** OPENING DAY PRICING 2018 Part 1 January-April/May: Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy **

Was that Wonder 3/14 the 11th by chance...? Or did you mean the Magic..?

Some of these prices are ouch.. but they seem to be heavy on the high verandah categories. I'd like to see more inside prices... and am curious about the ocean view too. The 7 night southern we booked is comparable to the one we cruised in 2014 (and the one we dropped for Jan 2016) price wise. I feel like the PC is higher than normal..? But I never looked at it that seriously so I may be mistaken.
I checked Cruise Fish to see what the April 23, 2017 Panama Canal cruise prices were on opening day, and the 11B I booked was $110 pp more today. The taxes on the Panama Canal cruise are a killer @ $408.01 pp.

Yikes! thanks for posting. I have this exact cruise/room booked for November 2017, but was considering moving it to this date if it wasn't a huge diffrence. It's $3000 more though so I'll be sticking to my November sailing!

Wow, that is $1000 cheaper than 2A in a 10A according to the figures we have...!

Edit: also $400 more than a 9D though... something fishy is going on with that 10A quote..!

I got the 10A reservation

$2044.00 + $408.01 port fees = $2452.01 per person no insurance / no transfers / no air / no OBB

just a straight reservation - sadly no placeholder - it's been awhile since we cruised DCL

I agree something fishy. I'm waiting until tomorrow when I can look at the online pricing - we might be switching to a sideways inside. Big difference especially when we have to add 30% to the prices.

3/12/18- 4night Dream
2A2K- Category 9B
No OBB/No insurance/No transfers
$4153.52

Same cruise 1A1K
$2535.16

We booked these two staterooms. This is the first time I am not overly excited about having a DCL booked. Not even 3 years ago I was on the same exact cruise/date and for the four of us I paid 2800.00. I thought that was a lot then. This is a HUGE price increase. I was really expecting around 3500.00 at the most. However, it will be my daughters sweet 16 and she wants to forego a party and sail the Dream. A party would of cost way more but it is just a hard price to swallow. I am sure I will get more excited as it gets closer. It is a lovely ship...

Here is the other quotes I had:
4 night Wonder
3/11/18 no obb/insurance/transfers
2a2k- 9b- 3615.96
1a1k-9b- 2127.50

I haven't cruised in so long (since 2005) and I nearly died when I saw the prices. Was hoping for around $3k and it was closer to $4k and that's just for two (I'm a single mom but of course paying for 2 adults). In february. non vacation time! it will be a once in a lifetime thing because I'm not gonna be able to swing this again!

Added up to here! Once online opens up I will stop updating the first posts as everyone will be able to check current prices there.

The fact that this thread is only 7 pages long leads me to believe there's not a lot of excitement about the itinerary's or is it the prices? It seems like these opening day price threads used to be a lot more active a few years ago. Am I wrong?

I just wanted to express my sincere appreciation to AquaDame for managing this page for all of us. It is no small effort and offers great insights into those of us that have to wait until tomorrow for booking. I also really appreciate all the Dis-ers that have contributed their quotes to this page. The Dis is really a great community.
