** OPENING DAY PRICING MID 2019: Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy **

I only have the total, so I'm not sure how much is tax, but...

S Dream 7/17 4-night Double Dip - Cat 5A 1-adult no ins/transfers/OBB - 4110.34 (so for 2 adults it would just be the extra tax) - sorry for no breakdown.

It depends. They're cheaper if they're popular cruises. Unusual itineraries, school breaks, etc., will increase in price faster than the typical sailings in the off season. If I were looking to book a typical 3 or 4 night on the Dream or a 7 night on the Fantasy in September, I wouldn't make myself crazy with opening day booking (but room selection doesn't much matter to me). Those prices aren't likely to increase in the first few days (or hours as has been the case with some of the Magic itineraries).
In the rare case where it doesn't get booked, they may drop prices close to the cruise date. That happened on my fantasy sailing the other week that was $4300 for 3 adults on a guaranteed balcony for 7 nights.

Finally got things booked with Costco. Here's our info:

S - Wonder 8/12/19 7 night Alaska 9B 2A1K (6) 2275 / 2275 / 1234.80 + 1208.79 tax = 6993.59 no ins/trans/air/OBB

For comparison, we have the exact same cruise (down to the stateroom!) that we booked on opening Silver day last year for 8/13/18 (which we'll be cancelling to do 2019 instead). The fares went up a bit, but the big thing I see is that taxes/fees DOUBLED!? Does anyone know why? Is this right?

Here's the comparison I'm doing:

Last time we had an onboard booking, which came out to: 5024.88 fares + 570.27 tax/fees = 5595.15 total

When you extrapolate how much it would have been WITHOUT the onboard booking discount, you get: 5583.20 fares + 570.27 tax/fees (I had checked the fees/taxes on the website last year after booking and it was the same amount with or without OBB discount) = 6153.47

This year is: 5784.80 fares + 1208.79 tax/fees = 6993.59 total. So, the fares only went up $200 and the rest is tax/fees. Did port fees go up?

We will receive a $545 Costco Cash Card and 2% of the $5784.80 for our Executive Membership discount after cruising, so total about $660 back.

2 hours 20 minutes to get through, and then 2 hours 50 minutes on hold listening to Disney music - only 6 minutes to book! :)

Fantasy, June 1, 2019 7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Tortola, St. Thomas, Castaway, 3 at Sea)

S 4A 2A3K (13, 11, 11) $2576.70, $2576.70, $1323, $1270.08, $1270.08 + taxes/Fees/Port $527.60 TOTAL $9,544.16 No Ins/No ground/No Grat/ YES OBB

Same Itinerary and info but just different date (Jun15) - quote was $10,394.66 Total.

Question, if we have a hold, and choose to change stateroom categories, will we be "locked in" and eligible for the rates at the time we placed the hold, even if we have not paid a deposit? ..... did that come out right? y'all know what i mean....hopefully ;)

Anyone going to Alaska on the Wonder have info on their tax/fees? I'm browsing what I can find and wondering if there is a certain date during the summer that they increase? We're going mid-August and they are very high vs. what they were for 2018 and what I'm seeing on some earlier summer bookings posted here.

ETA: Now I'm really perplexed - our tax/fees are also twice as much as a couple of reports on here for the weeks right after us for similar bookings. Can any other Costco bookings weigh in on tax/fees?

Thanks so much!!! I'm looking at the 08-24 really wanted a Verandah but now I'm nervous my 2a2k budget is 7200. Wish we could go 9-7 but alas I'm a teacher! Also sorry I'm new to this what does OBB stand for?

Thank you! Do you know your fare amounts for the 2A1K? We're 2A1K in a 9B same cruise and tax/fees are $1200! Did you book through Disney or Costco?

OBB = on board booking. This is when you have cruised and while on the cruise, you can put a deposit down for a future cruise, an "on board booking" . 10% discount. plus some stateroom credit, depending on the length of the cruise.
