Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Heading down on Thursday for a quick F&G long weekend! I'll make it a point to check out the shower situation/construction by SAB adjacent to Lafferty Place Arcade. Let me know if anyone else has anything they need looked into! :magnify:

Anyone know why there were so many police in the BC lobby on Saturday morning? (April 29th) We left that morning and saw at least 4 police and 3 cars outside. I've been looking online but can't see any info. Maybe it was nothing, but it was strange!!

We stayed one night on club level for a girls' trip. Everything was wonderful! The lobby did seem full of people both Friday and Saturday. I've never seen it so crowded!

:welcome: to posting on the thread. Glad you had a fantastic girls trip!

Oh, no! I haven't heard anything.

:sad2:

Thank you so much!

Have a great getaway!

:woohoo:

I will take a bit of noise over dirt and nasty humidty stuck in a carpet... I find carpet in tropical environments ( aaahum... Florida disgusting)

I agree. Carpet especially in a humid place like WDW is just gross. I'm NEVER barefoot on hotel carpet. Reminds me of a lockeroom. I think the vinyl flooring is an excellent choice for sanitary reasons. And will last a lot longer. It's fairly quiet too.

I agree! When we first saw the pictures of the renovated room, our first reaction was 'this hotel would be great for our son!' He has horrible allergies to almost everything, so no carpet is a huge bonus for our family!!!

I just posted the May activities schedule to Page 1. I didn't notice until I was adding the movies, but there is no campfire listed. I hadn't heard that- I'm just guessing here- there have been a lot of fires in Florida so maybe it is too dry to risk it. Or will they be discontinued permanently?

:confused3

I had heard several resorts were stopping the campfires due to the risk of wildfires. As far as I know, it's just temporary.

Disney is following Orange County restrictions, due to continuing fire risk conditions.

The fireworks shows continue, though many have stated that the fireworks pose a greater risk, especially at HS, where experts have said that there was not enough surrounding area cleared for safety purposes.

I am going to the beach club for the first time this august. I am booked with a standard view. Does anyone know if there are any standard view rooms on the ground floor with a patio? Do all the ground floor rooms have patios?

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1 (See above)

Yes, all ground floor rooms have patios. I don't think there are any standard view rooms on the ground floor, however- standard view overlook a rooftop or the front parking lot. The ground floor space near the parking lot is taken up by the lobby.

You could try requesting a ground floor room- if the standard view category is oversold, maybe you would be placed in one of those rooms. But like all room requests, there is no guarantee that your wishes will be met. It all depends on room occupancy.

Recently returned from a 6 night stay at BC. The last time I was there was over 20 years ago so it was fun to return! Just a few impressions -- Overall we had a fantastic trip -- SAB can't be beat -- my kids loved the slides and the sand bottom pool! The rooms were nice and clean, beds very comfortable. The mini-fridge surprisingly held quite a lot (we had some groceries delivered). We had a lagoon view, 2 Queens, on the 3rd floor. I requested a full balcony in advance but we did not get one :( We did not mind, though. We were not in the room much and it was pretty hot outside during our stay so not balcony weather :) The complimentary coffee in the room was a nice touch -- and surprisingly good for "instant" coffee. We also enjoyed the complimentary soaps and shampoos which had a lovely scent -- and speaking of scents, the lobby smelled great, just as I remembered from 20 years ago :)
With all that said, a few very minor things were lacking. First, mouse-keeping. The room was clean, but I was expecting to come back to a room with towels on the bed in the shape of mickey ears at least one of the nights -- do they not do that anymore? :( The carpets in the lobby look dated, worn and a little dirty. Time for an update, I think. Our biggest complaint was the wait for the Magic Kingdom buses. 30-40 minutes most of the time, both coming and going. For that reason, we may consider staying at a monorail resort next time. However, the bus for AK always arrived very quickly and the boat to HS was great.
Food at the resort was adequate but certainly could be improved upon.
With all of that said, I want to emphasize that we had an amazing time and would stay there again in a heartbeat! Let me know if you have any questions

Completely agree. Also just the ick factor of the carpets getting wet and having to play is this a drip from the ceiling, pee from potty training toddlers, spilled water, spilled soda, spilled drink, etc. We had a wet spot our entire Beach Club trip. I assume they cleaned it up because it didn't smell or anything it was just wet for 5 days it stayed wet. It was about the size of a half dollar and of course I stepped in in every morning. It was the only real "bad" I had on our last trip.

I would love to know if you can request more of the complimentary water that they are now providing. We will be there for 9 nights and it would be nice to be able to get an extra bottle or two....thanks!
I apologize -- I forgot to try to request an extra bottle of water for you! I can tell you, however, that they never replaced the first bottle that was there once we used it.

That's interesting! We also booked a standard view room. I'll see what we get! At first I put in MDE to have a ground floor, then I changed it to large balcony request. I don't think I care if I'm overlooking a rooftop or parking lot, if I were further up towards the lobby. Of course, I may regret saying this, lol! But we have a standard view, so I'm not expecting too much on a view, but can't wait to see the room!

I placed a pre-order on BOG restaurant lunch. I can't get over the cost of the lunch, $75. We don't have too many dining reservations though, I've got a Via Napoli and an ESPN, trying to keep closer to the BC for dining, and the rest playing by ear. I keep trying unsuccessfully to reserve Beaches and Cream during our stay, oh well :guilty:
I don't think my kids will care as long as they can get ice cream at the window!
