We are 100% looking forward to doing this on our trip in October... we booked TPV and I cannot wait to chill out + chow down while looking across at the castle. =) @Ferrentinos, thanks for your response - you're not the first person we've heard say that "1" serving is more than enough so we're definitely going that route.

So glad to hear the in-room 'ohana is a good option! DH and I are both fairly light eaters but really enjoyed the food last trip. this sounds like a great option, plus we would get a night off from having to keep the kiddos (4 and 1) relatively quiet in a restaurant. Maybe we'll even get them to bed earlyish and do "ohana date night" on the balcony (might as well dream big :-)

When I get my room text, will it show the building name/floor, or will I need to know how to "decode" ithe room number? We're really hoping for a balcony or patio so we can chat during naps/if the kids go to bed early and I'm wonding if I'll be able to tell from the text. We're at POFQ the night before we move to the Poly so I can head over early afternoon and ask for alternate room options, if needed.

Hi everyone- I'm trying to figure out the monorail for April 2016. We are RD people so typically would get busses at non monorail resorts about 1 hour before the park opens. Can we do that via monorail for MK and EP or would we need to take a bus?

I'd honestly take the boat to MK if it's running.

Ok here are my first impressions of day 1 and 2. We were placed in Raratonga second floor. (Which was a bummer) but we were given connecting rooms so we didn't ask to be moved. Honestly wanted Raratonga but I really wanted a balcony. The room itself was great, clean and ready when we arrived. As for convenience love Raratonga! We even have a room facing the construction, we haven't heard any major noise. Yes it's an eye sore but it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Honestly we don't have to go near the quiet pool for abythibg, we haven't even walked near it to access anything, so it's no bother.

So far all the CM we have encountered at the resort have been very friendly and helpful.

Today was the first day we used the pool. I really like it. My son (5) loved the kids area. My niece (13) & daughter (9) loved the slide. I think we encountered a few pool hoppers not really sure there was one family with small children swimming in their underwears. Honestly a first for me. We didn't see them 4 very long to be honestly. But they were there. If your staying here then wouldn't u have bathing suits???? Lifeguards were not checking ppl at the gates for bands but they were very friendly. I was standing to close to the water Play area with a drink watching my son. The life guard asked me to step back just a little. I said sorry my feet were very hot on the hot concrete. He said no worries and splashed water on the ground where I was standing further back, then cupped more water in his hands and wet it some more. He said we aim to please the parents that keep an extra eye with us. I thought it was very nice. He didn't have to do that.

We haven't eaten at the table services here yet we have plans for later in our stay. We ate at Grand Floridan Cafe it was ok this time around, it was better on our first trip.

Post more later off to watch the fireworks!!!

Thank you for the review! I'm getting so excited to be there already and check out the pool with my boys! Can you tell me, is there enough room in the bathroom to hang up wet swimsuits, etc w/o using the balcony to do so? Thanks again :goodvibes

I know we struggled with where to put our wet suits. We ended up with them all over and only put our towels outside. Yes, I bring my own towels for use at the pool. I like a larger towel to wrap in
Other Disney resorts have had a drying thing you can pull out and hang things on in the bath tub. Poly did not have this. So we ended up putting our suits over the shower rod and over the racks that hang in front of the sinks, that are meant for hand towels.

Oh man. Ok. TY for this info. I think I may pack my octopus hanging clothes dryer if I have room for it!

I would without a doubt. I used to bring one but all the rooms had those built in the tub. Till this trip, when I didn't bring the hanger of course. We made it work since it was just the 3 of us, 1 a child. It would have been much harder with more people

we arrived last night. We are also Raratonga 2nd floor bit on monorail side. I had wanted a patio and king bed but didn't get either. No worries! Our room is fantastic and we got the connecting rooms we needed! The rooms are big and bathrooms are bugs with 2 sinks so my kids don't fight!
went to MK last night and enjoyed the fireworks with some amazing natural fireworks (lightening) in the background. A few raindrops. But no big deal. Then sweltered waiting for the broken monorail back. Hot and crowded but we had just seen Wishes from the FP+ area and it was awesome so we let the stress roll off and didn't worry. Will say that our little portable mister fans saved the night! Kept the kids cool and gave them something to do while waiting

everything has been great so far!

We arrived on Monday around noon and were greeted by a very nice CM as we got off the ME. He checked our reservation and go ms that we had received the 3rd floor Fiji requests that we asked for. He then brought us inside to finish our check in. Our room is lovely, but I'm a little disappointed with the view as we have the end, corner room on the beach side, so we don't have much of a view. My family assured me that this is just fine. The location is very good.
All CMs have been wonderful.

We have enjoyed dinner at O'hana, lunches at Captain Cooks and adult beverages at Trader Sams. When not eating at the Poly, we have jumped aboard the monorail for meals at the Grand Floridian and MK. Relaxing at the Contemporary right now while the kids play in the arcade. Had a nice relaxing morning with a trip to the spa at GF for me and a bass fishing excursion for everyone else. Boy they caught some big bass!!

Pool was very nice and we were able to find four lounge chairs. We did see some possible pool hoppers, as they were trying to get to the gate before it could close. They were not very pleased when they couldn't get in.

Looking forward to many more great adventures :)

Dont quote me, unless Im right...but...

I am pretty sure (as best I can remember), the first # of the room # is the floor you are on. Maybe that was just in Rarontonga though?? Maybe someone way more familiar can chime in. Ive only been a hand full of times and dont pay close attention to anything :o

Oh.....the monorail has had some issues the passed 2 days. Yesterday the speaker system repeated please stand away from the doors repeatedly in Spanish.

I have to say that made me laugh a little, but I'm sure it was quite annoying! Thank you for the updates, hope the rest of your trip is wonderful! We will be at the Poly in November and it's good to know what might be expected. Getting excited!

Hi All!
Can someone tell me what the air conditioning is like in the rooms? Is it central air type or is it those long radiator looking things that the guest controls?
Thank you!

Sorry it's been a busy day. Not really. If you bring a plastic over the door hanger you are all set. I hung ours from the towel rack last night I didn't think it threw well and I soaked a roll of toilet paper. There is room but you have to bring something from home. Our closet has hangers with clips I used once I realized what I did. But I don't want anything in the way for house keeping either. Hope this helps.

We hang bathing suits over chairs on balcony. In August heat, dries pretty fast.

It's central air.

Day 3 ......very very very hot! We spent the day at Epcot and had a blast. I have to say it was tge first time we did every single ride and every experience. It was a lot of fun.

Funny and a review we rented a evc and stroller from apple scooter. Never again! 2nd time we did and it will be the last. The stroller will barely turn, tge front wheel it pretty much stuck. (Yes we called this is strollet &scooter #2). We r calling again tomorrow to complain. After our long day at the park the monrail attendant asked us to close the scooter, I said I really don't Wang to but I will. We get off the monrail the stroller is stuck open in a straight line. My husband is literally fighting with it to either pop out or go back into the folding position. He was so mad, and at that point I'm so tired all I could do was laugh. It was lIke a scene from National lampoon vacation. It was great. The more mad he got the sillier I got. Which was no help. He almost threw it (no one was around at this point it was just us) never again am I renting from them after this incident. The first stroller was beyond dirty. The evc was beat up, tires has huge gash on the outside. It made a funny noise when it moved.

Watchibg the Fireworks and swimming was a blast for the kids, they loved it!

Tomorrow DTD Trex and maybe Quest!
