Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Are you CL, too? We'll be right down the hall!!!

... she said, in a "I swear I'm not a stalker" kind of way. :o

hahahahha Yes we are, first time for club level. We can't wait!!!!! Also going to try the extra fastpasses :thumbsup2
I keep telling myself I'm not leaving there until I book a return trip so I won't be as sad ::yes::

I'm still here, patiently waiting, still on for 2020!

In exciting news, I just figured out I can book at 499 days out (room only) this December! That's something, right? :rotfl: We normally never book that early, but with Star Wars Land opening in 2019 and Yacht Club being so close, I just want to make sure we've got something on the books. Can adjust package stuff later if we want when those prices come out.

It's so hard, normally we vacation other places, but this year in an effort to save for something else, we aren't going on vacation. :(
Pretty sure I didn't vote for that...

I usually always book real far out, it gives me something to look forward to and save up for!!!!!! Happy Planning :D

We LOVE YC CL. LOVE. And I decided to take the plunge and do the extra fastpasses for three days. The notion of Navi AND FOP AND Everest AND ROL after a morning at HS is just too much to resist. Throw in FINALLY getting to ride Frozen because it won't mean sacrificing Soarin' or Test Track, and it's done.

Booking the return trip helps a LOT. Bounceback rates are a beautiful thing. :cloud9:

I'd love to hear more about Club Level! Booking with the family & friends rate we were offered Club Level, but I turned it down. No regrets, but I'm interested in knowing that we should check it out next time! We are going for the Food & Wine Festival so I figured (for this trip at least) that we wouldn't really use the Club Level perks to their full advantage.

So I'm always looking for Disney apparel on ebay and saw a lot of strange merchandise from the Yacht Club. People are selling YC couches, ceiling lights, cushions, bed headboards, daybeds, SHOWER CURTAINS???? What? Do you think these items were lifted during the renovation? I just find it odd and as nostalgic as I am, I wouldn't want a used hotel shower curtain no mater what it had on it :(

I guess maybe they were bought at an auction but yikes.. the ceiling light is going for $250!

This is my philosophy too!! I never book CL during F&W! I am trying YC CL for the first time in about 7 years in May. I love the refurbished YC rooms and the location (I was stranded there during Irma!) so even if their CL isn't top-notch, it will be enjoyable I'm sure! ;)

Hey everyone!

What is your experience with Room Requests being honored? We are staying for our wedding in 19 days. Booked a garden/woods view room, and noted at the time of reservation we *really* would like a room overlooking the gazebo (that’s where our ceremony will be held :)). I also posted on here a while back for a direct line to reservations, which I have saved and I’m planning to call the week of. Have you usually had a positive experience with getting a room/view you really want at YC? I’m so nervous our request won’t be honored, and we hoped to have some family members watch our ceremony from the room (will make for great pictures ;) ) so I’m just starting to panic now with all the wedding jitters setting in! TIA for your input!
I have had good luck faxing requests via Touring Plans numbers. I find it helps when you have special situations like yours to request. We have had our birthday requests honored at the Poly twice now. Try a month before your arrival as that is when rooms are assigned.

Btw, years ago I had a room overlooking the gazebo and was lucky to witness a wedding with Mickey and Minnie. It was magical. Congratulations to you!

I wouldn't book it during F&W, either. The first time we stayed there, we were on the regular Dining Plan, and wound up leaving 5 QS meals on the table (no snack exchanges then). If a big chunk of your trip involves eating at multiple places, a la F&W, or you have the Dining Plan, CL is just expensively gilding the lily.

