sofa beds comfortable?

I'm looking into Deluxe Villa studios and I'm wondering if its really possible to use the sofa beds. Most hotels I've stayed at I've found the sofa beds to be unusable because of metal bars and springs poking through all night long. Specifically a Polynesian studio or Contemporary. Thanks!

I can't speak specifically for Polynesian and Contemporary but I can tell you that my sons (ages 14 and 10 now) have refused to sleep on the sofa beds for a while now. They are not spoiled and have gone tent camping on multiple occasions. My boys do not mind the new murphy beds at the Wilderness Lodge studios but they HATE sofa beds at Disney. Maybe Poly and Contemporary are better?

They do not have the metal bars (at least the one I slept on), but for me, I found by the 3rd night I really wanted a bed with more support, but everyone is different so it may be fine for you.

As an adult - I'd say 1-2 nights is the max for me on a Disney sleeper sofa (and that's solo - sharing it would be miserable for even one night). I do think the brand they have is better than some hotels have. Now - my niece thinks they are awesome - but she's 7. So - I think you can put a kid on them. But starting about tween - you may get complaints about them.

The one that DH and I slept on for almost a week in our Kidani 1bdr was NOT comfortable.

My adult DS has slept on the sleeper at BCV several times with us. He says it is not as comfortable as his bed, but it is okay

I am 50 something, 5'1" and 125#; I find the sofa beds (at BWV) to be VERY comfortable. In fact I prefer them to the bed! They are VERY firm, which _I_ like.

The updated ones are much better than they used to be! I stayed at AKL last summer, and the sofa bed was fine. Stayed at BWV this past fall, and it was also perfectly acceptable. Now, I'm not going to say I didn't miss my memory foam mattress at home, but I've definitely slept on worse.

My DS and DH both tried out the sofa bed at BWV this past December and said it was comfortable.

I just spent 8 nights at BWV's in a studio. I am a 46 yo female and am average weight. I was worried going into the trip that I would hate it, but I slept perfectly fine the whole 8 nights on it. Keep in mind that these villas were JUST refurbed over the last year and those sofa beds are new. I slept for 7 nights on a pull out in a Beach Club villa in 2015 and while I was okay, it definitely was less comfortable than this new one. Hope that helps!

Anymore experiences with sofa beds ? Specifically interested in akl jambo for my 20 year old son.
My adult daughter and I spent a few nights (May of 16) in a studio at AKL Jambo and while she slept okay, she didn't love it. I am quite certain those rooms have the older style sofa beds so they aren't as comfortable as those that have recently been refurbed and replaced.

Ugh ok thank you! That was a big help. I should probably consider an air mattress I'm thinking.

Or possibly order a memory foam topper from Amazon. Have it delivered to the resort so you don't have to pack it from home & either plan on bringing it home (make sure you have an empty bag on your way to WDW) if you don't have to pay fees for your checked bags (I always travel w/Southwest so I get up to 2 checked bags for free), or leave it with a note for Mousekeeping to keep if they want.

The sofa bed at Saratoga Springs is so bad that I prefer to sleep on the sofa without pulling the bed out. The back sofa cushions are removeable giving a little more space so it's good enough for one person on the sofa. Pulling it out into into a bed is NOT an option as the mattress is so thin that the bars are very noticeable.
I do not have any experience with sofa beds in other Disney resort rooms.

Thanks everyone. I guess its really a crap shoot. I like the idea of getting a mattress topper. Maybe Ill try that.

This is my back up plan for our October trip this year - we are staying at BLT and since I haven't stayed there yet, am unsure how I will find the pull out. If I get there and find it is moderate at best, I will order a topper from Amazon right away!

Just checked out toppers on amazin. Great idea! Thank you!
