Looking for some new ideas for breakfast restaurants. What are your favourites?

Non-Disney and non-character meals please (we are just two adults and doing a non-Disney stay).

We have tried Golden Corral (okay), Hash House a Go Go (awesome), IHOP (loved it), Dunkin Donuts (blech) and Sizzler (very ho-hum) in the past. Just looking for some new possibilities that we might not have considered!

First Watch is already on our list of ones to try on our upcoming October vacation.

Anyone tried Sweet Tomato's breakfast buffet?

All suggestions welcome!

Keke's is very good and of course the one and only Waffle House!

WEBSITE for Keke's

We eat at the Keke's in Dr. Phillips all the time. It's very, very busy all the time so there may be a wait if you decide to go. Usually is.

Mimi's is a good breakfast place. Located in the Mall at Millenia.

Awesome! I will check out both Mimi's & Keke's!

I should have mentioned......Waffle House is a flat out NO. Its the only restaurant we've ever walked into and promptly walked out of because it was so fithy. First impressions last forever, and the one in LBV was disgusting. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day, but I can assure you that my DH will never give it another try. There is no excuse for that kind of grime where people eat.

lol, more of a joke on Waffle House. The one near LBV especially.

In college it was fun. Though I don't recall ever being sober or day time when we ate Waffle House :)

You'll not be disappointed at either Mimi's or Keke's. Enjoy your trip!

Without a doubt Toojays. We just love it there and not just for breakfast. Our son and I always share the breakfast combo. He has the Waffle, bacon sausage, home fries and I have the 2 eggs on a bagel. No idea how anyone manages to eat the whole thing. My husband loves the steak and eggs or just an omelette. Whilst you get loads of food it definitely not a pile it high with fried food type place. Its a proper deli too. We always take something with us to go like half a dozen bagels and sliced roast beef, smoke salmon, prawn salad. The lunch and dinner are great too. I love the chicken noodle soup with half a sandwich. Our son has the same thing every time for lunch, Beef Brisket Sandwich and fries. The desserts are delicious. We usually get 2 between three but our son will eat a whole one and we struggle with the other.
The staff are great and remember us from the previous year. The manager always comes round to check everything ok. The place is full of locals. Never heard any other English accents there which is a shame as my fellow countrymen are missing out.
Infact, apart from one Disney breakfast, I think this is the only place we have ever gone for breakfast. We do try to stick to cereal and fruit in our hotel most of the time but as we are always there for three weeks we do treat ourselves a few times. We will be there on our first morning this year on 11th August which also happens to be our sons 15th birthday

Which location did you eat? I assume the one in Dr. Phillips. We eat there from time-to-time as well.

So that's the secret of the Waffle House popularity....arrive inebriated!

Thanks for the recommend on Toojays :thumbsup2. Now that you mention it, I remember reading some very positive feedbak about it on these boards before. I will be looking up that menu for sure!

Always a good sign when the locals enjoy it. Sober ;) .

yes, Dr Phillips. We are finally trying another restaurant there this time. Bosphorous. Got a deal on Amazon Local or Travelzoo, cant remember now. It is always busy and the food always looks good when we walk by. Must try some other restaurants around there but when you have your favourites its hard to go anywhere else.

Yeah. That's known as 'Restaurant Row' in Dr. Phillips. We live in Dr. Phillips and frequent all of those spots often. Plenty of other threads on here about all the restaurants in this area.

Chick fil A-------LOL!!!!! The chicken on a biscuit is THAT good to us. We love it!! :D

Hmmm....never thought of that one! My son LOVES the Dunkin Donuts chicken on a biscuit but the rest of us HATE it there. I might have to offer this up as a suggestion for our December trip (when we are travellign with the boy and his GF) as an alternative to that dreadful Dunkin :scratchin .

Have you ever tried Cracker Barrel? My DD and I love it but DH isn't a fan.

Ooooh, good suggestion! We love it for dinner, but never tried it for breakfast. Might be worth a try!

Well, it's def. not healthy, if that's what you hate about dunkin. :-) It is the best chicken on a biscuit in the history of ever!!! So your son might enjoy it! And it's really inexpensive, but I will say it's small, so no need to feel too bad about having fried chicken for breakfast. :lmao:

No probs, don't forget that Downtown Disney has places for breakfast too. Earl and wolfgang puck express do breakfast

We had breakfast at Earl of Sandwich in May.....it was "okay" (a good value with the Groupon we purchased) but construction was still a nightmare. We would prefer to avoid DTD this next trip.

First Watch in Dr. Phillips is good.

For something a bit different, Le Cafe de Paris (also in DP) is wonderful. Locally owned/operated by a French couple.
