Just tweeted manually. Checked my Marriott app and +50 points are there.
I checked my accounts and don't have points posted today, just yesterday. I will try again later and hopefully get credit.

Just tried again. Usually almost instant response. Nothing. Checked Marriott account, last points were from yesterdayJust tweeted manually. Checked my Marriott app and +50 points are there.
That's what I thought. If I do book a cruise through Costco, you can be sure I'll be checking more closely on the rewards that year but right now, it's enough to pay for membershipCostco rewards come just once per year around February, I think.
On top of the 2% if you are an executive member they give you a cash card for about 8% of the fare on Disney cruises.Another way I've used points to help with cruises is booking excursions through the UR site. Costco also now offers 2% back on cruises booked through them. I usually use our Costco $ for travel...adding to our cash that we take with for the casino

What exactly did you tweet?
I manually tweeted for Marriott points this morning, but didn't get the Twitter confirmation or the email from Marriott. Anyone else having issues?
WHY?!?!?!?
1. Please take our advice, or at least seriously consider our suggestions before you pull the trigger on anything and possibly make another mistake. I'm not trying to be mean; I'm really just trying to help. Several people advised you not to apply for the CSR because Chase's new rules meant you won't get approved for the card or you won't be eligible for the bonus. Several people then told you to wait to apply for the CIP because Chase's rules for business cards require you to have no other application in the last 30 days. You ignored all our sound advice, and now you're talking about applying for the United MileagePlus Explorer Visa (not MasterCard).
2. Please note that the United MPE Visa currently has a public signup bonus offer of only 40k MileagePlus miles. The public offer was 50k miles about two months ago, and people were being targeted with 70k miles offers then. The MPE has a 60k targeted offer right now. If you haven't been targeted for the higher 60k offer, there are numerous tricks to get yourself targeted for the better offer. But if you rushed carelessly into another application, you might have settled for the lower 40k offer without even knowing it.
But like @calypso726 said, you're going to have to wait to apply for the United MPE because you've already submitted two applications in the last 30 days. 30 DAYS! Please take this time to read up, ask questions, take advice, explore different credit cards and rewards programs, flights and prices, learn the rules for approval from the different banks, and formulate a strategy that works for you.
You are 100% correct. I'm not doing anything else at this point. Once I get the rejection for the two cards, I'm still doing nothing for a couple of months. I think I can get my husband to apply for the CSR card (since the CSP is under my name). I'll do this sometime early next year. Maybe they'll have a better bonus by then. Around that time I'll apply for the Chase United card. How does that sound for a plan?
So far my spending strategy is (for cards giving the most miles for the categories):
Groceries on the AMEX preferred
Gas, Restaurants and all else on the CSP
Everything goes on the cards except for mortgage. I need to figure out how to get more points from my spending, for example using the online portals.
From here on out I will carefully read the advice given here and actually follow it! Thanks
I have to say, I don't think you could have found a more helpful group of people. Take your time, ask lots of questions, and they will take good care of you
Thank you! You are so right! I did such a dumb thing and now it's really sinking in. If I understand correctly, the 5/24 rule makes me eligible for only 2 more applications in the next 2 years. When we renewed our HELOC last December we opened a Bank of America credit card (talked into this for cash rewards by our HELOC rep. We never use it!)
I believe my husband gets 4, however, I can only count on him for one so I'll make it the CSR. He isn't as gung ho on the credit cards.
FYI I just got an offer today for the Barclay Arrival Plus World Elite MC - 40k bonus miles. Going in the trash, though.
Is it a 7 day cruise? We're looking at 5 day, there's only 1 in 2018. I assume 2019 will be similar. 7 day is more $$ plus I'd like to spend 2-3 days in Vancouver before or after and not sure DH & I can get that much time off.Slightly off topic, but our two staterooms for Alaska next August were $10,000 total on opening day (right now the same two staterooms are going for over $12,000). With onboard booking discount I paid $9000. I also got $400 in onboard credit. I'm getting $700 back from Costco plus $160 as an executive member. I'll save about $1,500 paying with gift cards (Kroger fuel points mainly). It's still crazy expensive for me but I'd rather use credit card bonuses for other things--ROI seems better to me.
I did this last weekend. Added some alerts (I had some) and changed all passwords. Now I keep getting locked out of accounts since I don't get the password right. Took 3 tries on my primary bank account, even though I was doing exactly what I wrote down.I"m sure many of you are aware that you can set up text alerts for your credit cards. I'm posting this because, until yesterday, I was unaware of this option. This morning I went through my cards and set up text alerts for anything >$50, international usage, gas station usage and balance transfers on my Chase accounts . I understand it may become a bit of nuisance to get these texts, but I do feel a little safer.
Good choice, especially since that was recently much higher. I'm holding off apps myself right now. I'll try to reign myself in until the end of the year. First, I just got 2 cards this month. Plus just took out an auto loan. So my credit score has dropped a bit. Also I have a plan (like I see you have above) to work on Chase Freedom/Walmart for Disney GCs and Discover @ Target & Amazon for Christmas gifts to earn 5% back on those cards.FYI I just got an offer today for the Barclay Arrival Plus World Elite MC - 40k bonus miles. Going in the trash, though.
Yes, seven days (8/20/18). My kids don't go back to school until after Labor Day so we can go that late. We're doing a few days before and a day after in Vancouver. 5-day was about the same price because it's at peak season. Is it a 7 day cruise? We're looking at 5 day, there's only 1 in 2018. The 5/24 rule is a Chase rule that applies to some of their credit cards. It means you will not be approved for some of Chase's credit cards if you've opened (been approved for) 5 credit/charge cards from any issuer (Chase, Amex, Citi, BofA, Barclaycard, Discover, etc.) in the last 24 months. [ETA] So the idea is if you're under 5/24, focus on the Chase cards that are subject to the 5/24 rule, because you won't be able to get them once you go over 5/24.
The 5/24 rule doesn't count applications.
Here's a good article on the rule: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase-524-rule-explained-detail-need-know/
For us school is out by Memorial Day but prices start going up by mid May. I will have to evaluate the price diff once 2019 dates are posted. I would like to do 3 days before, 1 day after but not sure about work.Yes, seven days (8/20/18). My kids don't go back to school until after Labor Day so we can go that late. Oh, that's great to know! Does anyone feel uncomfortable having so many credit cards? I already have a bunch that I never use, which I opened a long time ago like the Disney Visa and Bank of America Visa, etc.
