If they create a new booking category (or categories), they will have to pull them from the rest or at least create sub categories. Then there's the ? of waitlists.
If they do a true allergy cleaning where they change out all cloth including the curtains, wipe down the walls (etc) and steam clean the carpentry, they'd be OK but the likelihood of them doing everything is slim.
I they are stupid enough to allow dogs at a DVC, it should only be at any new (yet to be opened) DVC so owners there would know before they buy.
And charge the appropriate MF's for the upkeep of the resort.......
For others.... in particular, OWNERS at VWL (AKA BRV)....
Here is the "Declaration of Condominium". Pay particular attention to Section 12.9, top of page 21: "No pets. All pets are prohibited. No pets of any type are allowed on Condominium Property"
Declaration as filed in FL Would be enclosed. Site decided it was too large. The pertinant section:
Off topic, but we just got back from staying at BRV. It was wonderful as always. Quiet, rooms in great shape, and the grounds around are spectacular. Disney did a wonderful job with the new additions and the resort is just gorgeous. We had a lake view room and it was truly lake view!! Love how everything turned out.VERY good! When in doubt, the CONTRACT we signed is the authoritative reference. If nothing else, it establishes a GREAT Basis for a Class Action Lawsuit, IF something occurs. Nothing has actually occurred, but it's GOOD to understand DVC owner recourse under the CONTRACT, in the event that it does.
Must add - my dear wife and I are SO glad that we are homed at BRV. A SEPARATE BUILDING DVC. The "Dog Hotel" issue could get dicey for "shared with Main Hotel" DVC properties - like Poly, and CCV .
Has anyone who has written an email to DVC regarding the potential of allowing dogs in DVC units received a response? I sent my email 48 hours ago asking a couple of very specific questions and have yet to receive either an acknowledgement or a response.
You'll be limited to two smaller dogs.LOVE THIS! Even though we own at BLT I would meet you at YC with our four kids in a NY minute! As I have posted elsewhere I do applaud Disney on doing this test and hope they don't give ammunition to the naysayers by not enforcing the rules. For several reasons I would not bring my fur kids since Disney only allows two and we have four so no leaving two and bringing two. We also would not fly and put even two in the cargo hold of a plane.
For those that say I don't want to hear the dogs, I get it..I don't enjoy hearing your kids scream up and down the hallways and in the rooms either. For those that say I am allergic to dog dander, hair etc I say you have probably already been exposed to these since service dogs are allowed in any rooms per ADA law. For those that say I am going to tell the front desk of any rules being broken by dog owners I say I guess I will start tattling to the front desk about rules I see being broken like kids in the pool with just diapers and without the cover up plastic swim trunks.
People please take a deep breath and stop thinking Armageddon will happen and every room of every resort will be full of dogs! I also will be emailing Disney executives to applaud their dog decision and also letting them know they need to enforce these rules since many will be just waiting for any little rule enfraction.
