2017 DISNEYLAND RESORT HALLOWEEN TIME / MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY THREAD!

So excited, just bought our Halloween party tickets for Oct 24th!! Its a girls trip, we are leaving our husbands and kids behind! 3 day park hoppers too!! I think we have decided we are going as Monsters Inc characters.

my desktop computer is down right now. So I'm working for my laptop. I will have to put any new photos from my camera on my laptop now. of my costumes for MHP. I have the two costumes picked out for the 17 and the 20th of October picked out. I have to decide on the 3rd day I'm going to MHP. My three dates are that I hVE TO CHOOSE FROM ARE September 29th, October 3rd a=or October 6th. That's if the 6th is still avalible

Last year, the reserved viewing was on Main Street from about half way down the Emporium to before the crossing near Carnation Cafe. There was another viewing area directly across Main Street (so probably from about the Main Street Cinema to the crossing in front of the Market House). Normally, the parade (MSEP/PtN) package viewing was down in Town Square, so I was surprised that this was in a better location. They haven't said where the viewing area will be this year.

I'm wondering how likely it would be to move from the reserved parade site to a spot close enough to see the projections on the castle for the fireworks, once the parade is over. How much is lost by staying in location and not seeing the projections on the Castle? Thoughts, anybody?

Last year we did the BB package. We just kind of collapsed into Main St. behind the rope holders, walking toward the castle once the parade finished. We weren't able to get very close but managed to see the fireworks and some projections from there. It was still pretty cool but definitely had to deal with obstructed views. I think getting a good spot for fireworks / castle view, then watching the later parade would have been a better experience but our priority was rides after the fireworks.

I just found out today that my DD11's weeklong 6th grade science camp is going to run right over into our vacation window. The district didn't let people know we were having a three day weekend until sometime in the spring and I'm sure the school had to make arrangements with the science camp at least a year ago, but it's still frustrating. I'm sure there are other families who have also made vacation plans for the three day weekend.

DD was adamant that she would rather miss her last night and day at science camp than miss any part of the Disneyland weekend, so I will likely be driving from Sacramento to the Santa Cruz area to pick her up and then driving back with her to catch our flight that night. Sigh. It's do-able, just frustrating.

Thank you for letting me vent!

That is frustrating. You try to plan in advance to get good rates etc. But can never anticipate what the school schedules will be but to guesstimate what the schedule was the prior year. I completely understand this. As we speak in waiting for my DD21's schedule as she started a new program of study this year that we are unfamiliar with so, I fear booking flights for our December trip. I hopefully find out this week.

Sucks, but I'm glad her school will let you do that! Some would severely punish a student grade-wise for missing a day of science camp like that.

I am so excited about the new Halloween merchandise, particularly the Haunted Mansion items. I wish they would release information about the happiest haunts tour. It looks like they will be doing it again this year but I am hoping it is different than last year. I would have thought there would be a little more info/easier to find when we are only a couple of days from being able to book the first tours.
I just got word that the tours will be at 4 o'clock daily. $85 before AP discount. 15 people can reserve tickets and advance by phone, an additional five tickets will be sold on the day of at the park.

I haven't officially told them that's what we are doing yet, but can't imagine they could punish her for missing a non-school day! That Friday is a day off for the entire district from DO staff, administrators (that's me), and all students (both DDs). I started planning for a Disneyland Halloween as soon as I heard the rumor that we might have a 3-day weekend in October.

When will they announce the information on Happy Haunts Tours?

Because my family collectively decided to have our big trip be over the holidays instead this year...I figured I'd have to kiss the Halloween Party goodbye. Seeing as though this may very well be the last year they even hold it at Disneyland Park, it was a tough pill to swallow...

Yesterday, however, I casually mentioned to my husband that our anniversary falls the day after a party (9/29) and was only half joking that it could be his present to me and he just went "ok, let's just drive down for the night of the party and stay one night". I was in shock because my husband is not a Disney person and I figured with the Christmas trip coming up, he wouldn't want to do it, but he was totally cool with it!

I haven't bit the bullet and bought the tickets yet...since I'm now almost wondering if it'll take anything away from our Christmas trip, which I'm really pulling on the stops out on and want it to be EXTRA special. Of course, it won't take anything away from ME because I could it all day every day, but I worried it'll take something from the kids. I don't know...For now I do have a room booked at the DLH for 9/29 and hoping to purchase tickets for that party in the next day or two. The following day, 9/30, is our 11 year anniversary so I thought it'd be fun to spend the day at the pool and maybe even book a cabana to celebrate.

Anyways...I'm adding myself back into the loop on this thread because I may very well get to experience the party again this year!!! YIPPY!!!

first time poster here, I went to disneyland last year during October but failed to obtain Halloween party passes but have since rectified that issue buy purchasing my Premiere Passport for both parks, snagged October 13th this year, but holy smokes didnt anticipate BB booking up right when the block opened this morning, I love doing the dinner packages but do you guys think the BB Halloween dinner package is worth it? I did snag a 3:45 pm lunch reservation any Ideas on if the park might let me wait 15 minutes till dinner starts at 4 pm so I can nab the dinner package lol.

You can always ask....
However, the dinner is considered a "Special Ticketed Event" and there are set numbers for these reservations.

I'd keep checking to see if an opening comes up for the special event.

was their a seperate link for the package dinner or just on the BB page, I did see the details near the bottom of the regular BB page but no special link it just said to book a reservation unlike the electric parade dinner package or the fantasmic dinner package

No special page like Fantasmic!. It's on the regular BB reservation page with a special section outlining the event. Just like you said.
It looks like all dinner times are GONE!

Sounds awesome, better post some pictures of the costumes when you're at the party!

You will not be seated right at 3:45, whenever I have reservations at BB, we get there and still have to wait around 30 minutes to be seated if not more. You'll more than likely be well into the 4PM hour when you get seated so I think you'd have a good chance!

maybe I can put a request in for a waterfront table which i know takes a chunk of time to line up so that might buy me like 20-45 minutes depending on how busy it is.

I also recommended that you keep checking for MHP BB dining packages. My guess is that if they have space, they'll let you upgrade to the package, but with a 3:45 pm reservation, you don't be guaranteed a package, even if you're seated after 4:00 pm. The reservations after 4:00 pm say "Mickey's Halloween Party Dinner Package at the Blue Bayou" on the confirmation, whereas the ones before 4:00 pm are just for the Blue Bayou. Good luck and keep checking!
