I love credit cards so much!

question regarding SWA cards as they are currently- b/c of the new limits on the personal cards, a double card cp option would likely have to be a biz+ personal- is the swa biz like other Chase biz cards? would it count towards 5/24 if I applied at 3/24? I'm debating what to do with 2 upcoming slots in our rotation. I was saving them for the 'old' get a cp route, but now I'm planning (if nothing else pops up) a pers/biz combo for that.... I think my question is if I did another personal now(not chase) that would leave only 1 slot left for swa when the time arrives, and could I do the biz app with one slot?

DETAILS Released for rumored NEW SOUTHWEST card:
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/rumor-chase-will-launch-premium-southwest-card/

- $150 annual fee
- 70,000 point signup bonus (no mention of spend required)
- possible A1-A15 boarding upgrade (I really wonder about this one though - Southwest may be underestimating just how many of their flyers could potentially have this card)

EDIT: I’m honestly pretty shocked at that low of an AF. I eat my words from the other day...but it also isn’t much of a premium card if you ask me. (I interpet that to mean high AF and some premium benefits like travel reimbursements, TsaPre, etc.). That won’t stop me from wanting to apply though ;) haha!
this would be a dream come true, esp if I could combine with another swa product (if there's another one left lol)

We are expecting this to be under 5/24 (sorry #1) and also require you to not currently hold a SW personal card (sorry #2) and not have earned a signup bonus in the past 24 months on any SW personal card (potential sorry #3) :(
so I guess this might answer my question..... that's what I get for getting behind by a day on reading here...... I need to keep 2 slots open for swa fancy footwork, even if I'm not yet sure what that will entail.

The dates for one of my horse shows in Tulsa, OK just came online for this August so I've been scoping out hotels/flights this morning. Shockingly, flights out of our home airport (RIC) are $40-$50 cheaper than they are out of the bigger airports in DC. The flight times are actually decent too! I also found a Marriott Courtyard we can stay at for 4 nights for 30,000 points total!! :worship:

Speaking of Marriott, can someone help me determine how many Marriott points I will earn from an upcoming stay? Staying at a Marriott (not a Courtyard or Fairfield or anything) and total price was $324. I'll be paying with my Marriott Biz so I'm Silver Elite right now. In googling it looks like I'll earn 10 points per dollar spent at a Marriott, and then do I earn extra 5 points per dollar on top of that for my credit card?

Yeah I think you basically have it. A SW Biz shouldn't count as a 5/24 slot though :) We'll all need to stay posted on this one, the card release is anticipated in July so that's not too far away.

Rethinking my plans for a CIP because of the new restriction on personal SW cards. Now I think I'll open a SW Biz card which will be my 2nd Chase Biz card (I have CIC), then open the new "premier" SW card after that, all in Q4.
And then I'll have DH open a CIP after he's at 4/24. Eventually, I'll cancel the SW Biz and then get a CIP for myself. It's going to take about a year from now for all the pieces to fall into place since we're both over 5/24 now. But that should result in a SW CP for 2019 & 2020.

This DP should interest those who are looking to double dip SW personal cards for CP: Applied for both Chase SW personal cards on Saturday using the 50K public links, and was instantly approved for both. Hopefully both bonuses will actually post, and I can get the CP.

The old 50k RR links don't have the new restrictive language, right?

I continue to think that you can double dip the SW Plus, Premier and likely the new "Premium" cards despite Chase's new "One personal SW card rule," just like how double dipping the CSP and CSR on the same day gets around the "One Sapphire rule," with the same caveat that you can't get the bonus for either the Sapphire or personal SW cards if you got a bonus on another Sapphire or personal SW card in the last 24 months.

So in the coming months, getting the SW CP might look like:
• Double dipping SW "Premium" (70k RR) + SW Plus/Premier (40k RR) = instant CP (110k RR), while at 4/24 and under, but taking up two slots; or
• Apply for SW Biz (60k RR?) and apply when there's an elevated SW Plus/Premier offer (50k+ RR), or apply for the SW Biz and SW Plus/Premier (at 40k RR) and spend $10k to get those points towards CP, or apply for the SW Biz and SW "Premium" (70k RR), all while at or under 4/24, with Biz not adding to */24 but Plus/Premier/"Premium" will count.

I am so excited to get to Disney but we get off the plane, and always head straight to the bathroom.
then gotta snap a few pics with the Mickey outside the Earport,
then make our way to DME so we can stand and wait to be let on the bus and then sit on the bus for 30 mins so they can fill every stinking seat before we leave.
typing all that just made me miss WDW really badly :(

Yes, yes, yes, and YES!

