Well I just switched our (DD 19 and my annual mother/daughter) Feb/Mar trip from Wilderness Lodge to BC CL lagoon/pool view! We were going to change it up this year-we've stayed at BC for the past three years, but I got nervous about all of the refurbishments and well, BC is just home. I texted her at college and she claimed she "knew all along" that I would switch. Looking forward to a renovated room and to enjoy the Stone Harbor Club again. And, it was surprisingly $2000 cheaper than the WL room!
Are they the same company as Scentair.com?
Last year when I was at the Yacht Club, I asked about their scent.
They directed me to ScentAir. They said during the year, they scent with the Green Clover & Aloe.
For the Christmas Holiday, they used Noel. I think they said the Beach Club uses Gingerbread.
As mentioned somewhere, ScentAir deals with businesses, and they require a contract. I actually contacted them to see what they offered and costs. I
ended up buying a machine off of ebay. The machine is called ScentWave and they use the ScentAir cartridges. The cartridges are limited but do pop up on eBay from time to time. Anyway, I should have my system next week. I ordered it with Green Clover & Aloe. I'll report back on how it is. Depending on how strong the machine is, I'll decide if I will use it at home or work Hope this helps.
Sorry if this has been asked before - have they changed the coffee pots with the renovations? We will be there in 12 days and I am a coffee nut - I want to make sure I can make enough coffee for me. I saw in the pictures what looks like a 4 or 6 cup maker? Not sure if they changed it out or not. If not do they sell the packs that go in or should I pack some?
Thanks
We had to move our trip up a couple of weeks (still in August) - so now we're 3 nights at YC in between our Poly & GF stays.
Hi everyone! I'm thinking of splitting my March stay and ending our trip at the YC. Are there any renovations/pool closures I should be aware of? SAB is the main reason I'd pick YC so having it be closed/partially closed would be awful.
Soo....I started with a standard view for my vacation in March. A week and a half ago I upgraded to a garden view with hopes that I could get a good partial view of the lagoon. Tonight, I just upgraded to a lagoon/pool view and I'm going to pray to the disney gods that I get a nice view of the lake! I have nothing really to plan at the moment since I'm 62 days away from FP+ selections...so now I keep messing with other parts of the reservations. SHHH, don't tell the husband! hehe! Disney is getting me in trouble with being able to modify my room views via the website.
I tried searching for some answers to they but didn't find exactly what I was looking for...we have a reservation for a garden view room, are there any special room requests that I should make that would maybe get us a "better" garden view than others? I've never stayed at the YC before and am not really familiar with the layout of the rooms. We are a family of 5 with a couple of really light sleeper so I usually request upper floors and corner or quieter rooms...but would trade those for a cool view from our room if I had to pick TIA!
We were really spoiled in July when we ended up with a water view for our 1 night standard view booked reservation. I am hoping not so much for the view for our December stay (3 nights prior to Poly), but would love to request a similar location... Namely next to the "secret" Door that exits towards the wedding gazebo. Online check-in doesn't exactly list that as an option. How would you phrase this request and how would you present it? (Call. Fax, what is the norm?) Thank you!
I'm leaving in 3 weeks for my first YC stay -- do you request when you check in, or call or fax ahead of time? I've also got a garden view room booked. TIA!
So terribly behind, sorry friends Very excited for my DHs 2016 call schedule to come out so we can request vacation time and I can make my summer trip dates set (well for me that may not be too set LOL). Right now we have July booked at Poly CL with a special rate. After a lackluster GF CL stay, we are rethinking Poly. I want to come back to the BC. I have rates for late June and early August (my AP exp. 8/13), so I am definitely hoping for one of those. Not that I would mind the Poly, however last week we realized how much more we enjoyed staying on Crescent lake. There is always the possibility of AP rates trumping my TA as well. Next month I'll be at BWI, and I plan to run over to give Teena a big old hug!!! Back to my homework
ETA: I can't get the photo of the actual gazebo to post, but this is the view you are hoping for by requesting "gazebo view"!!

Wow, have things changed since I last posted. I need to get oriented and caught up here! I missed by YC/BC friends.
I get how hard it is to be on the boards when there is no trip planned, so thank you for checking in Congrats to your son on his upcoming graduation! I am completing my Masters now so I'll be done before my son graduates (he's a freshman now). Time flies, and you'll be hearing "welcome home" before you know it. After our APs expire I was told no more WDW for awhile, so for now I am getting my WDW fix in This is definitely a cool place to chill until you can get back to planningHey there BC/YC friends!
I haven't been on in a while because I've been in a deep depression since our August trip. For the first time in 10 years we won't be traveling back to our beloved BC. My son is a senior this year and all of our money is going to college applications and tuition in the fall so no trip for a while!! Family and priorities first, though I do feel pretty bummed when I think about not being there anytime soon!
I hope you and your families are doing great and you all have trips planned in the very near future!!

286 days to go... I check into the YC! We'll be there August 23rd until September 2nd 2016. Only got a standard room booked as it was a magical price, the geek in me has already made a map of the resort room numbers on a spreadsheet using touring plans, google image searches etc. Almost every odd numbered room faces SAB, the gazebo or a garden area, so rather than going with the touring plans method of coding the room request, I'm thinking of being more generic in my request as by my calculations, some of the rooms they have listed as standard views MUST be water or garden views, so would rather give the room allocation people an idea of what I want, than a specific number that might not actually be in my room class in the first place.
How about an "I need a Sunken Treasure while laying in a lounge chair next to SAB" kind of day?It was an "I need a Sunken Treasure" kind of day...
