Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I've seen some posts about the room refurbs at Pop. What building have been done? I saw a coffee maker in the room, is this just in the refurbished rooms, or are they all getting them now? TIA!

So how much more will the price of these rooms go up?

Looks like they add a sliding door instead of the curtain to the vanity area. You see it in one of the pictures with the bed. Where there should be the picture you see what looks like a sliding door. At first I thought it was window blinds but seeing the other photo shows it is really the bathroom wall you are looking at.

I am so happy to hear about this refurb. Pop really needs it. We have been staying at All star sport which has been in better shape then Pop. Our last few stays at Pop were pretty bad so we switched. Hopefully after this refurb we can switch back.

I like the look of the refurb at PC but it just seems to look a "little" sterile, like a hospital setting (although I do like the absence of carpeting & comforters!) - I'd probably like it better seeing it in person...

I'm excited about the coffee maker....I hate the trek to the food court every morning. I need at least 1 cup to function.

Can't wait to see it for myself this September.

I am officially coming to Pop Century in just 86 days. It will be my 4th time there. The other 5 people who are traveling with me, are all first timers. I was at Pop in February, I had no idea that they were changing anything in the rooms. I will be in a room by myself, and I asked for connecting rooms for the other two rooms. We have three Pop Rooms. I thought that would be much more comfortable than two rooms at the French Quarter. We are 3 adults, and three kids. The kids are all teenagers.

Pop is about the only room I can afford anymore. Good thing I like it a lot.

Thinking about the room refurb I would have preferred if they had put in a sofa that converted into a bed and kept the table and chairs. I find the option of the sofa to be more comfortable and you still get the floor space from the bed being put away just like the Murphy bed table they have now.

I thought that, too -- that the sofa bed would make more sense because it provides comfortable seating when the bed isn't open. If we stayed in a room like this with four people, we'd probably always have the bed open because of needing someplace to relax. The table chairs aren't really good for relaxing. However, I think they were probably going for sleeping comfort when choosing the pull-down bed instead of the sofa. Based on the rooms at AoA, the pull-down bed has a thicker mattress and while both of those beds are comfortable, the pull-down bed provides a standard mattress. And while the sofa bed is extremely easy to open, the pull-down bed is even easier/simpler.

All that being said, I'm reading on another message board that not all of the rooms at Pop will be converted to the new style and that some rooms are just getting an update/refresh, not the new furniture and layout. I'm not sure if that's true or not. If it is, I'm going to guess that the new layout rooms will be a different booking category/price. There were apparently several rooms that were converted about 6 months ago and have been assigned to random guests to get feedback on the layout/functionality. It's not even confirmed that the converted rooms will have the exact same furniture/features that we're seeing in these pictures -- just something similar. Time will tell and it will be interesting to see how this all works out. I'll definitely be doing some walking around Pop when we're at AoA in a few weeks hoping to see an open door on one of these "new" rooms.

I like the new rooms. We would stay there with kids. We stay in DVC studios a lot and the pull out couches are not as comfortable as I would like.

I know I'm getting into little details at this point:hyper:, but I'm wondering anyone can tell me how much the fountain drinks are at Pop. I'm trying to determine if the mugs would pay for themselves for us.

Does anyone know if there are any connecting rooms in preferred pool view category? I did check the Touring Plans maps and did not see any indications of connecting rooms. Would like to know if that would be a wasted request (and, yes, I know that, if there are, requesting them is no guarantee that you'd get one).

Looking to book a trip for 2017. My DD loves Lady & the Tramp.

Which 50's building is right where the Lady & the Tramp statues?

Thanks!! :)

Yes there are. I have found the Touring Plans maps/room finder to be extremely inaccurate when it comes to room details like connecting, king bed, etc.

A description I found says Lady and Tramp gaze at each other across the courtyard and it looks from the map like Lady is at building 1 at Tramp is at building 3.

Yes,they are at the "entrance" to the elevator locations in the "center" of 1 and 3.:)

We just stayed in building one last week and Lady is in front of building one. Building two has a jukebox that is facing the bowling pin pool and building three is facing building one so that Tramp is directly across from Lady. Building one is also right beside the Classic Hall where you will find the food court, transportation and check-in desk.
