Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

We’re at poly cl this week (26-Jan 2) and it’s been amazing. Yep, I’m posting while the kids nap and I’m drinking. Haha. But we’ve done WL, CR, AKL and BC club levels this year and poly CL blows them away. Totally impressed by the food offerings and having something of substance at lunch is unique. And everything in the resort and parks are so super convienent. Now if it would just warm up, today was supposed to have some pool time for the kiddos but it’s super cold (55 right now, though <10 at home, so i guess it’s florida cold).

Thanks for this review! My family is staying at the Poly CL 2/1-2/6 and reading your comments about your very recent stay was great. This is our first time staying at the Poly and the first time CL. My husband doesn’t know we are staying CL, it’s a surprise. We have a three year old son -any tips and or recommendations are welcome.

Hi gang!!

Don’t know if those currently planning and chatting will remember, but a month or so ago I asked for input from those who had DSS make their trip FP, and as pointed out this group is mainly those, like me!, who enjoy planning and so get their FP on their own when the system opens rather than wait for DSS to arrive at 9 am

I was fortunate to be on a 21st bday celebration trip in Las Vegas when our FP date hit, and had a helicopter tour scheduled for that morning. With the time difference, plans, etc...well i decided to roll the dice and let DSS handle our FP for our upcoming 2/25 - 3/3 trip. I emailed and asked their protocol and was assured that there was a CM assigned each day to FP duties and got on it first thing when their day started. They advised me to either call or email my requests anytime, but no later than 3 days prior to my window opening date. So I sent a very lengthy, detail email...lol...which included some screenshots from touringplans.com and some days just listed out.

The morning off, i happened to be on the shuttle and checked just after 9 am EST and was concerned as nothing was showing. I didn’t want to start making them on my own bc I knew i wouldn’t have time to finish, and I didn’t want to undermine my asking them to do them in the first place. So i went on my day and put it out of mind

After the tour I realized I had a vm from DSS, around 9:30 EST and it said they were successful in getting all the FP that I wanted, and overall near the times that I had requested.

Honestly, I didn’t have time to look at it again until several days later....gasp! I was very very pleased with what FP were showing on MDE. Overall, they got all the rides that I wanted, and really very close if not spot on to the times. This included Frozen and FOP

We are a party of two, except the last day our children join and we are at MK on a Saturday with a party of 5

I’m sure going at a more slower time helped my cause

So i just wanted to share my experience with letting go!!! LOL

Glad DSS was able to get everything you wanted! Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Hi All! I guess I'm staying Sugar Loaf at GF our next trip due to the Tiki Gods not smiling down on the Poly for good discounts this go round. The last time we stayed GF CL it was gifted to us for one night because of some issues we'd had at the Poly. What is my best resource for info on GF and CL? Does GF have someone like the Poly has Tikiman? TIA And can I still say Aloha as I walk around the GF grounds or would that be weird?

well I bit the bullet and booked a few nights of atrium CL at the contemporary for a mother/son trip. I've wanted to try it and a short stay seems like a good opportunity! I'll probably be spoiled forever... do these rooms ever come up for the AP discount when it is released? I imagine I would have to be pretty vigilant in my checking to snag one.

Perhaps I'm biased, but I think the best source of GF CL info is right here! 8-)

To my knowledge, there is not a Tikiman-like GF resource... although I'm sure there are various GF FB groups and message boards out there. :confused3

I had to stop my son from saying "Aloha" to everyone when we first stayed at GF! "We just say 'hello' here....." :rotfl:

Hope you have a great trip! Poly will still be there for you next time around. :wizard:

Just my opinion but I like CR CL for a short trip, so nice choice! :thumbsup2

Which view did you book? I've stayed on both sides and I'm pretty sure I've always booked with either a general public or AP discount. If I know my dates far enough in advance, I will often book the general public discount first (if there is one available), then modify to the AP discount later when they come out (again, if one is available and if it is in fact better). :surfweb:

Happy planning!

Standard. All there was. It's with the new discount today but it wasn't a great discount, so I will be trying to modify with my AP when I can!

Well fiddle sticks... I didn't realize new discounts came out today. Need to go catch up on things! :teacher:

Personally I like the standard view better than TPV (I know, blasphemy!). Good luck with the AP discount. Unfortunately both the general and AP discounts have been a bit lackluster lately, it seems??? :upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow

I'm thinking it will be a lot quieter on the Bay Lake side, and we always have the lounge to enjoy the view! Thanks for the advice!

Just going through my Poly CL trip photos from this weekend. I'm going to feel REALLY bad if this was anyone on this thread, since I know there were some folks there this weekend too.

This was sometime after midnight. Not sure if those partaking were coming back or had abandoned the fun? Part of me laughed while part of me thought it was pretty rude to just leave their mess like this.

And then part of me wanted to walk off with the Kettle One bottle, which had at least a few drinks left in it! :rotfl:

(In full disclosure, whoever did this could have still been on the beach celebrating and came to clean up later).

Anyway, nothing good seems to happen when the lounge stays open until midnight! :drinking1

I'll be there 1/19-22 for my 4th time sl and 10th gf stay. I like to memorize the building for room numbers .

Here is a quickie map. Follow room numbers in order with odd on one side and even other.

Oh, that looks fun, @GADisneyDad14 ! NYE is on my bucket list for sure!

Took advantage of the new offer today and bumped us up to CL at AKL for April 16th - 21st! We batted around BW and I know there are a lot of BW fans. I'm sure I will be second guessing for a while - I am a restless resort booker, so to speak! Excited for AKL but keeping my eye out for AP discounts, although I know they are often slim pickings!

For our post-Thanksgiving stay at Tower Club, I booked at rack rates initially. And on the day the AP discounts came out I called and got the 20% discount :-)

I'm tossing around NYE at poly cl too just from reading this thread. I know my husband will nix it but it seems like fun. I'm going to start stalking airfare. If I get a reasonable price it may work.

I've been thinking about it for years. Leap year is kind of messing with my long-range plans...I would like to do 2020 school-wise (I think it would work the best school vacation wise), but Leap Year is foiling my plans since it skips the Wednesday New Years Day, I believe! Maybe I shall throw school vacation caution to the wind and I too shall start a fund for next New Years, and we can all share a giant bottle of Kettle One (and a lemon and various mixers per the photo)! (you too, @GADisneyDad14!) Or Prosecco...

Well, that’s exactly how it started for me too. I booked it early 2017 with pretty much every intention on cancelling. Then it got closer, and closer, and I could never bring myself to cancel it!
Well that is what I am hoping happens lol. If dh agrees, I won't do a mother son trip this summer.

My schedule is the tough one. I work in a school and we start 1/2. I may have to be bumped from my 1/1 flight seriously though, I'm support staff so they do not sub me. My principal is a dvc owner so Im sure she will let me take 1 personal day or an unpaid day. I won't do more then 1 day off.

It's so tough when you work in a school system! Ideally, it would be nice to enjoy 1/1 and fly (or drive, but it sounds like you fly) back 1/2, which is tough for school personnel. We're going in April so it might be a hard sell for me next NYE, but DH knows it's on my bucket list! When the school vacation aligns in such a way in the next couple of years, I'd like to do a trip that maybe is post-Christmas to NYE without missing more than a day or two of school. Hopefully, we shall meet in the Poly lounge to enjoy champagne and fireworks!
