Hi everyone...I have a 10 night ressie at the Poly in 6 weeks time (paid in full)..I am now wondering ,as i always do, have i picked the right one?...I know both will surely be great but i will not be able to do this again for a long time and want this trip to be really special!..Can i please have your feedback from those who have stayed at either of these resorts,or even better from those of you who have stayed at both?..We are a family of 3.(mummy,Nanny &12 yr old girl)...Many thanks

They are both fantastic resorts and you can't go wrong with either. Having stayed at both, I do prefer GF just slightly over Poly. The CMs there are fantastic, and I prefer the pools and quick service there over the Poly.

We prefer GF. It has more amenities than any other resort and never fells as crowded as Poly. There is almost no shade at the Poly pool and the QS is quite chaotic. I find GF more relaxing. I love to visit Poly, but prefer staying elsewhere.

We've stayed at both and like a pp, our favorite is the Poly (but the GF runs a very close second). With that said, both are beautiful resorts with great atmospheres, dining, etc. Is it possible to do a split stay? A 10 night trip, IMO, is long enough for a split, that way you can try both! If a split isn't doable, you really can't go wrong with either one as they are both great! Good luck!

I agree with those who have said split stay. I've stayed at both and they both have their advantages. For me, GF might edge out Poly because I find Poly a little more busy. Having said that, I have stayed at Poly more.

Of course, personal preference is a consideration, but I would definitely say the GF. We just checked out of the Poly for the first time a few days ago and I can't believe how disappointed I was in our stay. Our stay at the GF, on the other hand, was incredible. I do enjoy the atmosphere of the Poly for something different, and also the restaurants, so I'd just take advantage of the pleasant walk between the two resorts and visit the Poly rather than stay there. From a practical standpoint, I thought the transportation was a bit easier as well - MK is your first stop from the monorail (though I preferred taking the boat back to the hotel since it's the last stop on the return trip). Have a great trip!

For our family, GF wins easily, POLY just does not do anything for DW and I. We do like that the POLY is closer to the TTC to walk to and catch the Epcot rail.

Personnel preference of course, however, Poly would win if you have kids. Also as has been alluded to, if you have kids and a stroller the GF monorail is tough... It's the last pick up prior to MK so is almost always full going there, and it's the last stop on the return so takes ages to get back! My kids never felt the vibe from GF either.

I love both resorts though my preference is poly. Love the vibe of the resort and being close to ttc. My kids do not like the gf. They think it is too girly for them lol. Both pools are beautiful. I think it's just a matter of preference and what theme you like best.

This is a toughy. We've stayed at both, and my kids and wife hands down prefer Poly, while I liked GF. You can't go wrong with either, really. I wouldn't second guess myself if I were you on this one. You made a good choice.

I thnk it comes down to preference, both are wonderful. We are a family divided. I love the Grand, and would choose it over the Poly under most circumstances. Apparently, I have turned my DGD into a Grand Girl, much to my DD and DSIL surprise. They, on the other hand prefer the Poly and find it more relaxed, with the tropical theme winning out over the understated elegance of the Grand. My DH loves the Poly, and woudl rather chew glass and die than have to stay at the Grand.

Just to throw a 'spanner' in the works... Coming from a long line of Poly lovers in our family, we have been completely transformed and turned into 'Wilderness Lodge' Lovers over all of the hotels.... The price savings as well as all the other benefits make it the family favorite from now on!....... sorry lol

Well, I'm going to chime in and I haven't stay at EITHER!!!!!! However, they are both gorgeous resorts but when I do stray away from Caribbean Beach, I will stay at the Poly first. I love the theming and music, fire at night, view of the castle, and the SUSHI!!!!!!!! My son LOVES GF though so that'll be 2nd. I cannot wait to read a post-trip or 'LIVE' report from you. Would love to know what your thoughts are after. Have a great time - 10 days is SWEET!!!!!!! That's my magic number.....until I can convince my DW to add 2 more days, then 3, then 4, you get the picture.

I stayed a week at the poly last October. It was a 'let's go all out because we won't be back in a few years' type of trip.

My husband and I LOVED every second of our stay there. We got a 3rd floor room overlooking the marina. It was the most amazing vacation.

Our big trip was so successful, last week my husband let me book another trip to Disney for THIS October!

I would love to stay at the Polynesian again, but it wasn't available. So we're staying at the Grand Floridian! I want to stay in every resort at least once, so I'm not upset I'm staying at the Grand, just a little bummed I can't get the twilight feast room service like I did at the poly.

If I were in your shoes, id keep my poly reservation. :)

I've stayed at both and find Poly to be more convenient but I wish they had the beds that GF has! For $500-$600 a night you would think they could provide a better mattress.

Grand floridian! I had my trip res for the poly and it was so yucky we switched to GF.

We've always preferred the Poly over the GF. We like the relaxed atmosphere.