Reading this (too fast!) yesterday I thought "Earport" was a fun Disney nickname for MCO- after some coffee this morning it all of the sudden occurred to me "Earport" could be the name of the disney gift shop at mco. After re-reading this and a quick google I'm so disappointed now...

Love it when all the stars align and you get great deals!

For Marriott, if $324 is your base price - not including taxes, etc. - then it would be 10 x 324 = 3240 base points. Add in your bonus points for being Silver [0.20 x 3240 = 648], and you should see 3240 + 648 points = 3888 points. These will show up fairly quickly in your Marriott account, within two weeks of your stay. The extra 5 points per dollar on the credit card will post when your credit card statement closes, and those points will then get transferred over to your Marriott account, usually within two days. Keep in mind if you have an SPG credit card, you could get the equivalent of 6 points per dollar because SPG cards earn 2 pts per dollar at Marriott and one Starpoint is equal to three Marriott points.

Also, don't forget to sign up for Marriott Megabonus right now - 750 extra points per night starting with the third night (only paid nights count).

Thanks! $324 is my total price but I'm confused because the Marriott websites says 10 points/dollar for all qualifying charges, but then for things like Courtyards, Fairfields, etc. it says X points/dollar for all ROOM RATES. So I guess is qualifying charges just things like room service, etc?

I signed up for all the available promotions, but I don't think any of them are going to work for me since my trip falls right smack dab in the middle of their promotions. One promotion ends 4/15 and the next one starts 4/16. I am staying three nights starting 4-15 through 4/18 :sad2:

I think you're right. That agrees with what I've read on the Marriott Insiders website.

Drats!

Oh and I'll be in the Orlando airport in two days. I just cannot wait to see the fountains, the Earport, feel the energy there...We don't get to go to the parks but get this, I decided to do one of those Hotwire Hotdeals (could NOT decide on an offsite hotel for just one night to save my life) so I decided to let Hotwire decide for me. I got POFQ! For $116 tax and all. Sorry if I already posted this here but I was shocked and I'm excited. It's only one night as we are in a different hotel each night but thrilled to just get be at Disney for a night.

Oh wow, how cool! That's a great price too! I've always wanted to stay there but they were usually excluded from free dining, which used to be my discount of choice. I've visited when staying at POR and thought it was such a nice small hotel. Have fun! At least you will be immersed in some Disney even though you won't be going to the parks!

My 1,000 bonus UR points just posted to my account on the Apple Pay offer I had on my CFU. Interestingly, it was the 6th Apple Pay transaction that has the bonus points attached, and not the fifth.

If you're an ******, then we are too. :flower3: We've done that a time or two. BUT, we also like to sit in the back, so we generally have no problem sitting together. I'm a weirdo who likes to be in the very last row and it's literally often the last row to fill up. There have been several times I was flying alone and because I sat in the last row, I ended up with nobody next to me. That makes it worth having to wait to get off the plane for me.:)

Not churning related, but...when we went to WDW on SW, we were flying from Sacramento and we had two stops where we were not allowed off the plane and we were on that plane for 12 HOURS! :crazy2: It was tortuous. Of course, I picked those flights because they were the cheapest, but now I know that if you're not changing planes, they won't let you get off at all because of the fast turn-around.

It probably depends on time for the turn around. We did philly to vegas with a stop in midway and they let us off while they were refilling the plane before boarding. I think we had 15 minutes or less, but it was enough to stretch legs and hit the bathroom. They asked us all to stay after everyone deplaned, took the head count, and then let us off if we wanted. They took headcount again right before they started the boarding process.

I might consider doing EB next time on our return flight - simply because I don't want to plan my vacation around flight check-in (major downer). My DD and her friend are almost adults, so it wasn't a big deal really, but I would have stressed out if they were younger.

That's the only time I've bought EB is for the return flight if check in fell while we were on a cruise. I should have done it when we went to CO last year as I found us in the middle of national park with 1 shaky bar of service around check in time. I didn't think that one through :)

I think it's all in what you're used to. I've flown Southwest about 20:1 vs. other airlines and any other airline drives me up a wall now. I don't think it's because Southwest's way is better, I think it's just because I'm so used to it. I don't have a tally on this (shocking for me, I know!) but I'd imagine between vacations and business I've flown over 50 round trip flights on Southwest in the past decade.

I'm with you. I only fly other airlines for work now and it drives me batty how they do boarding. It takes twice as long as SW and invariably I manage to get on flights where they still reseat people after. I was so happy a couple years ago when they added SW to the travel portal we have to use. I still don't always get to pick SW but that's my first try :) They are certainly not luxurious but they seem the most efficient.

We have never stayed there either! We did stay at POR once but never made it over to FQ. I've always read good things and wanted to try it so I'm excited just for the one night and see how we like it. And YES, get immersed for the night!!
