get them in the mail. If you declined new bands, just bring your old ones. They will work fine as long as you did not deactivate them. If you did, reactivate them before you go. If you didn't customize or decline, they will have the standard grey ones waiting for you when you check in.

The PIN will have to be reset at the lobby desk. I don't know of anyway you can do it over the phone. Although if I am wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me & tell you how to do it.

If you do online check in, you get an option to receive texts from Disney. This is how you find out if your room is ready & lets you go directly to your room if it is. And if you get the "room ready text" your magic bands (new or old) will let you in the room. So this is a big benefit of online check in. You may not need to go to the check in desk at all. But in your case, sounds like you will have to stop there at some point to reset your PIN. As a reminder, you need that PIN if you intend to charge anything to your room, at shops or restaurants & to authorize any dining plan use. So you will need to stop there pretty early on your trip anyway.

So the advantage to online check in is that you may be able to go directly to your room. But even if you don't, it does make the check in process quicker, because they have all your information already in the system.

Someone asked about requesting two doubles. (I messed up in quoting for my reply.)

I agree with what someone else said. Online check-in is good because you might be able to skip the front desk (whether using new Magic Bands or old ones). "Opting out" of Magic Bands is for people who already have plenty and don't want any more.

I agree that if you have any requests, you should call the Disney reservation phone number and have the person add them to your reservation. The on-line room requests have been problematic. Sometimes it shows requests which only apply to a different hotel. Sometimes it doesn't show requests which it should for your hotel. Sometimes it says that it already has your requests on file even though you didn't make any. So if you decide to do online check-in, I suggest that you skip the room request part of the online check-in process.

Also - I don't think you said which hotel you are staying at. Off the top of my head, I believe both Yacht Club and Beach Club rooms have either king size beds or queen size beds. No double beds. But I stay at Beach Club Villas and haven't stayed on the hotel side for years, so I don't pay much attention to the beds over there. You should be sure about that before you call, so you don't put in a request for something that doesn't exist. (And I personally would not assume that the person answering the phone would know the answer.)

With the AP discount that came out and a pin code I got, I was able to change the POFQ part of our split stay to AKL standard view, and upgrade our BC reservation from standard view to garden view! Woohoo! So we have 1 night at Pop (6/21), 4 nights AKL (6/22-26) and 9 nights BC (6/26-7/5). This is very similar to our trip last June, except it's one more night at BC that we had last year. I'm super excited! Last year we got upgraded to garden view and had a great room on the 2nd floor overlooking the volleyball court area with an amazing side view of the lagoon. I've requested the same area this year so fingers crossed! I'll be happy with whatever but I really don't want to be all the way on the end basically in Epcot.

No, that's not accurate. Here is info on YC's Pool/Lagoon View, directly from Disney's website:

Well, that is bull. For what they upcharge for a Lagoon View, I would be SO MAD with just a view of the quiet pool.

I know that is what the official site says, but I can't believe they would actually do that. Touring Plans room finder does not show any Lagoon view rooms with a quiet pool view at YC (at BC, since the quiet pool is in front, that one may have a quiet pool view, but you can also see the lagoon).

There are no cons to doing online check in. You can go to the front desk when you arrive even if you did online check in. There is a disadvantage to not doing online check in. You will not receive a room ready text and you will have to go to the front desk.

How can I specify that we want two doubles for our room?
I would guess that 97% of the rooms have two queen beds. But if you want to be sure of that, then you would call central reservations and add the request verbally.

I'm not sure what our hotel pin number is YIKES, it says I need to change it at the front desk, can it be done by phone at this point?
If it says that you already have a pin code when you do online check in, then you are good to go to complete online check in. Then when you arrive you would set a new pin code at the front desk.

You will want to get new Magic Bands. There is a new style now that is more comfortable to wear than the old ones. Plus, everyone has the new bands. You don't see too many people with the old style anymore. :)

The internal Disney system: Lagoon or Pool View rooms offer views of a quiet pool or Crescent Lake. A few rooms offer a view of Stormalong Bay.

reading over the pool info.... So children cannot wear a Coast Guard approved Puddle Jumper brought from home in the big pirate slide? My DD5 can swim without one, but I usually have her wear one at water parks and on big slides.

That has been our experience. However, they do have plenty of life vests available at the pool that she can wear if it will help you and/or her feel better. :thumbsup2

Moving us back to page 1 and saying HI! from the YC!! :goodvibes We arrived a little bit ago after a 6am flight. We are staying club level & there are a few changes since we were here last year. The food service times are the same, but the lounge area is now open 24 hours. And they have added quiche & crepes to the morning offerings. More later!

It sounds great. How do you like the remodeled room?

Sounds fab. Have a great time :)

My husband and I will be staying at the BC CL for 8 nights. My daughter and her boyfriend want to stay with us for the first 2 nights of our vacation (they're moving on to Bonnet Creek for a week). They don't want to pay for a room, since our room sleeps 4.

Does anyone know approximately how much more they will be charged or if they will be able to use the CL lounge? I don't know if they can do this without staying the entire 8 days.

I figured I'd asked here before I called Disney.

This is a first for us.

Awesome, thank you for taking the time to answer all of my questions!!!! It helped so much :)

You will be charged for 2 additional adults in the room (I don't know the precise amount per additional adult; somewhere in the $25-$35 range) for each night they stay with you. They would also be able to use the Club Lounge for those days.

Depending on the CM you get on the phone, it may be necessary to just add them to your reservation and have the CMs in the Club Lounge take them off the day they move over to Bonnet Creek.

This has me really excited! I hope those changes are still around in a little over a month. I wanted to triple like it but it won't let me! Please keep us updated!
