Frozen Ever After broken down

Never do this on the DIS, but here goes [Sarcastic Voice Activated]

You mean a brand new attraction at a major theme park went down? And on it's opening day! Whatever next? Universal doesn't have this problem do they? .... Well, I mean except for Escape from Gringotts. Yeah ... Worst ride EVER for going down. What shell we bash next ... ?

Now ...

[Begin Rant]

Many may find this post upsetting, off-putting or trivial ... However, it is the truth on many guests that visit Disney or any destination you may visit. NOTHING is perfect.

These rides/attractions are machines - Controlled by computers - Made by humans - Operated by humans

Guess what? Mistakes occur ... Computers fail ... Humans mess up ... GET OVER IT

Maybe the next time you mess up at work several thousand people should start a discussion thread on how bad you are and let everyone bash you on how bad you do your job or how great the person before you was ... All while having the privacy of the Internet to hide them.

Sorry. This discussion board is a GREAT community of information for a lot of people. I enjoy 80% of the discussions that occur. Though the other 20% are just petty nonsense that makes nothing more than everyone and this community look bad. It's a ride, get over it. The world still spins. You still pay taxes. And people will still visit Disney whether you think they should or not. Regardless of what you think of the park's direction or attractions.

[End Rant]

On our way to an 8:45 FP+ to Frozen Ever After then to Disney Springs to watch 'Finding Dory'

You forgot one on your list: People complaining about people complaining :disrocks:

Is Frozen up & running today? I'll be there next Tuesday. Surprising my 5 yr old niece w/ a short trip. Don't want to drive from Destin & leave our family vacation if the ride is still having issues. I do have a FP, so hopefully they will have all the bugs worked out by next week.

Is Frozen up & running today?
It started the day (9:00) off line. Then it got up and running around 9:30. At 10:48, a Touring Plans user reported it as being off line again. As of noon, still reported as being closed.

Yeah, folks like to complain, that is true! LOL! But I think expectations were very high for this. People waited long for this to open, suffered the disappointment of Malestrom closing etc.

It truly did sound like a hot mess today. 5 hour waits, fp lines out to China, numerous closures etc.

It seems you live close enough to hop over to Disney whenever you want, so to someone like yourself, it's no big deal. You can go back tomorrow, or next week, or next month. But for some, this was a chance to experience this ride when they may not be back for years. They booked fp's weeks ago and planned a day around this ride. I think they are entitled to vent a little. I hope they work out the glitches and tomorrow it is a better day.

I agree. The cost of a Disney vacation, or even just one day tickets for a family is a big factor here. You expect the attraction that was so heavily promoted, to be up and running. We all know that rides do break down, but I don't feel as though we have the right to dismiss the feelings of those who leave disappointed. If this were my vacation, and I had some little Frozen fans with sad faces because they could not enjoy this attraction, I would not be happy either.
I know frustrating stuff happens on vacation, but I do feel sorry for anyone with young children in such circumstances.

Why do they not put sandbags in all the boats and run the attractio for 2 weeks to see what happens?

I absolutely cannot like this enough...

It's interesting how those who belittle the feelings of people who are annoyed with various things Disney does are almost always locals or at the least people who visit Disney very, very often. Is it not obvious that it's much easier to forgive things like breakdowns, insane crowds, and whatnot if you can easily go back another day and experience it?

With increased prices come increased expectations.

I can guarantee they did that. They also did CM testing. 7 dwarfs mine train wasn't perfect when it opened either. That ride opened and closed several times during the day for a couple weeks.

I don't think it's unreasonable to be disappointed with the ride being down. As much as people are paying to be there, the expectations that attractions work properly would be high. Most people don't get to go all the time. If I had expectations to ride this ride, waited in the heat for 2.5 hours to be told it was down, I'd be disappointed. Not really upset, but definitely disappointed. When we were there in May, we had 8 am ADRs, but 7DMT was down, until around 10:30. We also had fps, but they were 10 am and by the time it was up and running, the fp line was almost as long as standby. No problem, we'll ride Winnie the Pooh. Nope, down, Barnstormer? Down (both off and on all morning). The saving grace: fps for Space Mountain. Nope, down until after 1 pm. Ok, this is getting out of hand; I'll ride the train to Frontierland/Adventureland and have a nice lunch at Skippers. Oh, after 40 minutes waiting, we were told the train was down. Walked to Skippers, but by then we'd had enough. Left after lunch. Never did ride the train, Barnstormer or Space Mountain, despite 3 days at MK. So, I don't have a right to be disappointed? Oh, and by the way, my taxes are a lot less than a visit to Disney World, and when I make a mistake at work, your hair is going to look like crap.

After watching the POV on Youtube, I am not too heartbroken that we missed it while we were at WDW last week. I would have felt very let down after waiting in line for a few hours. Sure, I will be happy to check it out when we return in a few years.

I totally get the disappointment. It stinks. However some people go above and beyond just disappointed and say 1 ride being down ruins their entire vacation. That is where I draw the line. People also assume that because opening day had large crowds and issues that Disney didn't test it. They have to test it that's the law. They can't just put out something with people on the boats that has never been run before. However it is hard to get 5 straight hours of people lined up going through it over and over and over again. Even during the TT CM testing when they would run empty cars and empty car can't report back if their designed car showed up or if something didn't light up. Same with Seven Dwarfs and Frozen. Empty trains and boats can't report if an AA is down.

I remember the soft opening for Mission Space. People puking in the trash cans when they got off the ride lol (ok that had nothing to do with breaking down, but it was a soft opening and they tweaked it to make it less vomitable lol )

It would have been very easy to get 5 straight hours of people lined up going through over and over. Call it a soft opening instead and the crowds would be there with lowered expectations, IMO.

I understand things go wrong and nothing is perfect, but I do think this could have been done better. Mostly by building this ride elsewhere and not overtop of an already unreliable and low capacity ride system, but that's a whole other story.

Based on how NFL soft opening went as soon as word was out that the ride was open people rushed teh attractions. Even in a soft opening people walk away complaining that the didn't get to ride.

I'm not saying that they couldn't have done yesterday better but at the same time no matter hwo they open rides someone is going to walk away unhappy becuase they didn't get to ride.

I can't say I'm surprised. I assume the first few days with any new attraction will see some down time. All the testing in the world can't prepare you 100% for production. I deal with that on a daily basis. You test and test and fix what you find or can anticipate but you know your first days in production will be days full of bug-fixing and adjustments.

It isn't pleasant but it isn't in the guests control and I just don't get worked up over things out of my control.
