Let me start off by saying that I'm the furthest thing from a nay sayer on DIS and find myself rolling my eyes at many "exaggerated posts" on this board - but after spending 14 hours at MK yesterday I have to say that the cutbacks are def showing in a few areas - primarily the bathrooms!!

Yes I know it's peak time - MK was a 7 out of 10 - but EVERY bathroom we used, both male and female, were disgusting! I don't mean dirty - I mean disgusting!!

I travel alot and have seen some pretty dirty airport bathrooms, and that's how I describe what we saw yesterday.

Come on Disney -you're not my local 6 Flags - clean up your act!

Mic drop....

We were there this past weekend as well. I completely agree. They were pretty bad at times.

Be sure to write a letter or email to guest services so they are aware of the restroom issues.

I remember back in the '90s how Disney's restrooms had the reputation for cleanest public restrooms anywhere.

OP, would you please edit the title of the thread to reflect the date so we all know down the road when yesterday was. Thanks! :)

Disney is setting things up for its next extra cost premium experience. For only $149, you get to spend 3 hours after closing cleaning MK bathrooms. Leftover turkey leg, unsold popcorn, and stale coffee included. I'm sure there would be plenty of guests willing to pay for this honor.

The last time I was in MK, October 2014, the bathrooms on that passageway between Adventureland and Frontierland were pretty bad. So was the one outside the MK gates.

OTOH, the last 5 or 6 years, every Six Flags bathroom I've been into was acceptable.

My wife and I just came back from WDW and we discussed this thread. Our experience was quite different. We felt the washrooms were in great condition and found that during many of our visits there was someone in there cleaning them up.

Part of the problem is people are pigs, they think it's o.k. to throw their toilet paper on the floor and not pick it up, to hover but not be able to hover and spray all over the seat and not flush the toilet. Every time I've been there, there has been someone in there working but with the crowds, I would think even if they had two people in each bathroom, it would be almost impossible to keep up. How hard is it to pick up after yourself and flush the toilet?

Maybe it's time to start taking the posts of hard corp, repeat guests more seriously. I tend to think that people who hang out here are died in the wool Disney fanatics, and when they find fault with that which they love the most, it is worth noting and not dismissing. Now, if I were hanging out at a site called "I hate Disney", I would be far more skeptical. But when a company's most loyal fan base starts complaining, red flags should be raised and eyes should open and not roll. Definitely let Disney know of your disappointment.

These sort of bathroom posts have been popping up for a while now. And granted, my last trip to WDW was October, but I have become hyper aware of the cleanliness of the bathrooms because of those posts. And at least before this last round of cuts, the bathrooms were in good shape!

Timing seems to be everything. I could walk in 5 minutes after they cleaned and everything was fantastic! Fifteen minutes later a family of slobs could have come in and trashed the place. Disney should be staffing for how busy they know the parks will be, no question. However people should stop being so disgustingly sloppy in the bathrooms too.

I hope they staff better. The restrooms see such a large volume of people that they need to be clean and attended to almost around the clock. If they are going to have bigger crowds, more people etc. they need to staff for it whether it be the bathrooms, housekeeping at hotels, restaurant staff etc.

Yes, people are pigs, but the simple fact is that a public restroom needs constant attention. trash needs to be emptied frequently, counters wiped down, soap refilled etc.

EXACTLY. Many public restrooms have a schedule on the door that show how often someone has come in to clean the place. Often times the schedule is printed out on the half hour, or on the hour. The restrooms at Disney World are far too busy to allow for this type of schedule. Constant cleaning is needed unfortunately, and I think they have gone to a more scheduled approach meaning that some people will walk into a pristine restroom while others will walk into a disgusting restroom. Pardon the pun, but it is a crap shoot.

Just like so many other things that people complain about, this all starts with the lack of respect that some people have for others. If everyone was respectful, we would have cleaner bathrooms and less issues with people getting run over, cut in line, children running around and screaming uncontrolled, etc. Disney can certainly staff the bathrooms better, but we can't expect them to clean each stall after someone uses it. If someone leaves a stall a mess when it's your turn to use it next, nicely call them out for it. Perhaps they forgot to flush, but if they leave the seat wet or with tons of paper on the seat, that is nothing but intentional.

I really have never felt that the bathrooms at Disney World are all that clean. They are always crowded, damp, and smell unclean. I try to avoid using them if possible. And I don't even go to WDW at times that are all that busy, so I can only imagine what a pit they are on busy days.

I've never had this experience of overly dirty bathrooms at WDW (my last trip was 5 months ago and I don't travel at peak times). It's definitely a factor of people being bigger slobs as time goes by and either less staff or even with the same staff level, it would be harder to keep up to the increase in guest ignorance.

All I can say is if you do encounter an exceptionally dirty bathroom, report it to a CM, because it likely means they don't know about it yet.

This is not good. I visit Disneyland more then DW but am headed that way in june. In February at Disneyland the bathrooms were as clean as ever. Here I have always noticed an attendant in the bathrooms full time. I can't remember not seeing one going in or out. This is one of the reasons I love Disney parks. Hope they get the act together.
