Have you ever been evacuated from a ride?

Does wishing you had been evacuated off a ride count? We spent ~25 minutes right at the wench auction waiting for the ride to start. It is forever a family joke that "show em your arbored side" and "we wants the redhead".

We were also evac from Pooh. We loved it also pirates but that was closer to the beginning so not as fun

Many years ago, like before FP, we were evaded from POTC. The CMs had to push the boats to a spot where we could get off on dry land. I think we were stuck for about t 30 min. We walked right through the scenery and out a door backstage. The CM stepped on the crab. That's all I really remember as I was a kid.

My family and I had a similar experience in November 2008. Unfortunately, our boat was stopped/stuck for more than 20 minutes at the ship scene, with the "cannonball spray" flying and hitting us the entire time. pirate: They didn't turn off the spray until the lights came on. I think we must have been sitting on a pressure plate below the surface of the water. We got drenched.

But what I found most interesting was that, with the lights on and the CMs coming out of the woodwork to start moving the boats, you saw just how much forced perspective is used in POTC and how small many of the "towers" actually are (with a CM standing next to it for perspective).

A minor nuisance at the time, but I wouldn't take back the experience, and we did FPs out of it!

My DH and I experienced a first at WDW -- we got evacuated from a ride. We were on Splash Mountain when a traffic jam became longer and longer. Finally the music and animatronics turned off and we were told a CM would be out to assist us. They had to manually open the lap bars and we all went out back stage where we got a FP. No clue what the issue was.
Twice.

Backlot Tour - we received no FP.

Splash Mountain - just before going up the long ramp. We did receive a FP. Worked out for us, we didn't know our daughter was tall enough for Space Mountain and had nothing to lose. We turned that lemon into lemonade - she was just tall enough.

We were stuck on Spaceship Earth twice in the same ride, both for what felt like a long period of time. We weren't evaced, but that Woolly Mammoth scene got old pretty fast.

Splash Mountain got stuck for quite some time and they were close to escorting us off it, but it started again.

Yes, evacuated this year for the first time, and I wish it would happen again! 15 minutes in a Hunny Pot stopped at the last turn before you unload, one step-stool exit, and I had an anytime/any ride MK Fastpass I got to use for an extra ride on 7DMT!!! Yeah, yeah, it's lame and stupid and for little kiddies, but who cares, I love it! (Although yes, it could be longer, and I won't wait in the huge standby lines.) I was so excited I got to go again with FP!

I would be scared to be evacuated from something like EE if you had to walk all down the inside of the mountain, or Test Track if you had to get out of the car while it's tilted up on the outside track.

Never, but last trip i was on the PeopleMover and the lights were on SM which was cool! Got to take some cool pix and a video.

Would love to ride this /w lights on but I know it wouldn't be as exciting since you can brace for each turn

I think EE would be terrifying to have to evac. Especially the long incline up the mountain with those tiny stairs!

!

Yes, me too!

I have to admit it was kind of anxiety-inducing to be wondering what's going on. My mind was thinking there's a bomb or hostage situation and I'm stuck in a boat with a lap bar. :scared: I know it's silly. I'll be calmer next time as I know it's more routine than I thought. I'm just glad I wasn't on it with my 12 yo. Poor thing would have been freaking out.

I haven't been evacuated, but Splash Mountain gave me a scare. That ride stops and starts so many times I forgot what I was riding. It makes the splash
anticlimactic. I know breakdowns happen but the really ruin the illusion. :(

Once on Splash, just before the indoor drop, our boat was the one boat that had a wall on the side they were evacuating every other boat from, so after they got everyone else off they came back on the other side and got us. We went down a fire escape on the west side of the show building and got a good view of the Parade float storage area and the garbage collection area. At DL we got evaced off The Matterhorn, our car was in the water before the unload area, that was a very large step to the steps, and one slip would have been a good bath.

We got evacuated from Radiator Springs Racers in Carsland DLR in May. It was actually kind of fun.

Haven't been evacuated but want to say that 7DMT is not supposed to be only for little kids as some on the boards say. Although it's a "family coaster", it's supposed to be of interest to everyone, as opposed to The Barnstormer which really is supposed to be just for kids

We have never been evacuated off a ride. But I think I would freak out if I got evacuated off certain rides such as It's A Small World and the Dinosaur Ride. I think it would be scary with the lights on and you're able to see the figures up close and they may still be moving!

Got stuck on the People Mover too. Inside a tunnel in Space Mountain. For 45 minutes. Was finally escorted off by a cast member, who offered nothing for the inconvenience. Went to a Guest Services and complained. Got 3 fast passes good for any ride of my choosing. For that, I was ok with being stuck on the People Mover :)

We were evacuated a few years ago from BTMR. They said they saw someone walking around it there and stopped the ride. Who would be that stupid?!?

We were evacuated off of EE about 2 years ago. As you go up to where the track is "broken", just before you go backwards, the ride stopped. About 5 or 6 minutes went by and some CMs came to get us off the ride. They asked us to put our phones and cameras away and we walked a little ways through the ride, then to a stairwell, where we trekked down quite a few stories. Definitely an interesting experience.

My ds was evacuated off that too about 2 years ago. I wonder if it was the same time! Anyway, he was also on the incline going up, but his car was on the outside. The track that you see from on the ground. It was scary watching them climbing out. He took a picture of the step he had to climb onto. Also, they refused to help anyone get out of the car. DS said it was kinda hard to do it and scary. DS was 12 at the time so it wasn't too awful for him to do it. Thank goodness I wasnt on it!!! They would have had to rig up a crane to come rescue me! I would never have climbed out of there onto the tiny ledge. Some people were crying when they came off the ride.

I'll never ride that ride again.
