Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE RESORT Information & Questions

After 4pm the boats run directly to/from each resort (i.e. the POR boats do not also drop off guests at FQ) approximately even 15 minutes (used to be ten minutes, but a shared service). At busy times there can be a wait of a couple of boats.

Good to know...thank you!

Hmmm, makes me wonder if I should take my car. The boat just seemed so easy. But I didn't think of long lines...
I'd rather boat than drive. Parking in Disney Springs may be difficult. And the boat ride is so nice.

Are there still waits with the boats since they are dedicated now and don't have to save room for POFQ pick ups?

With the football schedule just being released.... Where is the best place for us to watch Monday night football close to POR, or just best overall at disneyworld? The Broncos play on Monday night while we're there. The last two times we were in Orlando we watched from our hotel rooms.

Just a word of caution with the boat during the day is to allot the time for the stops. Our captain sat and talked for 15 minutes with the other captain stopped at POFQ before moving on to Riverside. It was a little annoying. He was loading up the other boat and chatting with a boat full of people waiting on him. He didn't leave till the other guy did. But other than that the ride is lovely and beats the bus or driving to me.

I've never heard of anywhere ON property other than the ESPN Club.

ignore that article "Why Port Orleans is the Worst Moderate". It is one person's opinion and limited to their personal preferences. I don't believe we would find agreement on Disney's worst animated (or best animated) film so why should there be universal agreement on a resort?

I am 53 days out from our trip! This is our first stay at POR, we usually stay at WL. I have always requested a floor and side of the building at WL, but have no idea what to do at POR. I clicked on highest floor and corner room on the online check-in screen. Have you usually been placed in a mansion building with that request? I don't care which section we are in, just want to be on the top floor. Any suggestions of what I should do. We have a garden view room. I would like to be close to a quiet pool and able to get to Ol' Man Island easily. Thanks!!

I've never stayed here either, but I've had really great luck with my requests. I'll let you know what happens this time. Have fun.

Me and my buddy had a great time watching a game at River Roost. Drinks, app's and a short walk back to the room

Oh my goodness. I think my head would have exploded. I try to be pretty laid back, because I'm on vacation in the happiest place on earth, but I have my limits. lol

Seriously our annoyance level was high! And everyone on our boat was kind of looking at each other each time he'd look on his way back and then load the other guys boat. But, as you said, it's Disney so we tried to be magical about it!

I hope no one was trying to make an ADR!

I am so happy I get to return to POR in December! This time I will need to book 2 rooms as we are taking my adult niece and her 6 year old daughter with us. I have never booked 2 rooms before. Is that considered one reservation and therefore I only need to pay one $200 deposit? And do I manage that as one reservation when making dining reservations and fp selections? I was thinking of paying for preferred so the 6 year old has shorter walks when returning at night, although I am considering booking Royal Rooms. We stayed in the RR on our last visit and were fortunate enough to be upgraded to river view and the location was great! We had such a fabulous stay last time, I cannot wait to return!

Deposit is per room (one night's deposit per room, or $200 if you are booking a package). You can link multiple reservations to your MDE account (or set several MDE accounts up as a family group) and then make ADRs, FP+ bookings, etc for your whole party in one session.

I am interested in booking at POR and just looked into my dates, and there are no preferred rooms left. If I book a "garden view" room, does anyone know which buildings that room might be in? What are the buildings closest to the main area? Thank you!

It could be anywhere. It just won't have a parking lot view.

We watched at both River Roost and Scat Cat's in POFQ. If the weather is good the pool bar may be open for the 1st half. Since it is the only game on TV any resort lounge will have it on.
