Pandora Annual Passholder Event

I never got anything, I hope you all going really enjoy it. I would have loved to see it as a pass holder event, oh well I do live in Minnesota and probably would not have been able to swing it anyhow. I never get any emails from Disney regarding AP events or news, which is really irritating!

Thanks for the responses everyone, looks like I got the short straw on this one. I'm going to call customer service tomorrow to see if there's any space at all that I can slide into...perhaps an extra fast pass for my "pain and suffering" :crutches:

My husband registered us pretty early. I got the email a few hours later. We are FL Res APs and we don't have any current resort reservations.

I am non Florida resident and got the email at 9 am central time. I registered and then called the husband to tell him I needed to make a trip to Florida.

Any clue how many openings there were? Just wondering how this is going to effect crowds that week.

It's estimated there's about 3,000 people per 2 hour time slot. But that's completely estimating and nothing concrete from Disney

there have been guesses and the number seem high to me I think one number was 3,000 for one time block

I personally don't think it's going to be 3,000 people per time slot. People are going off that because on the confirmation it'll say like "Confirmation number 90,438".

I think those numbers are just generated numbers and don't mean you're the 90k person to reserve tickets. And also I doubt it would take into account the number of tickets you booked and correlate that in adding it to the confirmation number

OR how many on here that did NOT get an email are also LOCAL AP holders? Could it be it went to folks who would make a trip out of it and book hotel rooms? AP holders that travel from afar and commit days in a hotel, restaurants etc aka cash.

We have three APs. I am the only one who got the email. I am the also only one who has ever booked a Disney hotel. Why was I targeted and not the other two - who are also very much adults?

I am a local. In fact, I can watch MK fireworks from my house. But I still enjoy the full vacation experience and just happened to have a trip already planned that lined up perfectly with the preview dates. I made the reservation in January, direct with Disney. So they won't get extra money from me that they wouldn't already have received anyway. I am sure there was some method to the email madness - just not sure what. I haven't seen a common denominator for either those that got the emails or those who didn't.

For the record, I have a Florida Res Platinum pass, but my sister and her husband got the emails and they have Florida Res Silver passes (I think they are still called Silver - it's the one with all the blackout dates). They didn't try to book it as they aren't able to come over that week.

I think I got enough answers now that .... local or not it didn't seem to matter. We have FL Resident Platinum (2) and one FL Resident Gold but are not local.

So more curious ................ you live close enough to watch the MK fireworks but you have booked a vacation to stay onsite in a Disney hotel?

I have a Premier, but I'm out in Cali and I never got an email. I was aware through other sites but I'm going at the end of April and I couldn't swing another trip so close. I was really hoping I'd get lucky and have it happen while I was already there but I'm off my two weeks...

Hi all,

Was lucky enough to register for the May 13 9-11am DVC pandora preview. Our issue is should we throw away a full park day from earlier in the week to attend this on the day we are leaving? We are on a strict 5 day ticket from the cheer event and cannot add an extra day. We would have to change one of our weekday park days to a cash waterpark day.

My question is what should we expect from this preview? Will we be able to ride all the rides/attractions during this preview or is it just a walk through of Pandora? As exciting as it is, we go to WDW every year and will be able to see it next year if it is just a walking tour through Pandora.....

Anybody have any ideas as to what that 2 hour block will entail?

Thanks in advance

Well the fine print said anything could not be working or available so it could be anything. I would expect the 2 rides to be opened, some of the area safe to walk around and probably not much else and there really isn't time for much else.

It's probably best to combine it with your AK day if possible.

We could only get ours on one of our down days. Fortunately it wasn't our last day so we could restructure.

I now have a full AKV day planned including Tiffins and RoL.

I would still do it if I were leaving. We plan our trips these days around what is novel. We planned this trip to catch the last Wishes and first Happy Ever After.

At 9am on the 13th, you'll be the first official non-CM tour through.

Being able to say that you were the first group into Pandora will be something to remember long after another park day would be forgotten.

Especially if you come every year.

Never got an email, but heard about it here. First link didn't work, second link did. I got my confirmation page with a number on it saying I would get email confirmation soon. Still have not got that email. I am a platinum passholder and don't revieve any correspondence from Disney. I hope my confirmation is valid, I am so excited for this event. Our trip is May15-19 and I was able to get a time slot of 6-8 on a night that are doing the ROL dining package at Tiffins at 4 with the rest of my time scheduled to just walk around and be spontaneous. Got lucky for once!

Not uncommon for locals. Especially, if we want Pandora FP+. Most likely there won't be many, if any at the 30 day mark.

I'm 45 minutes away with a son who lives where he can watch the mk fireworks. We stay onsite fairly often. Well did, before my medical bills consumed the money instead.

we call them staycations.
Last week, during my DD16 spring break we stayed at Cabana Bay resort at Universal for 3 nights, my son works at Universal and gets a terrific rate on rooms. We did a Disney staycation during SWW once, another on Mother's Day a couple of years ago...it's always fun to get out of your house and stay inside the "bubble"

I just looked to see if I could change my FP for flight on opening day and they are out of FP for this as of 8:45AM EST. more may become available latter but there were still some for 5 and latter for the other ride

That's awesome! ::yes:: I'm not sure I could ..... I am even contemplating doing the preview via back/forth from our FL home that is less than 2 hours away. I just hate weekend rates and that is when my preview is.

Possible - local family of 5 (all adults) who haven't booked a hotel since we moved here 3 years ago and none of the 5 of us got emails (all Platinum or Platinum Plus).
