Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

After reading the last few posts about Grand Floridian Club TPV rooms, I'm curious -- it appears these rooms are in the main building -- does it get noisy? I find the CR TPV rooms is a noisy resort (not so much as the monorail running through, but the foot traffic from Chef Mickeys) and wondering if this is the case with the GF CL TPV rooms being they have 1900 PF and I would guess the same foot traffic.

I probably should not comment since I haven't stayed in one, but from my perspective they should be VERY quiet - arguably the quietest option of any of the RPC view categories. The TPV rooms in RPC are not close to the main atrium, in fact they are quite a bit removed from it. To help illustrate, see below. In this case, this is the 4th floor of RPC.

(1) These are the TPV rooms on this floor. These are down a long hallway which is not open to anything else. The 3rd floor which also has TPV rooms is a similar setup.
(2) This is the "secret" elevator that @trishadono mentions.
(3) Club level lounge.
(4) The main atrium.

I had the room three doors to the left of the lounge (not a TPV room) and it was among the quietest rooms we have ever stayed in. The limited number of rooms down that hallway keeps foot traffic and other noise to a minimum. I also find the GF atrium way less noisy than places like CR. All of the GF dining options are pretty tucked away in their own spaces and not necessarily open to the atrium, like Chef Mickey's.

All this GF talk is making me want to stay there again!

Not at all - I stayed in one of the TPV rooms and have a video of leaving the club level lobby area while the band is playing and going back to the room - the music disappears almost immediately upon leaving the public club area. It's very quiet back there.

Love that map!

I have a question for anyone concerning the club level at AKL. We have used this in the past, staying in a 2br so my older mother and her SIL who lives locally and stays with us while there can use the lounge while we are at the parks with kids. They like their independence and this has been great. This time, with a bigger group I moved up to the 3 br Savannah view (we can hardly wait). Only now it occurs to me that the Club access is not offered as an option for the 3br. Does anyone know if they offer access to the 3br unit automatically as you cannot book it with club access or if I can add access for them somehow? Thanks for any suggestions,
Drew
You may want to check the DVC resort section. Not too many of use book with DVC compared to there.

Is the 3 br in Kidani or Jambo? Kidani doesn't have CL at all.

Hope you get an answer.:)

Thank you! Im excited about the Poly, can't see myself getting excited about the GF -- even though every time I go to 1900 PF I try and visualize myself staying there, and always leave saying NAH.

I used to do that too! We always took our girls to 1900 PF and I never thought the GF would be my type of place (we are huge Poly CL lovers). However, we finally tried it last year (RPC) and it was fabulous! Even my DH agreed and he enjoyed it very much (which suprised me...).

For us it just has a 'stuffy' feel to it and the Victorian style, while beautiful, is so not us. The Poly now, that's been my "must go" resort for so many years i lost track. lol.

This describes us as well, almost perfectly! I have never found GF personally appealing on any level, frankly the only reason I stayed there was to experience the CL hype (there's some of that Disney logic right there).

I wasn't totally in love with it after staying there, but I haven't ruled it out for future trips either! Again, more Disney logic.

The map is super helpful - thank you for sharing all your Disney expertise! I feel like I'm going in very prepared for a first timer!

@meaganmusing @GADisneyDad14

The 2nd floor has deluxe king rooms only.

If you look at pics of GF these rooms are above GGG and the end of the marina.

Lovely view of the castle. Rooms numbers are ending in 01-09. 01 is towards Sago building and 9 would be closer to the lounge/ first room available when entering the bank of rooms. SO for view ask for 4-6 for center view shot of castle or 8/9 to have fewer steps to the lounge.

Past room 1 is an elevator that takes you down to floor 1. You can then exit to outside. This is best way for GGG, marina and also nice for bus and pools.

I like it for pools because you don't walk thru the lobby in your swim attire :)

Also the music is piped for Wishes at the marina and you can hear from those rooms.

FYI I was in the 2nd floor room ending in 01 and there is a tree in front of it so I would not want 3rd floor ending in 01 either.

Came back to add: you can bring stuff from lounge to room so grab items before you put kids to bed so available for your "balcony date nights".

Perfect explanation! Thank you - I'm going to make my request right now for a room 4 - 6 on the 4th floor. The hidden elevator is great to know! I'm with you on not walking through the lobby in my swim clothes! :) Grabbing some goodies from the lounge for our balcony after a long day at the parks sounds perfect! I'm so ready to get there! Thank you, thank you!!

I don't know about expertise... probably spend too much time researching around here (and spend too much money on CL trips). Many others with a lot more expertise than me around here!

I think it was you that also posted on the cabana thread, right? Did you end up cancelling? Sorry if it wasn't you.

Yes, it was me. I got a call from the CM's today. Super helpful. I was all ready to cancel and they said we'd have guaranteed spots for both parades and the fireworks and I just couldn't cancel. So now we have tickets to two parties and the cabana. Pretty sure that's overboard. She told me they'd refund our second day of party tickets if we wanted to do that. I will update on the cabana thread too!

Nice! Sounds like my experience, the second person that called was very helpful and seemed to know his stuff.

And yes, it was a total splurge for us. My wife was actually pretty mad at me for booking it. BUT, with our short trip it was perfect - me and DS were in the park for 15+ hours straight that day (which is WAY long for us) and having a spot to sit/relax every once in awhile was awesome. I put a ton of value in the reserved holiday parade spot as well. That first parade is crowded.

Anyway, hope it works out for you, whatever you decide.

Sorry for the OT chatter all.

There is nothing that says club level on the luggage tags. You should be fine. Enjoy the BWI CL it is our favorite CL for the CMs. Lorenzo and Anita are truly our favorites. Lorenzo made into our July 2015 Disney video because he loves to sing and dance. There are many other nice CMs there too but those two are truly unique. Come back and let us know what you think.
Also our favorite resort and club lounge! We leave in 8 daysWe are there Dec 17-Dec-26, first time being there over the actual Christmas Holiday. Love Lorenzo & Anita & also love Joe & Jackie!!!!

Close to lounge for sure! Some of the BWI CL rooms are outside of the secured Innkeeper's Club door, so my preference would be closer proximity to the lounge. We could see the Eiffel Tower and Illuminations from our Standard CL room...it's a pretty awesome Standard view :)
We always request to be in between inkkepers lounge & elevators, this way we don't get stuck past the lounge and around the corner. We like this because of walking distance to only set of elevators & I have mobility issues. I also request a large balcony w board walk view. I have two teenage boys who like the action on the boardwalk. But as another poster said, garden view w eifel tower (and great view of illuminations also very nice. The whole floor is not all club so most of the rooomd have good views. I think it's more of a preference. Enjoy!!

My DH said this is how it'll be for me at the Poly, the "hype" of not only CL but the whole tropical thing going on there. Personally I think he's  and grasping at straws hoping I tell him let's go back "home" to his beloved CR but 2017 is my turn and maybe the Poly will win him over more than he thinks. :)
