I am seeing on another Disney forum people are now afraid to visit Disneyland Paris and some people are cancelling their trip booked for February 2016.

I am also booked for February 2016 but I will not cancel and will continue my plans

While I understand that today Disneyland Paris is closed, these attacks do not put me off visiting Paris or Disneyland. To me thats part of what they want, to disrupt normal life , not just in the immediate but in the future. Even if I was booked for this week, I would still continue with my plans, and unless the airports were closed or Disneyland Paris closed, I would not cancel my trip.

We go tomorrow!! Planning to still go , but I'm not sure what to think. I'm going with my daughter who is 18 and she is adamant she still wants to go. Its easy to say I wouldn't go if you have no plans, but when you have a booking it makes you think why should we be forced to change our plans?.

agree @ScottishDisMam
Just be prepared for delays. The best way to fight the terro attacks is to show them that life continues as normal, that the terror does not work. They want French life to be disrupted , for people to cancel their plans.

Have a great time and just escape reality :)

It worries me that its such an obvious target being an American icon in Paris. Especially as its difficult to make such a place 100% secure. There is no way they could ever really prevent someone taking in a concealed weapon. Bag checks are sensible, but without airport style walk through scanners and shoe checks etc then its not really secure at all.

But overall I think I'd be more concerned about disruption rather than actual personal risk. When we went this year we were worried about the tunnel situation but somehow got lucky with operation stack clearing minutes before we got to ashford and no delays on the eurostar at all. Now you don't even know for sure if the parks will be open. Too much risk for me at the moment. Its not helped with DLP being short 2 or 3 day trips for most people. A 1 day delay in a 14 day holiday is tolerable. A 1 day delay in a 2 day holiday is a disaster.

agree, in summer 2015 my USA 10 day trip was disrupted by flights, I few out a day late and came back a day later. It didnt really make much difference other than inconvenience etc. DLP on the other hand, my trip in February is 2 nights / 3 days. Flying a day later in that case will be totally different.

The people I feel sorry about are those already there. The park was open until 10pm so anyone staying for Dreams would not have known what was happening, also those who went to bed early to get up for EMH. They are now stuck in the hotels and cant go into the parks today

I don't have a trip planned but would still love to get a few days over the Christmas season. Fear is what these people want - don't be their victim!

I am booked to go in just over 3 weeks.

I live in London so the threat of terrorism is always there.

I think they have got luggage scanners when you get out at the train station in disney havent they?

I am still planning my january visit, my son told me not to go but i think it's pretty silly to stop planning ahead as what happened yesterday may not happen again for ages or happen tomorrow in italy who can say that...

Go and enjoy Mick and co.

Our trip will be over Eastern in March 2016.

I was scared some month ago when there was this terror at the Thalys because we always use this train to go to Paris and DLP.

I am scared now when I hear all those terrible news.

Will I cancel my journeys ?

No!

They can scare me but they will never win....democratie and freedom will be stronger.

They will not taken over my live because then they will win.

we go on monday and are still planning to go unless of course they urge people not to fly etc. No doubt Disney and Paris in general will have stepped up security, especially on the popular tourist areas.

We are on our way now, we drive from aberdeen and have 2 stops on the way down to arrive there on Monday. Scared yes. Cancel because of these extremists no chance. That's exactly what they want.

oh wow, high five to you and your family. Keep us updated on your trip

Hope all of you who are going in next few days and weeks have minimal disruption to your travel plans and enjoy a great stay in DLP. :thumbsup2 It is much much braver to go so close to such events even though it may actually be safer than ever because of increased security.

I agree BadPinkTink though I have been reading on facebook that Disney has had characters and CMs in hotels today to entertain families. Hopefully they will still have had a good day in spite of the closure of the park. :goodvibes

Not only am I not cancelling our January trip but I rang today and booked for Catherine and I to go in May. :cool1: I had a lovely CM on the phone and I was sympathising with her and she said she was so pleased people were still making bookings today. :grouphug:

thats brillant news :)

We don't have a holiday there booked at present. We are heading to WDW at Easter. But today we both said we need to go back. It's made us want to go more , not less. I thinks it's about showing life goes on, life's short and proving the people who carry out these atrocities cannot and will not win.