Breakfast is solid (oatmeal, grits, sliced meats and cheeses, multiple versions of carbs, etc.), mid-day snacks are kind of meh (a statement common to most (but not all!) CLs), but the evening apps and the desserts are pretty consistently great. For the YC portion of our upcoming trip, our ADRs are all lunches except for one PPO breakfast at Garden Grill, and outside of those I don't anticipate needing to purchase food beyond a snack here and there in the parks, thanks to the CL offerings. What's really nice is the alcohol, which is served all day. Yes, if you want a mimosa with your bagel, or a beer before lunch, you have to ask for it, but they'll bring it to you, no problem. Last year it rained SO MUCH that one afternoon we hung out in the lounge with some new friends for a couple of hours before they even put out the evening apps, and the CMs came around regularly to ask if we wanted refills on wine or beer. Turned out to be a really fun time, and the CMs were just terrific, taking excellent care of all of us as we pouted over the weather.

I seriously cannot WAIT to be back.

Thank you so much!! Aww- so neat you got to see a wedding there! We hope there’s lots of onlookers lol it doesn’t bother us at all. Thanks for the suggestion... I’m going to fax them tomorrow (2 weeks out) and then call the direct number next week (1 week out) *just* to be sure :) that was a super helpful tip!

My family will be staying in. 1 BR Villa this Sept, my most hated hotel pet peeve is hearing people in the room above STOMP all over the place all night long. So I wanna to request a 5th floor (yes I know that 1 BR’s are limited on that floor). My question is do the top floors still have full balcony? Or is it modified, smaller & cant see out of it, due to roof line (we had this in WLV and GF). Is the interior room ceiling sloped? Thanks for any info!

Thanks so much for posting these pictures!

That sounds like a great solution! I am going to add this as a suggestion/option in the FAQ section about mobility issues.

Are you purchasing one and bringing it or are you renting one? I know that really decent ones are around $100 to buy. We got one for my dad in October. We purchased a drink holder (around $6) for it and I guess all of his pals in his retirement community are jealous.

:goodvibes

I think I will bring my own I found one online that folds up like a stroller

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

I believe others have answered your questions, but if you need any additional info, let us know.

:woohoo:

Rooms arenot assigned a month out. They are assigned 3-5 days in advance.
A fax 2 weeks out is even more likely than normal to be ignored. Most resorts no longer process faxes. The room assigner doesn’t even have access to your reservation yet. Your best bet is to call and have it noted on your reservation. The Assigners see that. And folks have stated that they had luck with Touring Plans. We did not.

Please forgive me in advance...
I cannot (on these forums) for the life of me find the address I am need to send my beach umbrellas to.
I want to have them at the Beach Club for our resort day from Amazon,
Can anyone help me?
Also, I read somewhere that they charged someone $30.00 to pick up their order at one of the resorts.
Is this possible?
Will they charge me an exorbitant amount to pick up what I ordered?
TIA!

We have stayed in the dreaded dormer balcony rooms at the WL and the dormer balcony rooms at the BC and BCV are not as deep as those are. You can sit on the BC and BCV dormer balcony and see out of them. The balconies are a little smaller than the regular balconies, though. If you go to the first page of this thread can scroll down to the post about the villas building, you'll see a few pictures of the exterior of the building. Not all rooms on the fifth floor have dormer balconies. Some of them have regular ones. :)

If it comes via UPS or FedEx, it will be received at the yc/bc convention center and there is a charge based on either the size or weight of the package. I'm at work and don't have the link. As for address, i go to disneyworld.com and find the resort; i use the address that's there.

Edit: I googled Disney World Business Centers. The charge is based on the weight of the package.
Up to 4 pounds: $3
5 to 20 pounds: $5
21 to 70 pounds: $10

QUESTION ABOUT GROCERY DELIVERY

On page 1 it mentions that Garden Grocer delivers between 4:30pm and 5:30pm. Is this unique to Garden Grocer, or is this ALL of the grocery delivery services? (I'm thinking of using Dizzy Dolphin or WeGoShop - I'm interested in getting groceries from Trader Joe's - am wondering whether the time issue is for GG alone or whether it's for all grocery deliveries to YC/BC.)

Thanks!!

Don't know about delivery hours, but proceed with caution re We Go Shop. Many people reported that she double billed them and didn't seem to care. The thread is on the DVC Mouscellaneous board.
