Should I ride Flight of Passage?

I'm really excited to try this ride, but I'm worried I'll feel nauseated while on it. I can handle Soarin' and generally all the roller coasters. However, the last times that I rode Expedition Everest and Star Tours, I did NOT feel good and didn't feel like going on any more rides.

I had the same concerns, and just got back from our trip, rode it on Thursday, and would say go for it! I was very nervous, especially after having done RnRC the day before for the first time and not feeling great after. So much smoother than Star Tours as PP mentioned, which also will make me nauseous. It is more like Soarin on steroids IMHO. You feel like you are flying, but more dipping and weaving. I closed my eyes when I felt us going into a corkscrew for a few seconds, but other than that it was great. I did not feel nauseous at all. Really cool experience - I wouldn't miss it (preferably with a FP!)

I think you have to try it, just because it's one of the best rides out there, and hope the consequences aren't too bad.

I'm mildy susceptible to motion sickness. No problem on Soarin' and Star Tours gets me a little. FoP ended at exactly the right time for me. I was just starting to get that....feeling. Great ride but I was glad it ended when it did.

I agree, you should try it. I dont do coasters but feel this ride is ok. Not just cause it is new either. If Tron comes to Fla I wont be trying it.

I can get to feeling off after Star Tours. When I rode it twice in a row due to child swap, I felt BAD. I had no problem with FOP. I felt fine even after doing it twice in a row--child swap again. Star Tours jerks the entire audience around--therefore it jerks your body around. FOP is smooth and doesn't jerk you at all. It is an amazing ride. It is truly a DO NOT MISS. Disney has outdone itself and set the bar way up there.

Lots of positives here, so I'll give my experience. It made me very sick. Mission space orange is the only other ride at WDW that bothers me. For me it was as bad as the worst motion simulators (Soarin has no effect on me at all, but Mission Space and Simpsons, and now FOP, kill me). Also, it got me early in the ride so I had a few minutes (what felt like 30) just trying not to throw up before the ride ended. My kids liked it, but never again for me.

I think you should ride it because you won’t know how it will affect you until you do, but I found it a lot more intense than how it was described here.

I was close to throwing up when it was over, and it took a lot of deep breaths to get to a point where I exit without spilling the contents of my guts all over the floor.

Good luck!

I have the same concern but I think I’m just going to take my anti nausea tablets and cross my fingers. Maybe it will be fine :confused3 I’ll never know if I don’t try it and I’ve heard amazing things. At least if I feel sick I’ll know better for next time lol

Haven't tried it yet (next month!) but I've read you have to keep your eyes focused on the leading banshee to minimize any possible motion sickness. Any experiences with that?
Also, my niece is prone to motion sickness and Dramamine doesn't suit her, any other good pills?

I had motion sickness issues as a child, but I have not had an issue in years.
I rode FoP a week and a half ago. I was so sick from the first dip on, I spent the entire ride deep breathing and PRAYING i wouldn't throw up. It was horrible. Never again for me. No other ride at all of WDW does that to me

I can't ride a lot of simulators and tea cup like rides, but I always have to try everything once to see how it goes for me.

Do they provide "sickness bags" for FoP like they do for Mission:SPACE?

If so that tells me I probably need to avoid it-I did Mission:SPACE Orange without throwing up,but felt ROUGH for hours.:)

For me smooth vs. Jerky and getting motion sick are mostly, two different things. I get very motion sick on Star Tours and other simulators and many coasters. I get slight motion sickness (sometimes a bit more) on Tower of Terror, Dinosaur, Indiana Jones at Disneyland. We just got back from WDW and we did Flights of Passage. I got just as sick on it as I did on Star Tours and had to close my eyes. :( It is a great ride and is smooth. My 90 year old father rode it. He was abit motion sick to but the movement of the ride didn't bother him nearly as much as the Safari.

This is why I decided to ride it at the end of the night. I was very worried about getting sick. I have vertigo and was also worried about being dizzy the rest of the day. We got in line right at closing and waited about an hour. I didn't get sick, but I was a little dizzy after I got off the ride. Nothing major though. Now, my DH who never gets motion sick said he felt like he was going to spew! It is way more intense than Soarin'. I had decided if I started to feel sick I would just close my eyes. I never had to. I do have to say that I had started taking meclizine two weeks prior to the trip though.
