Are we finally sailing? The Disney Difference Sep/Oct 2016 it's a wrap!

Hi Polly! I read about 90% of the TR last Friday and had a ton of quotes to comment on, but lost them over the weekend I guess. Just finished getting caught up - first of all, I love your attitude on life, your love for sweets, and Jo sounds like an amazing partner!! Your dog is super cute too, glad all is well.

I leave in just over 2 weeks for a long weekend trip, and put on my to-do list "find Lumiere 3D Ornament" does it actually light up?? It is too cute!! I bought two of the Lumiere "candle"sticks for my daughters 4th birthday for her room (lol) and she loves them but that ornament is too cute. BTW she also has that red sparkly Minnie purse

Also, did I read correctly that you were supposed to have a 1 Bedroom at VGF and they put you in a room w/ club level? Or were you supposed to have a studio?

OH and while thinking about rooms - holy moly, that suite on the cruise was AMAZING (minus the freezing vent above your head lol). Was there fresh air on your balcony though, it looked all glassed in?

Yes the Lumiere is just a delight with a switch on a button for it to light up. Even the smaller Christmas decoration lights up. Here they both are on..



Too cute your DD has the minnie purse!

No we had booked a studio at VGF we only have enough points for 1 night a year or as we prefer 2 nights every other year in studio. Just a snall DVC add on. We have most points at SSR.

Yes we had fresh air on the balcony it wasn't a great photo sorry! Thank you so much for joining us. Have a great vacation. Don't forget the cog either..( cogsworth clock ) he is a delight too!

Thank you for your time once more. That is sweet of you to say re the shirt! As it had the date on it I just had to wear it that very day! I recall doing that at concerts too!

So sorry the Grand Floridian had some snooty people working in the lounge. I always thought the hotel was beautiful but what you described is sort of what I expected there. Sad really.

What a wonderful way to spend your birthday! You really scored on getting lots of special park merchandise.

Yes that's right MK opened on 1st October 1971 the very day my poor Mum was having mega birth issues with me in a hospital in London. Born dead and blue with doctors shaking their heads at Mum and Dad who cried. I then cried shortly after and somewhere 5,000 miles away champagne bottles were flowing as Main Street opened for the first time. Our love was meant to be.

Wow! That's quite a story, so glad it had a happy ending!

It sure was busy this morning. They had produced special edition park maps and buttons. We took one each. But not to busy for a photo...

A CM was moving up and down the line showing us what they had left in the store...

It seems like they only made enough for that day. I don't know why they didn't milk it and all the merchandise for at least a month! It was all gone when we were there.

And what is with more people shoving you, and then claiming they don't speak English. Some people can be awful!

I have already seen more Dooney's I like..save me...

I knew exactly what Nationality the shover was and that she could speak English. We have the delight of their tour groups in London.

On our way back to the resort I decided to get try on these...



It was a lovely afternoon at The Grand and the hotel was full.....

1. 

Shortly after Cinderella and Prince charming came out to dance it was really cute....




We made our way back to pool for a rest and enjoy the sun. I got an email from the couple Paul and Shirley we meet in the conceirge lounge of the cruise asking if we were at the Grand and if we wanted to meet up which was nice. As you were going home tomorrow ( the dumbo in the room ) it would be nice to see them before leaving. They said they were also by the pool so we got up and went to look for them. It was most odd they were nowhere to be seen. I emailed again. Are you by the pool? Yes we are.... Was the reply. Well these darn cataracts I said to Jo. I cannot see them at all. But neither could Jo. Jo said maybe they aren't sitting at the DVC pool. Maybe at the main hotel pool. Jo said she would go look.

Shortly she returned laughing! Wrong pool! So we joined them in the main hotel pool. We tend to stick to the DVC pool out of habit even though we were at the hotel this time. Paul and Shirley did not realise there was a DVC pool even though like us they are owners. They laughed too.

We chatted and they invited us very kindly to use their room on our flight day to shower before we left for the airport. This was great! Our flight is an overnight to the UK leaving Orlando at 7:30 pm. Getting us in London at 9:30 because of the time difference. A shower would be most welcome! I told them about Tables in wonderland they had never heard of it but do all dining in Disney and thought it would be ideal. I was glad to help. The following year they were bringing all their grown up kids. It would pay dividends.

We said goodbye and went back to the room to get ready to head back to MK for FP+ mine train and Jungle cruise. Then of course BOG! I also wanted to pick up a souvenir Tiki mug from Trader Sam's at the Poly if time allowed. We don't have the Tiki theme in the UK so this would be a great add to my ever growing mug collection!
